Chapter 149: Chapter 149: Once It Starts, There’s No Turning Back

"I’m the owner here," Troy Wright said.

"Then who’s Timothy Quinn?"

The corners of Damian Morgan’s lips turned up in a dangerous smile. "Or perhaps I should call him... Conor Sullivan?"

At these words, the color drained from Troy Wright’s face.

Before he could react, the door to the lounge was pushed open, and a young man leaning on a metal cane limped out.

The man was none other than Timothy Quinn.

He smiled at Damian Morgan. "Mr. Morgan, are you here for revenge, or something else?"

"What revenge would I be looking for?"

"You’ve figured out my real identity. Aren’t you here to get even with me for sleeping with your wife?"

Damian Morgan burst out laughing. "The past has nothing to do with me."

"Oh?"

Timothy Quinn’s interest was clearly piqued. He walked over to the sofa, sat down, and gestured for Troy Wright to leave.

After the middle-aged man left, only he and Damian Morgan remained in the office. "Mr. Morgan, if you’re not here for revenge, then what do you want from me?"

"Back when I hired Troy Wright to investigate Vianne Kane, you’d already looked into my background, hadn’t you?"

"I had."

"Why did you provide me with leverage against Vianne Kane?"

"I saw you were in a pitiful state and wanted to help you out."

The smile vanished from Damian Morgan’s face. "Did you want to help me, or did you want to use me to get revenge on the Kane family?"

"Both."

"What do you want? Just say it."

Seeing Damian Morgan get straight to the point so readily, Timothy Quinn didn’t beat around the bush either. "I’ll help you get the Kane Group. When it’s done, give me forty percent of the company’s shares. Also, I want to destroy Vianne Kane."

Damian Morgan had no feelings for Vianne Kane. What he disliked about Timothy Quinn’s terms was that forty percent of the shares was too much. But he had no powerful backer; he was on his own. One wrong move, and he would lose everything.

Sophie Shaw already had a powerful backer in the Blackwood family. He didn’t want to lose to her and become a laughingstock.

’I have to win this. I’ll show Sophie Shaw that in the end, I’m the one who will be standing on top.’

"Fine."

"I want to sleep with Vianne Kane tonight," Timothy Quinn said bluntly.

Damian Morgan fell silent for a moment, lost in thought. "Tonight, she’s attending a charity gala at a five-star hotel. I’ll be with her. Book a room in advance, and I’ll find a way to get her to you."

"Your own wife, and you’re just going to hand her over like that?"

"I have my own conditions, of course."

Timothy Quinn lit a cigarette, leaned back against the sofa, and asked unhurriedly, "What conditions?"

Damian Morgan pulled a photo from his pocket and tossed it in front of him.

"Arrange for a few people to teach this woman a lesson."

"Also, after it’s done, make Vianne Kane believe that the woman in this photo is the one who sent her to you."

Timothy Quinn narrowed his eyes. He picked up the photo from the coffee table, surprised to find that he recognized the woman.

Wasn’t this Vianne Kane’s stepsister, Sophie Shaw?

He had been secretly keeping tabs on everything related to the Kane family, so of course he was familiar with Sophie Shaw.

"She’s Alaric Blackwood’s woman. You dare to touch her?"

He tossed the photo back in front of Damian Morgan, took a sharp drag from his cigarette, and sneered, "You’ve got some nerve, Mr. Morgan."

"What, are you scared?"

"Antagonizing Alaric Blackwood is risky. Are you sure you want to go after this woman?"

Timothy Quinn’s demeanor suggested he didn’t want to make an enemy of Alaric Blackwood, but Damian Morgan wasn’t flustered at all. He smiled and said, "I’ve already told Vianne Kane that Sophie Shaw was the one who revealed her affair with you. She probably already hates Sophie’s guts. Even if you don’t want to get involved in this mess, you can’t stay out of it now."

"Besides, even if Vianne Kane finds out I’m cheating, I’m not afraid. I have dirt on her, so she won’t dare to ask for a divorce."

