Chapter 2252: Chapter 2252: Nearly Twenty Hours

"Do you want to speak up for him? You know what kind of person he is." Brother Luo questioned her.

"You should trust me." Xie Wanying gave him these words.

Facing her eyes, Brother Luo recalled everything that had happened, and his rapid breathing calmed down. He had no reason not to trust her because she had saved his sister and her child’s lives.

"I know you have major issues with him. I won’t defend the bad things he’s done in the past," Xie Wanying said to Brother Luo.

So, what do you want to say for him now? Brother Luo questioned.

"He was the one who notified me and asked me to come back to see the child. He was the first to notice the child’s abnormal condition. No matter what, he is the child’s father. You have to admit, the blood relationship exists. Even a tiger won’t eat its cubs."

"Some biological parents are not as good as you think, Dr. Xie."

"I know. But from what he’s shown so far, he doesn’t behave like a tiger wanting to eat its child."

Is that so? Brother Luo turned around, looking at Hu Hao again, his eyes filled with doubt. He remembered how Hu Hao had insistently demanded his sister to abort the child, questioning how this man could like children.

Hu Hao, gloomy, faced the wall. Whether Brother Luo believed him or not didn’t matter to him. He only knew that he cared about this child.

"Yingying, are you here? I’ll have someone meet you at the door to let you in. I’m in the neonatal ward," Doctor Peng replied.

Xie Wanying walked to the entrance of the neonatal ward. Before entering, she told the two people outside to get along peacefully and not to fight, or neither of them would be allowed to stay here to see the child if someone called the police.

Hearing her order, Brother Luo and Hu Hao didn’t dare to act rashly.

The nurse opened the door, instructing her to change into slippers and a lab coat, and to complete disinfection procedures before entering the neonatal ward.

"Over here." Doctor Peng waved to her from not far away.

Xie Wanying walked over, "Teacher Peng."

"Let me explain to you," Doctor Peng led her to the child’s bedside to discuss the situation, "The child was delivered via cesarean at eight o’clock last night. The surgery was originally scheduled for yesterday afternoon but was delayed due to an emergency case that needed rescuing, though it was still a planned procedure. No accidents occurred during surgery. The newborn had an Apgar score of ten at birth, with no major issues, no excess amniotic fluid, no asphyxia, and was sent to the neonatal ward for routine observation. If no other conditions arise, the child will be returned to the mother’s ward in a few days."

Listening to the teacher’s introduction, Xie Wanying internalized the information, calculating the time since the child’s birth, which had been almost twenty hours.

If the child had a lung issue, lung problems are the most common critical conditions in newborns, usually showing up early without needing long-term observation to detect them.

With the mother’s medical record and the child’s chart in hand, Doctor Peng’s expression was solemn and heavy, flipping through page by page to find where the problem might have occurred. Doctor Wang from the neonatal ward came over to join the discussion with them.

Xie Wanying borrowed the teacher’s stethoscope, put on the earbuds, and listened to the child’s heart, lungs, and abdomen.

The anomaly with the child was first noticed by the father, Hu Hao, who believed the child’s belly was larger than other children’s. It’s uncertain if it was due to the biological father’s over-sensitivity. For the time being, the doctors and nurses didn’t particularly notice anything unusual about the child’s belly.
