Chapter 345: Chapter 320: Casually Backstabbing a Friend (Part 3)
Wen Ying extended a hand, pointing at the Black Cat. "Didn’t I say the Black Cat is my friend? Why don’t any of you believe me?"
The Black Cat, "???"
’So this human really thinks of me as a friend?’
’I suddenly feel a little guilty. I almost misunderstood this human.’
’I even almost attacked her. I really am stupid!’
MEOW MEOW MEOW~
The Black Cat’s bristling fur smoothed down again.
The Kobold didn’t want to think about these twists and turns. It looked directly at the Black Cat. "Black Cat, do you agree to take out your dried fish and offer it to our guest? If you agree, your punishment for today can be lightened."
The Black Cat, "..."
"I agree." The Black Cat’s fur trembled in fear.
"No, you don’t agree, and I don’t agree either!" Wen Ying looked at the Black Cat, speaking with righteous indignation. "I gave you that dried fish! That means it’s yours and yours alone, and no one else can take it! Otherwise, my gift would look like a joke! You, and only you, must eat my dried fish!"
"Human, are you messing with me?" The Kobold wasn’t stupid; it had already figured it out.
The atmospheric pressure around the Kobold dropped rapidly!
It felt as if the very space around them was about to freeze.
Wen Ying’s eyes widened as she looked at the Kobold. "That’s right, I’m messing with you. You’re only just now figuring that out? I thought you would’ve realized it ages ago."
POP! POP! POP!
The sound of light bulbs shattering!
CRASH! Shards rained down onto the floor.
This was the first time Wen Ying had seen such a powerful monster.
It was stronger than any monster she had encountered before, able to cause such a huge impact and damage to the surroundings with its will alone.
The NPCs all scurried away, covering their heads in panic!
As the Black Cat was about to flee, it glanced back at Wen Ying, who was standing there blankly, looking as if she were scared stiff.
MEOW!
The Black Cat cried out at Wen Ying, as if trying to snap her out of it.
After meowing, the Black Cat also ran away.
The lights in this space, even after all the bulbs and tubes had shattered, continued to flicker nonstop.
CREAK... CREAK...
Despite the ceiling having been bare just a moment ago, a large ceiling fan suddenly appeared, the kind that hangs from the roof.
The old, decrepit fan, a common sight in horror movies, let out creaking sounds, looking like it could fall at any moment.
The fall of an old fan signifies the loss of a life.
Sometimes, as the fan wobbled, a bloody head would appear on top of it.
All these sorts of horror elements appeared before Wen Ying’s very eyes!
And they appeared out of thin air!
’This Dog-headed Monster’s abilities really aren’t half-bad!’
’It’s given me a nice surprise.’
Seeing Wen Ying look up at the fan that could fall and smash onto her head at any moment, the Dog-headed Monster was very Satisfied.
It waited for her to be smashed into a pulp.
[Damn! They say art imitates life! I never thought the elements from horror movies were actually real!]
[So you’re saying the directors who make horror movies have all seen stuff like this?]
[When a fan falls, someone always dies. Doctor Wen isn’t in trouble, is she?]
[I think the one who’s in for it is definitely this Dog-headed Monster!]
[Is the next scene going to be the Dog-headed Monster’s head hanging from the fan? I mean, based on how the plot is going, none of the other NPCs dare to show up, so doesn’t it have to provide the horror elements itself?]
"Are you scared now, human?"
"A pity your fear came too late. Don’t even think about running. You can’t escape my Domain! You will die today, without a doubt!"
’Domain?’
This was the first time Wen Ying had heard this term.
From what she understood, a Domain was likely an area enveloped by this Dog-headed Monster’s aura.
Within this area, any monster or person not stronger than the Dog-headed Monster would be unable to escape its Domain.
That was why the Dog-headed Monster was so supremely confident.
"Human, I’ll give you one last chance. Bring out your food, and I can leave you with an intact corpse. Don’t you humans care about dying a proper death, about being buried whole? I can grant you that opportunity."
"If you’re already dead, who cares about an intact corpse?" Wen Ying was both baffled and mocking. "Your education in human culture is lacking. You aimed for a tiger but drew a dog. Ever heard that one?"
"So you’re saying you’d rather die than hand it over?"
Wen Ying shook her head. "’A bad life is better than a good death.’ Let’s say I’m teaching you that phrase for free today, too. Next time, I’ll have to charge. At the going rate in the human world, one lesson costs a thousand. See, I’ve already given you two thousand’s worth. Why are you still so fixated on my dried fish? Do you think I’m the kind of person who sells out a friend? I can’t just give you something that belongs to a friend just because you’re powerful, can I?"
Just as the Kobold was about to ramp up the horror, it only heard the human continue, "But I can spare you a bag of spicy strips."
