Chapter 504: Chapter 504: Mika Summers vs. Tristan Grayson (4)
Silas Kent sneered, said nothing more, and left.
Seeing Silas Kent leave, a sudden and unbearable sadness washed over Mika Summers for no apparent reason...
"Let’s go," Ian Shaw said coolly, walking up to her side.
"Yeah."
「Anhurst Hospital.」
By the time Mika Summers and Ian Shaw arrived, Tristan Grayson had already been moved to a VIP room.
A bitter feeling welled up inside Mika Summers as she watched the man lying on the bed, hooked up to an IV.
’For Aria Joyce, he’d been willing to throw his life away. Hadn’t he thought about her? Hadn’t he thought about their son? If something had really happened to him, if he had died, what would she and their son have done?’
With her eyes rimmed in red, she sat down in a chair without saying a word.
Tristan Grayson didn’t speak either, simply turning his head to look at her.
Sensing the tense atmosphere between the two, Ian Shaw could only offer an awkward greeting before excusing himself to check on Aria Joyce in the adjacent room.
After Ian Shaw left, Tristan Grayson finally spoke, his voice hoarse. "I made you worry..."
"I wasn’t worried. I would never worry about you," Mika Summers said angrily, turning her head away from Tristan Grayson.
"Then why are you crying...?" Hearing her say one thing while meaning another, Tristan Grayson’s eyes began to sting, and his heart ached for her.
"Who’s crying? I’m not crying. I just got something in my eye."
"Okay, you’re not crying. I was the one crying. I thought I was never going to see you again."
Hearing Tristan Grayson’s words, Mika Summers could no longer hold back her tears. She whipped her head around to face him, crying out in anger, "Tristan Grayson, look at you! You can’t even save yourself, yet you want to go save someone else? Did you ever stop to think what I would do if you died?"
"It won’t happen again."
"You want there to be a next time? Tristan Grayson, I’m telling you, if you dare die, if you dare let anything happen to you, I’ll marry Silas Kent immediately. I won’t waste a single moment being sad over you."
Her words made Tristan Grayson’s expression falter for a moment. Then, his lips twisted into a bitter smile. "Actually, that would be for the best."
’For the best?’
Mika Summers’s crying stopped. She stood up and stared at Tristan Grayson for a long time before her voice came out in a choked sob. "Tristan Grayson, are you starting to despise me?"
"No, how could I ever despise you? I was just thinking that if I really died, I wouldn’t want you to be sad over me. I’d want you to be happy. That’s the only way I could rest in peace."
"Tristan Grayson, do you think everyone’s life revolves around you?" His words made Mika Summers furious. ’I was worried to death, and he dares to say something like that?’
Seeing how furious Mika was, Tristan Grayson sighed and said in a low voice, "Come here."
"What for!" Mika Summers shot him a glare, her voice full of displeasure.
"Come here and you’ll see."
Suppressing the unease in her heart, she walked over to Tristan Grayson’s side. He reached out and grabbed her arm.
Her tears immediately began to fall harder, and the anger on her face gave way to a look of profound hurt.
Seeing her like this, Tristan Grayson’s heart ached. He pulled her down onto his chest, gently pressing her head against him so she could hear his heartbeat. His voice was low as he spoke slowly, "Listen. I’m still alive. So don’t you even think about leaving me, because I will never allow it. Honey, I’m sorry. I’m sorry I made you worry. It was all my fault. So let’s not fight anymore, and let’s not be angry, okay?"
Hearing this, Mika Summers could no longer hold it in and burst into loud sobs. She clung to Tristan Grayson tightly. "WAHHH... It’s all your fault... You scared me to death... I thought I’d never see you again... Tristan Grayson, if you had really died, what would I have done? Tell me! What would I have done? What would I have done..."
