Chapter 115: A woman

Has he bled to death? My heart raced as I dashed into his closet.

"Bryce! Bryce, where are you?" I called, looking around. I slipped out of the closet and rushed to the bathroom. Had he passed out on the bathroom floor?

I opened the door and hurried in. "Bry—" I tried calling again but stopped when I saw him standing in the middle of the bathroom, staring at me.

I instinctively raised my hands to cover my eyes. "I... I’m sorry, I was... I didn’t mean to... I was just..." I stuttered endlessly. Realizing I wasn’t making sense, I turned, walked out of the bathroom, and shut the door behind me.

Moon goddess! I hadn’t expected to see him there. But at least he’s healthy. I am relieved.

Swallowing the saliva that had pooled in my mouth, I walked to the bed and sat down.

A few seconds later, the bathroom door opened, and he appeared.

I rose to my feet. "Forgive me, I don’t mean to barge in; I was worried something might have happened to you. You weren’t answering your calls, and I didn’t see you at the hospital, so I came here. When I saw the bloody bandage, I thought maybe... maybe something terrible happened," I explained.

But Bryce didn’t respond. Instead, he focused on treating himself. He retrieved a fresh bandage and began wrapping his wound. Seeing him do this, I moved closer.

"Will it be okay? You should call your doctor," I whispered, watching him bandage himself.

"Why aren’t you in school?" He groaned.

"School? I couldn’t go to school today."

"Couldn’t? Go to school."

"No," I declined.

"What?" He raised his gaze to meet mine.

I looked away. "I don’t want to," I murmured.

"You’re skipping school now?"

"It’s not that... I just wish to stay by your side. I was coming from the hospital, and Cooper seems to be doing okay, but that isn’t the case for you," I murmured.

"When did you become a nurse?" He rose and went into his closet.

I huffed and sat on the bed. I’m only looking out for him. Can’t he see that? If he doesn’t want me here, then I’ll visit Cooper or Ryan.

Yes, Ryan. He said I could see him, right?

Yes, I’ll visit him—but only for a few minutes. I won’t stay long.

The closet opened, and he reappeared, fully clothed.

"Are you going to the office?" I stood again.

"Yes," he answered.

"In that condition?"

He didn’t respond.

"I can’t believe you. What if you lose consciousness there? What if something terrible happens?" I questioned, displeased.

But he remained silent; he adjusted his collar, picked up a briefcase in the corner, and headed to the door.

He opened it and began to leave, but paused. His eyes met mine.

"What are you doing? Get out," he ordered.

I frowned. He is so annoying. I’m worried for him, but he takes my concerns for granted.

Why does he behave so foolishly?

"Fine," I grumbled. Without looking back, I walked out. I went to my room and threw myself on the bed.

A groan escaped me as I turned and twisted on the bed.

I’m so pissed right now. I wish I could put him to sleep, drag him to the hospital, and bind his hands and legs until he recovers.

My phone rang. I retrieved it and answered.

"Hello, princess," Parker’s voice greeted me.

"Hello, where are you? Are you okay?" I sat up.

"Yes. I missed your calls. What’s up? Heading to school?"

"No. Not at all. I’m home today. I’ll step out in the evening, but I’ll be home this morning," I explained.

"Oh, really? In that case, do you want to go somewhere with me?"

"And where is that?" I asked.

"Amusement park. I’m taking my sister there."

"Really? Today?"

"Yes. Later today. She’ll be home by 1:00 p.m., and we’ll probably leave by 3:00 p.m. What do you say?"

"I’m in!" I agreed.

He chuckled. "Alright, finish whatever you need to before then. I’ll be there with her before evening."

"Yes," I smiled.

He disconnected the call.

I lay back on my bed and closed my eyes.

Fun. Fun in the midst of chaos and headache. Not so bad, I guess.

I opened Cooper’s ward and found him sitting on the edge of his bed, playing a video game on his phone.

When he noticed me, he stopped and looked up.

"Hi, I brought lunch," I said, lifting the lunchbox.

He smiled and beckoned me in. I entered, closed the door behind me, and set the lunchbox on the table.

Then I moved the tray closer to Cooper.

"The cooks made this; you should eat," I said.

"I’m not exactly hungry," he replied.

"But you told me you were hungry," I frowned.

"Yes, but not for food."

"For what, then? Do you want to drink? Are you allowed to drink? Or do you want to smoke? I don’t think you should do that," I whispered.

He grinned and pulled me closer. I fell onto his thigh. "You’re so innocent," he murmured.

"I’m talking about real food; it’s been a while, hasn’t it? I think losing consciousness awakened my urges."

"Your urges? I still don’t understand," I made a confused face.

He smiled wider, spun me, and laid me on the bed. He climbed on top of me. "Do you understand now?" He murmured close to my ear.

I froze.

He brought his tongue to my neck and licked me. ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com

"You should have told me, and I would have prepared myself," I whispered as he planted soft kisses around my neck and chest.

"I didn’t want you to run away."

"Why would I run away?" I pouted. I don’t remember ever running away from sex.

Or wait, have I? Maybe. I’m not sure.

"But should we be doing this on a hospital bed? What if a doctor comes in and—" I began, but my words were cut off by a sound at the door.

I turned and saw someone there.

A woman. She looked strikingly like Cooper.

Is she related to Cooper??!