"And another thing, Sophie Shaw and Alaric Blackwood are only in a contract marriage. You don’t have to worry. Alaric Blackwood doesn’t have many feelings for her."

Timothy Quinn raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure?"

"Positive, absolutely, and without a doubt. Alaric Blackwood’s assistant was my source. It can’t be fake."

"Interesting."

Timothy Quinn picked up the photo from the coffee table again. Looking at the woman with the gentle smile in the picture, his dark eyes lit up slightly. "She’s very beautiful."

"Like what you see?"

"Who doesn’t like a beautiful woman?"

"Arrange for someone to take care of her as soon as possible."

After saying his piece, Damian Morgan didn’t hurry to leave. He remembered the call from Lydia Wynn and asked Timothy Quinn, "Do you have anything like tracking devices or bugs here?"

"You need one?"

"I plan on planting it in Alaric Blackwood’s car. It’ll help me keep track of his latest movements."

The moment he heard Alaric Blackwood’s name, the smile in Timothy Quinn’s eyes deepened. "Do you have a grudge against Alaric Blackwood?"

"I couldn’t say. I just plain don’t like him."

"The guy’s a monster. Are you sure you want to provoke him?"

Timothy Quinn had seen with his own eyes what Alaric Blackwood was like when he went berserk. It was about three years ago. Right after he’d opened his first bar with Troy Wright’s help, Alaric was a customer one night. He saw a few drunks harassing a girl, hitting her and trying to rip her clothes off. Alaric stepped in to do the right thing. He walked away without a scratch, but he’d beaten the drunks so badly they were black and blue and couldn’t get up from the floor. They had at least seven or eight broken ribs among them.

Back then, he’d thought Alaric Blackwood was insane. And that was before considering his background: his father, Quentin Blackwood, was new money, and his mother, Mandy Halloway, was the daughter of a high-ranking official. Alaric Blackwood himself was the third generation of wealth and political power.

Those people had been navigating the worlds of business and politics for years. Their network was not to be underestimated.

"If he gets in my way, then he’s my enemy." Damian Morgan’s eyes turned sinister.

Timothy Quinn said nothing, but a subtle smile played on his lips.

’He’s discovering that Damian Morgan was pretty crazy, too.’

’They’re all fucking lunatics!’

’Crazier than I am.’

"I’m just asking you to arrange the manpower. Just do it cleanly so no one can trace it back to you. Isn’t that enough?"

Timothy Quinn sneered. "Wrong. If it is traced back, it’ll be because you instigated it. I’m just the middleman."

"We sink or swim together, and you’re already trying to shift the blame before we’ve even started. How can I trust you, Conor Sullivan?"

Hearing his real name, the expression on Timothy Quinn’s face changed instantly.

"Wasn’t it Chief Justice Halloway, Mandy Halloway’s father, who ruined your Sullivan family back then? And Alaric Blackwood is Mandy Halloway’s son." Damian Morgan added fuel to the fire. "Don’t tell me you don’t want to get your revenge."

He felt that Timothy Quinn was constantly testing him, so he decided to be blunt. "We have a common enemy, don’t we?"

"Judge Halloway has already passed away from illness. Who do you want me to take revenge on?"

"Get revenge on his daughter’s family. Don’t you want that?"

Timothy Quinn gritted his teeth. freewebnoveℓ.com

’Of course I do. But I’ve only just managed to get my life back on stable ground. I can’t act rashly.’

"Why do you have so much animosity towards Alaric Blackwood?"

Damian Morgan shrugged. "I hate that he’s had everything since the day he was born. I hate his superior attitude."

’I hate that he married Sophie Shaw, that he’s helping her...’

"That’s jealousy," Timothy Quinn said, cutting right to the heart of the matter.

Damian Morgan laughed. "Perhaps."

"Think it through. Once we start, there’s no turning back. Are you sure you want to go up against Alaric Blackwood?"

"I have no other choice."

A corner of Timothy Quinn’s mouth lifted. He made a call, summoning Troy Wright into the room, and told him to take the tracking and listening devices and leave with Damian Morgan.
