The tide of the battle was turning, and the ones turning it were two new recruits who were cutting through the army like it was nothing.
"Everyone, we have to go help them!" the lady said. She turned into light and shot down into the battlefield.
The others followed right away.
The tide of the war was changing. If they did not step in now, the momentum would die.
Sensing the chaos, soldiers from the other side rushed in too, since the darkspawns over there had started moving this way.
"We will help you both!" the lady shouted to Sylvia and Caelus from behind. She tackled a darkspawn, ice bursting out from her hands.
"Thanks." Caelus smiled and rose into the air.
It was time to test out his Star King talent.
Caelus raised one hand to the sky.
[Star Sword Formation activated]
Light gathered above his head. Swords of pure starlight formed in the air. Five. Ten. Twenty. Thirty.
Then he swept his hands together. All thirty swords flew to one point and fused, layer over layer, into a single giant blade the size of a mountain. Its edge burned so bright that it turned the dark clouds above white.
He swung his hands forward and pointed them at the sword.
Boom!
The air split apart as the giant sword came down.
The moment it landed, the darkspawns, who were not even as big as the sword’s tip, began falling apart.
"W-What the hell." The others could not stay calm seeing this. It shocked them beyond words.
But even with those darkspawns dead, more came pouring in from every side of the field.
It was like they would never stop.
The soldiers and experts calmed down fast and got ready to fight.
Yet before they could even move, Caelus was already in action.
He picked out a single darkspawn near the front, a big one with a cracked back.
[Origin Lock activated]
A thin card formed above the darkspawn, and the next moment it split.
It jumped to the beast beside it, then the next, chaining across the whole field. A faint red mark bloomed on the chest or forehead of every beast that shared the darkspawn’s origin.
Millions. That was how many got marked.
Then a card formed in Caelus’s hands.
Caelus did not hesitate. He pressed his telekinesis onto the card and crushed it.
That was all it took.
Across the whole battlefield, millions of marked darkspawns died in the same second. They dropped mid charge. Black smoke burst from every corner of the field.
Everyone watching was tongue-tied.
They all stared at Caelus, who looked like a god who had come down from the sky.
"A-Are you sure that guy is just a soldier?" one of the experts asked the lady who had been lecturing the two only moments ago.
They all gulped.
Even though your powers were boosted inside the Abyss, that did not mean any of them could pull off something like this.
But just then, the clouds changed.
They turned a shade of grey, and a pressure dropped over the field like a giant hand pressing down on every chest at once.
Everyone’s heart skipped a beat.
Some even dropped to their knees in shock.
It was an ancient, crushing aura.
A beam of light shot down from the sky and crashed into the ground.
Once the smoke cleared, a figure stood there. He had ash-colored skin and two sharp horns curving up from his forehead. He wore a battle robe and held a greatsword in his hand.
Caelus’s face filled with shock when he saw the man.
This man... it was none other than the Hollow King.

Sylvia turned serious too and moved right next to Caelus.
The Hollow King had his eyes locked only on Caelus.

"Have you come to test me?" the Hollow King went on. "Have you come to see if I am worthy of my power?"
"I will give it my all, Ender of Origin. I will use every bit of my power to beat you and show the world that my wrath can crush even an ender."

A terrifying aura poured out of the man and crashed down on Caelus and Sylvia.
Sylvia went pale and quickly activated Origin Blood Blessing, buffing them both.
The Hollow King raised his greatsword and pointed it at Caelus.
Then he attacked. His figure blurred like he had teleported, and the next moment he was right beside Caelus.
Caelus threw himself sideways. The greatsword cut the air where he had stood, and the wind alone knocked a row of soldiers flat a hundred meters away. The blade hit the ground and the whole field jumped.
A chain of darkness erupted from the king and shot at Caelus, who quickly dodged using Projection Frame.
As soon as he dodged it, Caelus activated Chaos Perception Eyes, stunning the king and slowing down time.
Boom!
His figure blurred as the Ruyi Jingu Bang appeared in his hand.
"Get bigger, Ruyi."

The Ruyi Jingu Bang grew huge right away.
This time it was even bigger than a mountain. It came crashing down on the Hollow King. Caelus was going all out, hoping to crush him in one shot.

The Hollow King looked like he was in the same boat.
Right now, their powers seemed evenly matched.
The next instant, hollow flames burst out of the Hollow King and shot toward Caelus at huge speed.
Before they could reach him, he used Ranged Barrier.
He had already gotten the skill back from the skill evolution card.
The barrier held the flames until they died out on their own.
Caelus activated Telekinesis. Debris shot up from the ground and flew straight at the Hollow King.
The Hollow King swung his sword at once, breaking the debris into even smaller pieces.
Caelus used this chance to activate Projection Frame. With his stronger eyes, everything slowed down as he moved at insane speed, leaving the area.
He was setting up a trick.
Down below, Sylvia weaved her hands. Red threads shot through the air, slicing past the debris and wrapping around the Hollow King in an instant.
She flicked her wrist once, and the cutting force of the threads tied the Hollow King up and squeezed in on him.
Wounds opened up all over him right away.
Sylvia and Caelus moved the moment they saw this, attacking the Hollow King together. For a split second, their figures were like light shooting across the sky, clashing with massive force for hours.
They burned through almost all of their power. The moment Caelus felt they were running low...
He had to use Calamity Punch with Chaos Dragon Body now.
Calamity Punch was his ticket to victory. It had six combos, with the sixth doing immense damage and if even one of them missed, the whole gamble would fail. He had too little CA left for Volcra, and he doubted Volcra could do much anyway, so using it was too risky. But Calamity Punch gave him iframes, which meant he could not take damage no matter what.
The king moved first. He swung the greatsword in a wide arc, sending waves of dark energy forward.
But to the king’s surprise, Caelus stepped right into it as he activated Chaos Dragon Body and Calamity Punch.

His fist met the king’s chest.
Punch One!
The blow landed like a falling building. The king’s guard caved in and he slid back across the field with a shocked look.

The air cracked. A boom rolled across the field. The king’s robes tore open and his ash-grey skin split.

Caelus drove it into the king’s stomach and folded the giant over. The ground sank a full meter beneath them.

Caelus’s fist met the greatsword head on and shattered it.
Punch Five!
The blow caught the king under the jaw and lifted his whole body off the ground.
Caelus reared back.
The world flashed black and white. In that moment, endless might erupted from his fist as the power of calamity surged through it.

His whole body lit up, and behind him the sky cracked apart in long burning lines.

[Calamity awakened]
The iframes wrapped around him, making the Hollow King’s attempt to hurt him useless. The sky split wide and meteors rained down. The ground heaved and tore. Lightning fell sideways. Storms screamed up and circled the field. Every disaster the world had a name for happened all in one place.
The Hollow King stood there, taking the calamity head on.
He was still staring deeply at Caelus, like he was thinking about something.
"Break free from the Abyss. The portal is at the southern gate." the Hollow King said one last time before his body fell apart completely.
