Chapter 65: Chapter 65 Jewelry Galore

Christina’s POV ƒгeewёbnovel.com

My first night in Hudson’s mansion passed without incident, and without a single sighting of the Alpha himself.

The next morning, I jolted awake to my alarm before remembering.I’d stormed out of Nyx Collective yesterday.

Just as I was basking in my newfound unemployment, someone knocked on the door.

"Come in," I called, sitting up in bed.

Carmen Alvarez stepped in, followed by what looked like an entire department store staff. Racks of clothes, towers of shoe boxes, handbags, coats, dresses for every occasion—all designer, all in my size.

Akira perked up at the overwhelming display of luxury before us.

"I’ll arrange these in your closet," Carmen said, directing her team with military precision.

"There’s no need," I said after gawking for a full minute. "I really don’t need this many clothes. Just send them back."

"These were selected from Alpha Hudson’s preferred designers. All pieces are custom-ordered for you, Luna. Returns aren’t part of the arrangement."

I was about to tell her exactly where to stick the "arrangement" when my brain caught up.

Right, the role. Hudson’s adoring Luna wouldn’t pitch a fit about couture. ƒгeewebnovёl.com

I pasted on a smile that felt more like a grimace and nodded.

While Carmen’s crew organized the walk-in closet, Geoffrey appeared, balancing trays on both arms.

This time, Akira and I both sat up straighter.

The trays were lined with velvet boxes.

Jewelry.

Geoffrey opened one box at a time.

A platinum necklace with emeralds so vibrant they looked supernatural.

A rose gold cuff bracelet with diamonds wrapped in a helix pattern.

Earrings with sapphires so deep they resembled midnight pools.

The craftsmanship made my inner designer want to howl with delight.

"Fresh collections will be delivered monthly," Geoffrey explained. "The latest from Alpha Hudson’s preferred jewelers."

I barely heard him. My fingers twitched to touch each piece, examining the settings and cuts. This was pure heaven for a jewelry designer.

I spent the rest of the morning in my room, surrounded by enough gemstones to fund a small country.

If Hudson had walked in right then, I might’ve forgotten our mateship was fake and thanked him properly.

When Carmen knocked for what had to be the twentieth time, I reluctantly pulled myself away from a tray of diamond chokers and went downstairs for breakfast.

After a meal I couldn’t even pronounce, I returned to my room and pulled out my BloomState collection pitch.

It had been rejected, but I wasn’t ready to abandon it.

I liked it. A lot.

It wasn’t trend-chasing nonsense designed to impress Violet. It was personal.

I’d decided that when I opened my own jewelry studio, BloomState would be my first line.

The morning’s jewelry haul had completely reignited my creativity. Seeing pieces from top designers was like a masterclass in stone setting and detail work.

I sketched new layout ideas, reworked my bezel placements, and experimented with a hybrid tension mount I’d been struggling with.

Then my phone rang.

"Hello?" I answered, my pencil still poised over a half-finished sketch.

"Christina, it’s Finn Stone," came the formal greeting.

"Yes, my favorite lawyer," I replied, recognizing the Alpha who was helping with my case.

He chuckled warmly through the phone. "Ten bucks says I’m the only lawyer you know personally."

"Ha, you caught me," I admitted.

"Are you busy right now?" he asked.

I spun a pencil between my fingers. "Believe it or not, I’m free as a bird."

"On a Monday morning?" Finn sounded surprised.

"Long story. What’s up?" I deflected, not wanting to explain my dramatic career exit.

"I was going to ask if you could meet later this evening, but if you’re free, want to come down to my office now? It’s about your case against Niall and Beatrice."

"You’ve reviewed the stuff I sent you?"

"All of it. Audio, video, it’s an absolute goldmine," Finn confirmed. "Since the defamation’s both written and spoken, I’m amending the complaint to include libel and slander. More charges, more damages, as we lawyers like to say."

"Good," I said, feeling a rush of satisfaction.

"I need to go over it all with you—evidence, potential witnesses, rough timeline, damage estimates, the works."

"Sounds like a long meeting."

"Might be. Don’t worry, I’ll buy you lunch if we go over."

"Deal."

Geoffrey offered to have the car brought around, but I waved him off; I was already feeling like an impostor in this luxury lifestyle.

At Finn’s office, he looked like the epitome of Alpha authority—tall, confident, dressed in an impeccable suit that screamed both wealth and power. As the Alpha, he commanded respect naturally, but in his lawyer persona, he was even more formidable.

"You look very professional today," I commented.

He grinned."Court appearance this afternoon. Gotta look the part or the judge assumes I’m just throwing around my Alpha status."

We got into the case while his Beta made notes in the corner.

Somewhere between dissecting screenshots and playing a particularly damning voice memo of Niall admitting he’d been seeing Beatrice behind my back, we took a break.

Finn leaned back in his chair. "Gotta say, I was shocked when I found out you and Niall were actually going through with the mating ceremony. Even more shocked when I heard you’d called it off. But after hearing all this," he gestured at the mountain of evidence I’d brought, "I’m honestly surprised you didn’t reject him sooner."

I gave a rueful laugh. "Yeah, love is blind, deaf, and possibly concussed. My wolf knew something was wrong for years, but I kept ignoring her. Took me forever to realize he wasn’t the mate I thought he was."

"So... are you adjusting to life without him?" he asked, his tone casual.

My brain immediately sprinted to Hudson.

Our fake marriage.

The fact that I was technically spoken for.

I must’ve paused too long, because Finn backtracked with a slight wince. "Sorry, I didn’t mean to pry into your personal business."

"No, it’s fine,"I cut in. "I’m... in a transitional period." Which, strictly speaking, wasn’t a lie.

Finn checked his watch. "You hungry? Let’s head out for lunch."

"Sure," I said, grabbing my phone and standing up. "But I’m buying."

He chuckled."Alright, but I’m picking the place. There’s this little bistro near Pack & Fifth Avenue. They’ve got the best spicy pasta in the city."

I blinked, surprised. "Ha. You remembered my favorite."

"Of course I did," he said.

Minutes later, we slid into a booth at the bistro and ordered.

Once the waiter left, I leaned back and said, "So. Catch me up. What’s life been like post-law school? You know my story now. What about yours? Leading the Ravenclaw Pack keeping you busy?"

He shook his head. "Alpha lawyer life is a black hole. Balancing pack duties with legal work kills any chance at romance. Plus..." he paused, his gaze warming as it settled on me, "I’m waiting for the right girl."
