Chapter 133: Chapter 133: She Stole My Sweetheart
"That won’t be necessary."
Damian Morgan brushed Lydia Wynn’s hand away. "Don’t touch me."
"Hah."
Lydia Wynn let out a cold laugh. "Don’t get the wrong idea, Mr. Morgan. I’m not interested in you."
"Then why did you ask to meet me?"
"I want to work with you."
"You’re just an assistant. What kind of collaboration could we possibly have?"
"I don’t like Sophie Shaw. She stole the man I love."
This piqued Damian Morgan’s interest. "The man you love?"
’Alaric Blackwood?’
’A mere assistant is actually coveting her own boss?’
"She took the position that should have been mine. Even though she and Alaric Blackwood only have a contract marriage, her presence makes me feel very insecure."
"A contract marriage?"
"You never considered that possibility?"
Damian Morgan really hadn’t considered this, nor did he know about it. He had assumed Sophie Shaw and Alaric Blackwood’s marriage was real, never expecting them to have signed a contract.
"If it’s just a contract marriage, what do you have to worry about?"
"Like I said, I don’t like Sophie Shaw."
’She was terrified, terrified that Alaric would actually fall for Sophie.’
’They’ve been living together since they got married. A man and a woman, alone under the same roof. What if something happens...’
’She didn’t dare to imagine the consequences.’
In her memory and perception, Alaric Blackwood liked her, cared about her.
Back in high school, her family was in a dire situation, and she couldn’t afford her tuition. It was Alaric Blackwood who helped her. If he didn’t like her, if he didn’t care for her, why would he have helped? Why would he have had Quentin Blackwood sponsor and groom her?
For all these years, she had never forgotten his kindness and had worked hard to become someone worthy of him.
She had been assisting him ever since he returned to the country, but after he decided to marry Sophie Shaw, he began to keep his distance. He stopped giving her work and even hired a new male assistant.
His actions truly broke her heart and left her with no choice but to worry.
"What do you want to do?"
Lydia Wynn’s gaze darkened, her expression turning vicious. "I want her to divorce Alaric Blackwood and get the hell out of his life."
"Do you have a plan?"
"I do, but I don’t have anyone I can use. I was wondering if you could help me, Mr. Morgan?"
"I’ll consider your proposal."
"Just consider? Once Sophie Shaw and Alaric Blackwood are divorced, she’ll have no one to back her up. Isn’t that beneficial for you? If you don’t get rid of her, how long can you maintain your status as the Kane family’s son-in-law?"
Damian Morgan’s face darkened.
’He was indeed wary of Sophie Shaw. She knew his past, his true identity, and his dark history crystal clear. To him, Sophie was a ticking time bomb that could explode at any moment, triggering a chain reaction.’
’He couldn’t let Sophie succeed in her career. She would suppress him, look down on him from her high horse, and despise him.’
"Think it over, Mr. Morgan. I’ll be leaving now."
Lydia Wynn gave him a slight smile, then stood up and left the private room.
Meanwhile, Sophie Shaw found Nina Halloway in private room 888.
The scene inside was already complete chaos.
Jaden was standing in front of the sofa, tugging at Nina Halloway, trying to take her with him.
There were many people in the room. Anne and Ethan Austin were both there, but the ones surrounding Nina Halloway were the ten male models she had requested.
Just as Anne had said, the models were all remarkably handsome, with enviable physiques.
Nina Halloway had very high standards; she had requested the club’s top ten most popular models.
"What are you doing here? Can’t you see I’m having fun?"
Nina Halloway shook off Jaden’s hand and grabbed a glass from the coffee table, downing another drink. She reached out to wrap an arm around the model next to her. "Be a dear and pour me another drink."
Seeing her with her drunken, hazy eyes, her arm slung around a model, Jaden’s anger flared.
"Have you made enough of a scene?"
Nina Halloway looked up, confused. "What scene am I making?"
"Aren’t you just doing this on purpose, trying to stir up trouble because you saw me go public with my relationship? You’re already trending online. Do you not care at all about your public image?" ƒгeewёbnovel.com
"If my public image was excellent, absolutely perfect, would you not have cheated on me?"
Jaden was choked speechless, at a loss for words.
Nina Halloway scoffed, amused by Jaden’s baffling behavior. "If you don’t like me, then stop meddling in my business. It has nothing to do with you anymore."
"So I’m just supposed to watch you throw your life away and have no self-respect?"
"How am I not respecting myself? I’m having fun. Can’t I go out and have some fun when I’m unhappy? Just because I’m a public figure, I can’t be like a normal person and have my own emotions? I can’t even vent?"
Nina Halloway had never thought being a big star was anything special. She only entered the entertainment industry because she loved acting.
She took the glass from the model, downed the freshly poured drink, and said to Jaden, "Stop bothering me. Just go."
"Nina..."
"Go on. Go be with your girlfriend."
Jaden’s heart ached unexpectedly. He remembered how Nina Halloway had roared at him to get lost that day. It was the first time since he’d known her that he had seen her lose control of her emotions.
"Garland, you should just go," Sophie Shaw said, stepping forward to persuade him.
Jaden’s eyes turned red. "Look at the state she’s in. If I don’t look after her, who knows what might happen."
"I’m here, and so is her bodyguard. What could happen?"
Jaden’s gaze shifted to Ethan Austin, who was sitting silently in a corner of the room.
After hesitating for a few seconds, he walked over and said to Ethan Austin, "Come outside with me for a moment."
Ethan Austin didn’t move from his seat.
Jaden grabbed him and dragged him out.
After forcibly dragging Ethan Austin outside the private room, he instructed him repeatedly, "Keep a close eye on Nina Halloway. It’s fine if those models just drink and chat with her, but don’t let her do anything out of line."
"You don’t need to remind me."
Ethan Austin knew what his job was.
He turned and went back into the room.
Nina Halloway stared at him, and when she saw he was the only one who returned, the desolation in her expression was impossible to hide. Her eyes reddened and welled up with tears.
She picked up her glass and chugged a large gulp of alcohol, letting the burn in her throat be an excuse for her tears to fall.
"This drink is so strong, it’s making my eyes water."
She said with a laugh, wiping away a tear and asking the model to add a few more ice cubes to her glass.
Seeing that she had only come to the bar to get drunk—and though she had ordered many models, she wasn’t doing anything extreme, just having them drink and chat with her—Sophie Shaw breathed a small sigh of relief.
She walked over to Anne, got the manager’s contact information, and stepped outside the room to make a call.
She had to call three times before the other person finally picked up.
The manager had seen the news about Nina Halloway trending and had already contacted the PR team to suppress it.
Learning that the matter was being handled, Sophie Shaw hung up and returned to the room.
"Want to have a drink with me?" Nina Halloway asked.
She shook her head, moved past a few of the models, and sat down next to Nina Halloway.
"I have to drive home later, so I can’t drink with you today."
"I’m fine. You should go home and get some rest."
"Nina, some people are best let go. It’s time for a fresh start."
Nina Halloway smiled and nodded, though tears were welling in her eyes. "I will let go. Doesn’t everyone have a few people who are just passing through their life?"
It’s just that this particular passerby had lived in her heart for over a decade, and she would need a lot more time to let him go.
