Chapter 336: Chapter 317: Angering Oneself to Death

Wen Ying waited for over ten minutes, but there was still no activity.

Flipping over the bedding, she found a notebook hidden underneath.

A worn and yellowed notebook.

Wen Ying, wearing gloves, picked up the notebook. There were faint red streaks on its yellowed cover.

The red had faded somewhat, but its traces were still visible.

It looked like the color of faded blood.

There was no writing on the cover. Wen Ying opened it and saw two large words: Last Will.

’Whose last will is this?’

But below the words, nothing was written.

It was blank. The paper should have been yellowed with age, but this page was stark white.

As if it had been covered with correction fluid.

Flipping to the next page, she found a single large word: Curse.

The rest of the pages were all blank.

Wen Ying flipped through the entire notebook, then set it down. "System, is there any product that can restore the text from before it was corrected?"

[Yes.]

[But the mystery of this notebook must be solved by the Host herself, without the help of external items.]

"Reputation value?"

[Not even with reputation value this time, Host.]

Wen Ying didn’t ask again.

Lying down on an empty bed, Wen Ying looked around.

There was a small door. She opened it to find a storage room inside.

It contained bedding and other things. Wen Ying casually took out a cloth and used it to wipe down her bed.

She then grabbed a washbasin from the storage room and, carrying it, headed out of the dorm.

The location of the restrooms was obvious, marked for men and women, but the labels were in English.

Each side had three stalls, with a row of sinks outside.

In the filthy basement, the women’s restroom was surprisingly clean. It wasn’t dirty at all.

It didn’t even have the strange smell that permeated the rest of the basement.

It felt completely out of place.

’Is it just the women’s restroom that’s like this, or is the men’s side the same?’

Standing at the sinks, Wen Ying glanced toward the entrance of the men’s restroom.

’Just one peek shouldn’t hurt, right?’

With that thought, Wen Ying walked over. "Anyone in the restroom?"

"Anyone in here?"

"Anyone in the men’s room?"

There was no response.

Wen Ying walked up and poked her head in for a look.

"Are you crazy!"

A man suddenly rushed out of the men’s room. He stared at Wen Ying, his heart still pounding, and upon seeing her face, he clearly remembered her as the psycho from the cafeteria.

Just as Wen Ying was about to explain, the man ran off without looking back.

He didn’t even wash his hands.

Wen Ying was speechless. She didn’t look again; a nauseating smell wafted out from the men’s room.

It seemed only the women’s restroom was an exception, as if someone cleaned it every day. The air inside was even better than outside.

Wen Ying left the restroom carrying the basin of water.

As she passed a lit dorm room, she seemed to overhear someone talking about a "psycho."

Carrying the water back to her room, Wen Ying found a pillow towel, soaked it in the water, and wiped down her bed and the surrounding area.

Lying flat on the clean wooden bed boards, Wen Ying stretched languidly.

[Is Doctor Wen planning to rest? Should the livestream continue?]

Wen Ying narrowed her eyes and sat up. "Isn’t everyone interested in the basement at night? I think I’ll go get some water to drink."

The only problem was, she hadn’t heard of any snack shop around.

She had already walked through the entire basement and hadn’t seen anywhere to buy things.

Wen Ying returned to the cafeteria, planning to ask the head chef for some drinkable water.

But unexpectedly, the cafeteria was pitch-black, without a single soul in sight.

Wen Ying returned to the dormitory area and started knocking on doors. "Does anyone know where I can buy water?"

She knocked on five doors, and only one opened.

A head poked out. "Psy... Boss! There’s nowhere to buy things in the basement. If you want water, Boss, you’ll probably have to go to the first floor of the old castle. There’s a security office there with hot water."

Wen Ying looked at the ordinary-looking young man. He had a decent face; he didn’t seem like a bad person.

"Thank you."

Hearing this, the young man’s face flushed, and he lowered his head.

When he looked up again, Wen Ying was already gone.

He closed the door, his mind a whirl of thoughts.

Wen Ying walked toward the basement entrance, only to encounter a pig-headed monster at the doorway.

"It’s dark out! You can’t leave! Go back to your dorm immediately, or you’ll be dealt with for violating the rules!"

Wen Ying walked toward the pig-headed monster. "Oh, is that you? I didn’t expect you to be alright. I’ve been feeling so guilty. I’m relieved to see you’re safe and sound."

Only then did the pig-headed monster see Wen Ying’s face. In the dim yellow light, she looked like a Demon incarnate.

The pig-headed monster immediately backed away. "Y-y-you... You’re just a janitor! You can’t assault a mental hospital’s... s-s-s... staff!"

He had clearly recognized this Demon.

The psychological trauma wasn’t something that could be erased overnight. The pig-headed monster stared at Wen Ying, terrified that she would suddenly fly into a rage and attack him again.

"Aren’t janitors also employees of the mental hospital?" Wen Ying looked at the pig-headed monster, displeased. "How can you discriminate against the janitorial position? Does your supervisor know about this? Does the director know?"

The pig-headed monster was on the verge of tears. "Stop talking! Just go! Whatever happens has nothing to do with me! Hurry up and leave!"

Wen Ying, "..." ’Why does it look like I’m bullying this poor pig-headed monster?’

’Am I that kind of person?’

Of course she was!

"No, no, no, how could I just leave like that? We’re old acquaintances, brought together again by fate. Why don’t you do me a favor?"

The pig-headed monster’s body kept backing away. He originally thought today’s work would be simple, but he never expected to run into this demonic surprise.

"You wouldn’t refuse, would you?" Her gloved hand shot out and grabbed the pig-headed monster by the collar. Wen Ying gazed at him gently.

The pig-headed monster, "..."

’This has to be the most gentle threat ever, right?’

"Wh-what favor?"

"It’s actually very simple. I’m not one to make things difficult for others. I’m a bit thirsty. I need water—clean water, understand? Clean, bottled mineral water would be best."

The pig-headed monster, "..."

’What does this human think this mental hospital is?’

’A tourist spot? A vacation resort?’

’Are we supposed to open a supermarket just for her?’

"It’s such a small request. You won’t say no, will you?"

Wen Ying narrowed her eyes, which crinkled into a smile.

But in the eyes of the pig-headed monster, a Demon’s smile was a trap—an appetizer before the main course!

’She’s smiling now, but the next second she could just SNAP you in two!’

This was a lesson he had learned through the blood and tears of personal experience!

"Water, water, water, I know where there’s water."

And so, a strange scene unfolded.

The NPC in front walked with trepidation, while the janitor behind followed, carefree and relaxed.

Once they were out of the basement entrance, the pig-headed monster pointed toward the second floor of the old castle.

"There’s a room on the second floor specifically for storing clean water. You can go in. There’s... there’s... bottled mineral water."

Wen Ying was surprised. "I didn’t realize your mental hospital was so modern. I thought you all just used water from kettles."

The pig-headed monster shook its head. "The leadership likes to drink water from the human world."

"Then tell me, how many leaders are there in this hospital, and what are they in charge of?"
