Chapter 42: Ruiner Three

"Oh! Please do!"

Seeing that the Death Flag System had some other helpful functions meant for him to take notes of his thoughts without it ever leaking, Cillian was beyond delighted.

This is Aster’s current and busted skills.

A Ruiner [Three] with [Zero].

The author really decided to give him four busted Pieces right off the bat without even any proper explanation to the readers.

Just straight up bullshit.

"All Knowing and Luther’s Swordsmanship are already overpowered Pieces, yet the Sword of Chaos that was awakened after Aster is kidnapped, is much more powerful."

Cillian was somehow glad that he wasn’t able to witness such skill that is what Fergus suffered after doing his bullshit.

Well, that was probably what some people admired about this novel, due to how overpowered Aster was in the book, but it became boring in the later stages, which Cillian exploited as a professional hater.

Aster is a powerhouse on his own.

That’s why he was able to attract friends and foes alike.

"Well, he’s the main character. That’s natural."

Cillian would be lying if he said he wasn’t jealous. Aster has been favored enough by the author, the gods, and anything that is above their current skill of this world a bit too much.

Well, Cillian already killed one, which is the author, so that leaves those gods. That is, if they exist.

Still, this is probably the reason why Fergus had fallen to such a ridiculous state, because what he fought wasn’t a human but a literal monster just hiding within it.

If he had researched his strength beforehand, Fergus might’ve hesitated picking on Aster.

Well, that’s beyond the point.

"That guy had it easy."

That’s just it.

Cillian couldn’t help but look at Mouthful Eye.

"You know, you’re really useful for someone like me who’s only starting as a Ruiner. I’d love to get more cooperation in the future."

Cillian removed the fact that Aster managed to pull one on him when he got something back, and a very informative one.

Then, Cillian asked.

"Hey, if you’re knowledgeable like you explained to me, prepare an answer on where Aster’s Pieces came from. What Runic Gates they spawned and tell me if someone managed to possessed that Runic Books from those gates."

Mouthful Eye looked at him and retorted.

"Okay, I can give you an answer to it later."

Cillian smiled very happily and stood up as he was about to continue cleaning, until he froze when the artifact continued.

"Anyways, just so you know, the side effects of me is already taking effect on you."

Cillian froze and contemplated what the artifact just informed him.

Mouthful Eye was right.

After writing the notes to his system, Cillian didn’t even get to think about anything on his mind and just uttered them from his mind.

The side effects of being talkative seemed to have taken effect that it continued while he was cleaning the club room.

It will not be soon till he can hear the ravings, another side effect of using the Whispering Sphere from the same item, but Cillian wished that it wouldn’t happen.

...

As he was walking through the academy premises, Cillian gazed at a huge dashboard from above.

It didn’t look like a normal dashboard one could see back on Earth. Instead, it was done with the use of sorcery. Because of it, it was much bigger and wider.

And these dashboards are scattered around the entire school.

On this dashboard, everything related to the tournament is there. One could say that students who won their first match are posted on this dashboard to see the changes occurring simultaneously.

One of those changes is the additional rules.

- Added Rule 34: If flags weren’t seized within the allotted time limit, Penalties will be administered to the classes. The winner of the bout will be decided through different means. However, the value of their flag will be halved, and one had to contest their way to make it 1.

- Added Rule 35: Refer to rule 34; this rule will be activated only if the value of their flag is 1. Anything above it, the rule becomes null.

- Added Rule 36: If the value of the flag is 2 or above but didn’t seize their opponent’s flag in the allotted time limit, their class will be forced to concede most of their flags to their opponents until its value becomes one-half. Then, Rule 34 will be administered.

-Added Rule 37: If both opponents’ flags have a value of 2 and above and didn’t seize their opponent’s flag at the allotted time, the eliminated teams of the first round will be given a chance, and their flags will be administered as 1/2. All eliminated classes will be matched and make their flags as a whole.

-Added Rule 38: The one who brought the flag to the Receiving Area has become the first [Bearer] of their class. The previous flag owner of the one who possessed it will be automatically passed to the first [Bearer]

"There it is,"

These rules are specifically made for those classes that didn’t fight their way to seize the flag of their opponents. Mainly, these added rules are designated for the first matches that are only waiting to see the time limit gone.

Their class almost became like it.

Cillian didn’t want that to happen because the Penalties are something a student has to watch out.

That’s why Cillian could see that others whose flag’s value have become one-half became wary of their opponents that has the same value. After all, it could only mean that they are going to fight each other only if they were in the same batch.

And the classes of the first-year students in the academy who haven’t gotten any idea how the tournament will unfold are in the same tight position.

’Not my problem.’

In Class 1, only Class A and C have defeated their opponents by seizing their flags. Class 1-B versus Class 1-F decided to use the waiting tactics, which applied the rules 34 to 37 almost immediately.

Class 1-D, who were on the waiting list and had penalties administered for placing last at the last exams, will soon be fighting Class 1-C, with Jack leading it.

Cillian saw on the dashboard updates that Phillip and Vin’s class fight was still taking place.

Phillip was in Class 6-C.

On the other hand, Vin was in Class 5-A.

Seeing that he had no matters left to be here any longer, Cillian was about to leave when someone called him from the back. freewёbnoνel.com

"Cillian."

Almost too familiar with that voice, even if they met once in their club, Cillian shifted his gaze to the back and called him as well.

"Dennis."

Dennis had an ordinary demeanor that one could almost mistake he was nobody. Wearing black long earrings at the side of his ears that swayed as he walked, he smiled genially.

"Your information was on point."

That one phrase alone was enough for Dennis to have a favorable image of Cillian.

He spoke in a gentle tone, unlike his usual even voice, when one couldn’t even distinguish if he was annoyed or glad.

"Of course."

Cillian couldn’t help but smile.

Dennis is an important figure from Class 4-A, according to Ethan. His father is part of Viola’s council, while his mother had good connections with the neighboring families, Gafantry and Xesie. That title alone was enough to put others to shame.

Cillian was also very certain that the other individuals who came to his club were also thankful for him in one way or another. If he was right in his thinking, their classes passed their first matches while seizing their opponent’s flag.

Because of his ’free’ help, Cillian had a favorable image to these individuals.

Dennis, seeing that Cillian understood that he came to him on good terms, nodded once before speaking evenly.

"I have a commission for you. You know that I belonged to Class 4-A, right? I want you to figure out the people who might be a Bearer or Bearers in my next match."

Dennis touched his chin and gave Cillian a clue. "If my calculations are right and based on the updated dashboard, it will be Class 4-D and Class 4-G."

’My hands are currently free. There are still a few days until our next match, so maybe I could consider it. Let’s see... if the rewards are good, I’ll accept it.’

Cillian pondered inwardly before giving a vague reply.

"In exchange for what?"
