Chapter 481: Chapter 481: From This Moment On, I’ll Say I Love You (81)
"...?" Tristan Grayson said nothing, his eyes holding a complex expression. He hadn’t actually paid much attention to Tiana.
However, if the two of them really had a falling out and were on the verge of breaking up, he would be fully supportive. He was very much against his sister marrying into the Joyce Family.
Seeing that Tristan Grayson wasn’t speaking, Aria Joyce placed her handbag on his desk and said worriedly, "Leo came home, but he isn’t talking or eating much. I’m worried that he and Tiana had a fight."
"Heh. They’re both adults. It’s better if you stay out of these things, Miss Joyce." Tristan Grayson sneered, lowering his head to start flipping through the files on his desk.
Aria Joyce had expected Tristan Grayson to discuss the matter with her, or at the very least, exchange a few more words. But his current behavior truly chilled her to the bone.
"Tiana is your own sister. Tristan, it’s not right for you to be so unconcerned."
"Miss Joyce, to be honest, I never approved of Tiana dating Leo Joyce. If they’re really having relationship problems, I should be celebrating."
Hearing Tristan Grayson’s words, Aria Joyce snapped angrily, "Tristan Grayson, that’s going too far! Do you think Leo isn’t good enough for Tiana?"
"You could say that," Tristan Grayson replied sharply, offering her no courtesy whatsoever.
Aria Joyce trembled with anger. "How is our Leo not good enough for Tiana?!"
"Miss Joyce, I think you know very well how he isn’t."
"PFFT—" Ian Shaw, who had been enjoying the show from the doorway, let out a rather rude laugh. He strode over, rested a hand on Aria Joyce’s trembling shoulder, and said with a grin, "Miss Joyce, one’s the richest man in Tridell, the other’s an underworld thug. Their family backgrounds are indeed worlds apart!"
Aria Joyce clenched her fists and roared, "What did you say?" ’Underworld thugs? How dare he call the Joyce Family underworld thugs?’
"I think you heard me quite clearly just now, Miss Joyce. However, my attitude is different from Tristan’s. See, I’ve always had a thing for the darker side of life," Ian Shaw said, turning toward her. "Especially when it comes to women, and most especially, beautiful women like you." As he spoke, he lifted Aria Joyce’s chin, studying her closely.
"You damn pervert! If you dare lay a hand on me again, you’ll be sorry!" Aria Joyce cried, slapping his hand away.
Ian Shaw shrugged nonchalantly. "I look forward to that, Miss Joyce," he said with a grin. "Show me what happens when you’re not so polite."
Aria Joyce’s fists tightened in anger. She glanced back at Tristan Grayson, who remained completely unfazed by their exchange, and her heart ached with a mixture of anger and pain.
She snatched her handbag from the desk and stalked away haughtily in her high heels.
Watching Aria Joyce leave, Ian Shaw rubbed his chin, gazed after her retreating figure, and said with a chuckle, "Tristan, tell me, how did that little spitfire from the Joyce Family fall for a blockhead like you?"
"I don’t know. But if you like her, go ahead and chase her."
Hearing Tristan’s words, Ian Shaw coughed awkwardly a couple of times and said with a laugh, "I wouldn’t dare bring that kind of trouble home!" ’Though just playing around with her would be fine...’
Tristan Grayson closed the file in his hand, stood up, and glanced at Ian Shaw. "Take your time with your work," he said coolly. "I’m going to pick up my wife."
