Chapter 45: Party next door

I don’t know what gave us the courage to do what we did, but we did it. We insulted Cooper. After ending the call with him, I felt a surge of joy within me.

Ruby started to laugh, and I joined her.

"They’ll kill you tomorrow," she giggled.

"You’re not safe either," I retorted as we laughed.

"Oh, Willa is coming," I noticed Willa approaching.

"She probably got a call from Cooper. Does she want to take us to him?" Ruby gasped.

I gasped as well.

"Let’s escape; we can’t let her find us."

"Yes." I grabbed my purse, and she held her handbag. We sneaked out through the opposite side and ran toward the roadside.

A taxi stopped just in time for us, so we rushed inside.

"Where to, ma’am?" the driver asked.

"Just go; take us away from here," I urged him.

The driver started the cab and drove for five minutes before stopping.

"Where would you like to go now?" he inquired.

"We..." Ruby and I exchanged glances, trying to think of a destination.

"Can we go to your house, Ruby?" I asked.

"No, the brothers will easily track us if we go there."

"Where else, then?"

"We can go to a hotel; we’ll sleep there tonight. When we’re sober, we can return to hell," she suggested.

"Yeah, okay," I agreed. I turned to the driver. "Please take us to the nearest hotel."

"Okay," he said, driving off. Ten minutes later, we arrived in front of a building.

"We’re here. Would you like to pay with cash or a card?"

"We can’t pay with a card," I muttered. "The brothers will track us down easily if we do."

"Yes, we must pay with cash. I have some." Ruby opened her bag and paid the driver. frёeweɓηovel.coɱ

We got out of the cab and tried to enter the hotel but paused when we realized it wasn’t a hotel—it was a motel.

"Why did he bring us here? We clearly asked for a hotel," Ruby mumbled.

"Maybe he didn’t hear me clearly. Should we take another cab?" freeωebnovēl.c૦m

"Let’s just stay here; it’s the same, isn’t it? We’ll spend one night. Besides, this is the last place the brothers will expect to find us."

"Oh... okay," I reluctantly agreed.

We went in and paid at the front desk.

"You turned off your phone, right?" she asked after we collected our room key.

"Yes, you should turn yours off too."

"Okay." She took out her phone and switched it off.

We arrived at the room, unlocked it, and walked in.

I don’t like motels, but we can stay here for the night.

I took a seat in the room’s lone chair while Ruby occupied the bed.

"I hope this room isn’t bugged; I don’t feel comfortable here," I muttered, looking around.

"We’re not taking our clothes off; we’ll leave once we’re sober. But I’ve been imagining the look on the brothers’ faces when they realize you’re gone," Ruby chuckled.

"They’ll be mad. They might fire Willa. Oh, poor Willa—she did nothing wrong. I hope they don’t fire her."

"I thought you didn’t like her; you said she was inflexible."

"She is, but that doesn’t mean I hate her."

"Oh yes, the driver—the old man. You said you were going to tell me about him?"

"Yeah, you’re right. Something happened."

"Was he fired or punished? What happened?" she inquired.

"I slapped him. He said a lot of shit to me, and when I could no longer hold it in, I hit him."

"Oh my gosh! You did?" she exclaimed.

"Yes."

"I was supposed to do that, remember? You stopped me."

"It’s okay; I’m glad I did it myself. He even asked me to call him Daddy. I mean, he said a lot of shit, but that part made me lose it."

"Oh my goodness!" She cracked up and began to laugh.

"I can’t believe that old man. Where did the brothers find such a pervert?"

"I don’t know. Why aren’t they being careful? Jack wasn’t a pervert, but they fired him and hired a pervert as my driver," I grumbled, annoyed.

"So, what happened afterward?"

"Willa intervened; I heard they beat him to a pulp."

"Good, awesome," Ruby laughed.

"I’m sure he learned his lesson..." I began, but a knock at the door startled us.

We stood up.

"Who... who is that? Who are you?" Ruby asked.

"Your neighbors," a male voice answered.

Neighbors? What neighbors?

"We saw you when you came in. We’re having a small party; why don’t you join us?" another male voice said.

There are two of them.

"No, we’re not interested; thanks for the offer though," Ruby responded.

"Why? Your first time in a motel?" one chuckled. "Are you scared of us?"

"Scared? Why would we be?" Ruby moved closer to the door. "We’re not scared. There’s nothing to be afraid of."

"You’re not even opening up; do you think we might come in and eat you?" they said and laughed again.

"We want to sleep now; we’re very sleepy. We can’t party with you."

"You’ve been talking since you arrived; you’re not going to sleep anytime soon, baby. But it’s okay if you’re scared of us; there are other beauties here," they said as they began to walk away.

Ruby opened the door and poked her head out.

"They’re gone," she whispered. "I think they’re having a party over there," she said, pointing.

"You should ignore them," I sighed and returned to my seat.

"No, I want to check it out."

"No, Ruby! Don’t go."

"I’ll be back; give me a second," she smiled and snuck out.

Moon goddess! This girl has lost her mind.

I hope nothing happens to her.

She returned five minutes later.

"There are many girls there; they weren’t lying." She closed the door and faced me.

"I’m not interested, Ruby. I want to go to bed; I have a headache."

"There are about seven guys there, if I’m not mistaken, and so many girls. I wish to join them. I was having a party until you called me out. Come with me, please?"

"No. I can’t. I don’t want to. I feel sleepy." I took off my shoes and went to bed.

"They ordered fried chicken, and they ordered drinks too. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity; you’ll never get it again."

"No," I covered my head with the pillow to block out her voice, but she yanked the pillow away.

"You’ll be back in that huge mansion, surrounded by the four dominating, devilish Alphas; you’ll never get this opportunity again. Just come with me; it’s a mini party. And if you don’t want to dance, you can sit in the corner and watch us."

"Go alone."

"I don’t want to go alone; I don’t know anyone there; I’ll be bored by myself. Just sit in the corner, please."

"No!!"

"Please!!!" She started dragging me out of bed until she succeeded. I fell to the floor and frowned.

"Let’s go." She helped me to my feet. "We’ll stay for thirty minutes, then return to the room."

"Thirty minutes?"

"Yes, just thirty minutes."

I reluctantly agreed, "Okay, let’s go, but it won’t exceed thirty minutes."

"Yes! Just thirty minutes." I followed her out of the room, and we went to the party next door.
