Chapter 64: Chapter 64 Trophy Wife Treatment
Christina’s POV
It wasn’t until I’d marched out of the Nyx Collective building that reality hit me,I might have been a bit impulsive.
But damn, it felt amazing.
I was striding down the street when my phone rang.
"Luna Christina ," Dominic’s voice was formal through the speaker.
I physically cringed.Hearing it out loud was so much worse than seeing it in text.
"Mr. Everett."
"Please, call me Dom. I wanted to remind you," he continued in that efficient Beta tone, "if there’s no activity on the card, the account will be frozen before the next monthly deposit."
I stopped walking. "Frozen?"
"You must spend the funds. There needs to be transaction history, or the account locks automatically."
I stared blankly at a shop window, my reflection showing a woman who looked thoroughly confused.
What kind of ridiculous, high-maintenance Alpha mate card required "mandatory spending"?
"Got it. Thanks, Dominic."
As I was about to end the call, he added, "When will you be moving in with Alpha Hudson?"
Right. The move. That little detail in our arrangement I’d been conveniently ignoring. freёwebnovel.com
"I’m free this week—"
"Perfect. Today works. I’ll bring the team to you apartment now."
"Wait, I don’t need—"
The call ended.
I raced back to the apartment. When I arrived, Beta Dominic was already outside with three strangers, looking like they’d been waiting for hours.
"Luna Christina,"he said with a respectful nod,"this is Alpha Hudson’s housekeeper, and these two are household staff. They’ll assist with your packing."
My wolf bristled at the Luna title, but I managed a calm smile. "Thank you all."
They moved through my apartment with military precision—efficient, quiet, eerily thorough.
Within an hour, my entire life was packed away in boxes.
The place looked cleaner than when I’d moved in. Not a trace of my existence remained—no stray hair ties, no forgotten socks, not even the faint scent of last night’s takeout.
I’d planned to keep the apartment as an escape route, but beta Dominic’s crew had sterilized it so thoroughly it felt like I’d never lived there at all.
"Luna Christina, shall we?" The housekeeper, Geoffrey Croft, stood attentively by a luxury SUV. He was a mid-forties man with the kind of posture that suggested he’d spent years serving royalty.
I nodded. "Let’s go."
I already knew Hudson didn’t live in the main Laurent mansion—the site of that disaster party.
Geoffrey explained that his Alpha preferred a more private residence.
Hudson’s version of "private" turned out to be a stunning three-story white villa that looked almost modest from the outside—until the gates opened to reveal the true scope of the property.
A circular driveway. A multi-car garage. A sparkling swimming pool. Tennis courts. An outdoor entertainment area. Even a meticulously maintained vegetable garden.
My wolf paced restlessly, overwhelmed by the territory we were entering.
Dominic gave me a respectful nod. "I’ll return to the office, Luna. Geoffrey will show you around."
"Thanks."
Geoffrey guided me through the grounds with practiced efficiency.
In the backyard, I spotted a wooden swing hanging from a massive oak tree.
It looked exactly like the one from my childhood home, before Beatrice claimed it as "hers alone" and my parents enforced her ownership.
"Alpha Hudson has been abroad for several years," Geoffrey explained. "He purchased this property some time ago but only began residing here this year. Until recently, it was just myself and one other housekeeper. More staff have joined since. If anyone’s service is unsatisfactory, please inform me."
I nodded, trying to appear like this level of service was normal. "I will."
Inside, the house was extraordinary.
Each floor seemed to have its own zip code.
Spa room, home theater, security hub, panic room—my wolf was simultaneously impressed and unsettled by the vastness of our new territory.
I maintained a calm expression as Geoffrey detailed the amenities, not wanting to appear like some wide-eyed outsider who’d never seen a wine cellar before.
By tour’s end, my feet ached and my brain was saturated with information.
I collapsed onto the bed in "my room" for what was supposed to be a brief rest and fell into a deep sleep.
When I woke, darkness had fallen and someone was knocking at the door.
"Luna, it’s Carmen Alvarez," a woman’s voice called.
Likely the second housekeeper Geoffrey had mentioned.
"Luna, dinner is prepared."
Luna Christina.
The title still felt foreign, like a collar that hadn’t been broken in.
"I’ll be right down," I called.
I quickly changed clothes, slipped into new slippers that were perfectly my size, and made my way downstairs.
Hudson had sent a message earlier saying he wouldn’t return tonight.
My wolf had practically howled with relief at having space to adjust to our new territory.
The dining table looked like a magazine spread, everything arranged with such precision it seemed criminal to disturb it.
I ate with enthusiasm, savoring every bite of the expertly prepared meal.
Before I could set down my fork, a staff member appeared to clear my plate.
Another followed, all polished professionalism. "Would you prefer a digestif or coffee, Luna?"
"Coffee would be nice."
"Any preference? With cream? Sugar?"
"Just cream, no sugar."
"We have Jamaican Blue Mountain, Hawaiian Kona, or Saint Helena. Fresh ground, of course."
Before I could process these options, he continued smoothly, "Would you care for a stroll through the grounds? I’d be happy to guide you. Or perhaps a swim? I can heat the pool immediately."
I waved him off, growing agitated with all the attention.
This was too much.
I wasn’t accustomed to this level of service.
Sure, The Crescent pack was comfortable, but nothing close to this constant hovering and catering.
But now I was Hudson’s Luna.
On paper, at least.
And I needed to play the role convincingly enough that no one questioned our arrangement.
I sighed, settling into my gilded cage.
