Chapter 472: Chapter 472: Saying I Love You From This Moment On (72)

Eleanor Bishop fought back the ache in her heart, her voice trembling. "Archie, how... how could you say that..."

"What do you want me to say? Eleanor Bishop, what kind of impression did you think I had of you? I’ve tolerated you for this long, and I’ve reached my limit. Don’t provoke me again and again! As for the Bishop Family’s affairs, I’ll take care of them for Rory’s sake. And you had better keep the promise you made today. From now on, don’t disturb our lives. Don’t even appear in our lives. I don’t want my daughter to grow up and learn that her mother was a shameless, scheming liar who climbed into her father’s bed!"

Archie Lockwood’s words, cold and utterly devoid of emotion, viciously pierced Eleanor Bishop’s heart.

Eleanor Bishop steadied herself, the corners of her lips curling into a faint smile. "A liar?" ’So in Archie’s eyes, that’s all I am... a liar...’

Archie Lockwood took a step closer, smirking coldly. "Calling you a liar would be a compliment!"

"So, I’m not even good enough to be a liar." Eleanor Bishop didn’t know how to describe what she was feeling. She just laughed, and tears began to fall as she did.

"What else, then?"

"HAHAHA, Archie, you’re right. I’m not even good enough to be a liar."

Her laughter was incredibly grating to Archie Lockwood. He jabbed a finger toward the door and roared, "Eleanor Bishop, since you’re so clear on what you are, then right now, you... get the hell out!"

Eleanor Bishop clapped a hand over her mouth, then turned and ran out, sobbing.

Watching Eleanor leave, Rory burst into tears.

Archie Lockwood frowned and looked at Rory, his tone softening considerably. "Don’t cry."

"WAHH... You’re mean! You’re mean..." Rory paid him no mind, raising her little hands and hitting him.

Archie Lockwood turned, walked over to the sofa, and set Rory down. "Behave," he commanded coldly. "Don’t cry!"

"I... I want Mommy..." Rory’s wailing subsided into sobs. She looked up at Archie Lockwood, frightened, and said miserably.

"She was cruel enough to abandon you, and you still want her?" Archie Lockwood’s tone was laced with exasperation as he sat down beside Rory.

Rory cried sorrowfully. She rubbed her eyes and said angrily, "That’s not true! Mommy said she would never leave me. It must be because of you that she doesn’t want me anymore."

"Rory, you’re still little. There’s a lot you don’t understand. But you need to remember what Daddy says. That woman was the one who left you, it wasn’t because of Daddy."

"WAHHH..." At Archie Lockwood’s words, Rory only cried harder. frёeweɓηovel.coɱ

Archie Lockwood picked her up from the sofa and coaxed her softly, "Alright, don’t cry. You won’t be pretty if you keep crying."

"SOB SOB..." Rory couldn’t care less about being pretty. All she knew was that she might never see her mommy again.

Archie Lockwood looked at Rory, who was crying nonstop in his arms. His brow was deeply creased, his eyes full of exasperation.

He set Rory back down on the sofa, pulled out his phone, and called Louise Jordan, asking her to prepare some toys and clothes for a little girl and send them over.

Eventually, Rory cried herself to exhaustion. She lay sprawled on the sofa, silent tears streaming down her face, her eyes never once leaving Archie Lockwood...
