Chapter 110: Chapter 110 Justice Served Cold
Christina’s POV
I was sketching a new pendant design when my phone chimed. A message from Finn Stone, the Alpha of Ravenclaw Pack and my lawyer. The trial against Niall was finally set.
"Court date confirmed," the message read. "Two weeks from today. Are you ready to face him?"
My pencil hovered over the page. Was I ready? The anger I’d carried for weeks had cooled to something harder, more determined.
"Ready as I’ll ever be," I texted back.
"Are you excited?" Akira’s voice rumbled in my mind.
"Not excited. Relieved. I want this over with."
I set down my sketchbook and walked to the window.
Initially, Hudson wanted Hannah to handle the case, but Finn had already put in significant work. They compromised by having Hannah’s team support Finn throughout the proceedings.
My phone rang again. Ysolde.
"Tell me everything," she demanded without preamble. "Is it true? Niall’s going to court?"
I laughed. "News travels fast through the packs."
"The Frostpelt Pack is in complete disarray over this," she said gleefully. "Everyone’s talking about it. Their precious Alpha spreading lies about his ex-fiancée? Scandalous!"
"He deserves everything coming to him," I said, dropping onto the couch.
"Calling you a cheater when he was the one sleeping with your sister? Absolute garbage," Ysolde growled. "I hope they make him grovel."
"Finn says it’s pretty much a slam dunk case," I told her.
"The Sabreridge pack throwing their weight behind this sends a clear message," Ysolde noted. "No one messes with Luna Christina."
I winced at the title. "I’m not officially—"
"You’re married to Alpha Hudson," she interrupted. "That makes you Luna of the strongest pack in the North. Own it, girl."
The trial came faster than I expected. I wore a navy suit and pulled my hair back. I wanted to look professional and confident. Nothing like the broken woman who used to let Niall hurt her.
Finn met me at the courthouse steps. He looked tall in his dark suit.
"You look ready," he said.
Hudson couldn’t come because of work. He sent Dominic instead to represent the pack.
The courtroom felt small when I walked in. Niall looked thinner than before. His clothes were wrinkled. We looked at each other for a second, then he looked away. I felt nothing. No anger or pain. Just empty.
The trial moved fast. Finn showed evidence of Niall’s social media posts and messages. Niall had told people I cheated on him. That was a lie to cover up his affair with Beatrice.
Niall’s lawyer said it was all a misunderstanding. Then Finn showed screenshots of conversations between Niall and his friends. In them, Niall said he wanted to "ruin that bitch’s reputation."
By noon, it was over. The judge ruled for me. Niall had to pay damages and apologize publicly.
"We won," Finn said as we left the courtroom. "Twenty thousand in damages, and he has to admit he lied."
I nodded. Victory felt strange. It should have felt better than this.
"Let me buy you lunch," Finn said. "To celebrate."
I thought about it, then agreed. Hudson was busy, and I deserved to celebrate somehow. freёwebnovel.com
We went to a small café near the courthouse. It had wooden booths and brick walls. The coffee smelled good.
"To justice," Finn said, raising his water glass. ƒreewebɳovel.com
I touched mine to his. "To closing this Chapter."
"You know," Finn said after our food came, "I’m impressed with how you handled this. Most wolves would have given up."
"I did give up," I said. "But then I got stronger."
Finn watched me as I talked. His eyes stayed on me longer than normal. Something was different in his expression.
"How’s married life?" he asked suddenly.
I almost choked on my salad. "It’s good. Different than I thought."
"Different how?" He leaned forward.
"Hudson is not what I expected," I said carefully. "He’s complicated."
"And you’re happy?" Finn played with his fork as he asked.
Akira whispered in my mind. "He’s interested in you. He’s fishing for information."
I told her she was being silly. He was just being friendly.
"Males don’t ask about happiness like that unless they want something," she replied.
I cleared my throat. "Yes, I’m happy. Hudson and I understand each other."
"Good," Finn said, but his smile looked fake.
We talked about safer things after that. My work, his cases, memories from school. But something felt unsaid between us.
After lunch, Finn paid for everything. "My treat. You’ve been through enough."
Outside, my phone buzzed. Ysolde had texted me: "OMG HAVE YOU SEEN THIS?? Niall finally posted his apology!"
Attached was a screenshot:
"I, Niall Granger, hereby publicly acknowledge and apologize for false statements made regarding Christina Vance. The allegations of infidelity were untrue and damaging. I retract all such claims and apologize for any harm caused."
Another text followed immediately: "He posted at 2AM and deleted it five minutes later! But I got receipts and I’m spreading them EVERYWHERE!"
I laughed out loud.
"Good news?" Finn asked.
"Niall tried to bury his apology by posting it in the middle of the night," I explained. "But my friend caught him."
"Classic," Finn snorted. "Coward till the end."
My phone rang again. Ysolde.
"I’m reposting it EVERYWHERE," she crowed without greeting. "And guess what? It’s going viral! Over two thousand reposts already!"
"How?" I frowned. My circle wasn’t that influential.
"Three guesses, and the first two don’t count," Ysolde said smugly. "Who has media connections, hates Niall, and happens to be married to you?"
Hudson. Of course.
"Niall and Beatrice’s wedding is being planned," Ysolde continued. "Talk about bad timing! Everyone’s calling him out as the cheater he is. The Frostpelt Pack’s reputation is in the toilet."
"They deserve each other," I said, a weight lifting from my shoulders.
"Beatrice won’t be welcomed as Luna there," Ysolde predicted. "Everyone knows she was the mistress who stole you from your fated mate. It’s the scandal of the year."
After hanging up, Finn walked me back toward Nyx.
"Would you like to get dinner sometime?" he asked suddenly. "To celebrate properly. Somewhere nicer than this."
Akira said smugly in my mind, "Told you so."
"I appreciate the offer, Finn," I said gently. "But I should celebrate with Hudson. He’s been supportive through all this."
"Of course," Finn nodded. I saw disappointment flash across his face. "Just thought I’d ask."
We were about to say goodbye when a car sped past us. It was going too fast for the narrow street.
"Watch out!" Finn called.
I had stepped toward the curb. Finn grabbed my waist and pulled me back to safety.
