Chapter 33: Weirder
’Something is wrong...’
Cillian thought inwardly, slowly backing down from Phillip and Vin’s seats as if bringing them with him was not going to work.
He carefully moved towards the door.
While still laughing on the floor in ridiculous poses, Phillip and Vin continued talking with Aiden, who was in the middle.
Their cheeks were red as if they were high, cackling like there was no tomorrow. Even though their discussion isn’t even funny, beyond even calling it like that, the laughter does not stop.
Phillip started another conversation.
"Hahahaha! You came from another world, Aiden? If you do, that’s something to be funny about!"
"Right?! Instead of thinking of me as an invader, it’s better if things aren’t complicated enough! Besides, I’m not an invader! Just a lost guy finding his lost consciousness after all!"
With a cackle, Vin came up next.
"And you said the world is being plagued? Is it like a disease spreading in the entire world, which will eventually put us on the brink of extinction? That’s... absurd, I feel like dying! Hahaha!"
"I don’t know why we’re laughing at this world’s doom, but you do get it! We’re all going to die! Hahaha!"
Doubts formed Cillian’s thoughts, thinking very carefully if he laughed as well and was oblivious about every weird statement they kept spouting, but he refrained from doing so. freewēbnoveℓ.com
Aiden didn’t seem to mind if Cillian joined in or not.
But it made him think about two things.
First, whatever was happening inside this classroom, he was the only one protected by their laughter.
Second is Aiden’s sudden appearance here.
’He’s been in this world for almost a century or a few decades, since he was being pursued by whoever he was mentioning. That means there is a lot of fleeing and hiding from his pursuers. He could’ve rotated out the whole world before stumbling upon me. This thinking will lead me to believe that it wasn’t a coincidence...’
Cillian tried to reassure himself with the only logic he could think of at the moment, but the gnawing feeling kept crawling through his mind, thinking there were variables at play.
He wasn’t just going to gamble that this was just a mere coincidence.
...there are still lies to be considered after all.
’I need to tell Freya about this. Her first. I will sound crazy if I tell others about this situation. They will think I’m crazy as well. I’m already a troublemaker. But if it’s Freya... If she confirms this herself, then she’ll be able to send reinforcement.
’She’s the president after all. If she doesn’t believe me, I’m going to use the favor I asked her to force her to come here.’
Cillian paused as he thought about other methods.
’Should I pretend to be someone important to dispatch the school’s force? Using the Faceless of someone important, like Darwin, the third-year principal? I’ve already done it once, so maybe...’
When that became part of his choices, Cillian immediately chose not to do it.
’No... it posed many risks. I’m doing this safely.’
With that decision in mind, Cillian stood right in the door and calmly said.
"Aiden, you can get the spare room, but we haven’t clean them yet since we’re still a new club. You know, I can’t just waste money here and there, haha... You can have one of those rooms."
"Oh! Thanks, you’re a really great guy."
Aiden glanced sideways and gave a thumbs-up before returning to talking to Vin and Phillip.
’Please hold on, Phillip. Vin. I don’t know if I can bring you with me, so I’ll bring someone to help. Just stay there... This is beyond what I can do...’
Cillian mused inwardly as he slowly opened the door.
’My safety first.’
Cillian closed the door and left the club.
He decided to move the progression of his Fireball spell later and go towards the Student Council to ask for help.
Even though he prioritized his life, Cillian couldn’t just let the two suffer like that.
...
Cillian passed through the countless buildings without problem. He tried to appear calm as he thought about the conditions of both Phillip and Vin, who were definitely not acting normally after Aiden’s sudden appearance.
However, along the way from walking at a rapid pace, Cillian hit someone in the head that made him slightly stumble from standing. freewebnovel.cσ๓
The person he hit fell to the ground with the things she held in her hand.
"Ouch!"
"Ugh."
Cillian rubbed his head while clicking his tongue as he looked at the person he had just hit.
This person also looked at Cillian.
"Cillian?"
Melissa asked while properly nudging her eyeglasses. Ivy and Willow, who were right beside her, was shock for a moment before bringing the things in their hands down and helping her get up.
They were bound to hit each other when Cillian was moving as fast as he could, while this trio was just about to turn on an intersection.
’Seriously! This day couldn’t get any weirder! First was Aster asking a question in the classroom. Second, a dangerous man appeared in my room. Third, I met these three just as I needed to go to the student council. Right on the same day!’
Cillian couldn’t believe how this day was turning when he even neglected his training for this, but he had no time to think about unnecessary things.
Cillian tried to leave, but Willow stopped him in his tracks, which made him more annoyed.
"You’re not even going to apologize?"
Willow spoke without hiding the disdain in her voice.
Yes, Cillian and Aster’s group were not on good terms, but it doesn’t hurt for him to apologize for what he did.
’Man, her face looks very punchable right now.’
That was the only thing going through Cillian’s mind right now before he tried to move to other ways, but Willow stopped her.
"Hey."
Cillian spoke coldly when he wasn’t getting a pass.
"I’m really not in a good mood right now. So, can you please move aside? I have important things to go."
Willow, who wouldn’t just let Cillian disappear, move this to another topic unrelated to the bump between Cillian and Melissa just now.
"You are a selfish person, you know that, Cillian?"
Cillian made a face of "tf you talking about now," but he soon realized what she meant when Willow continued.
"Aster said the other classes that came to know the information regarding the celebration came from your club. But does telling something to your own class cross your mind at all? We’re one group."
"Willow..."
Ivy tried to stop her from saying any further, with Melissa merely watching, but the words were already expressed for Cillian to hear.
Stopping her now would not make any difference unless Cillian let her be.
Cillian was, of course, not letting her be. Probably because he will not turn back a fight, or this isn’t some life-threatening situation that he found.
No, there was another factor.
Who does she think she is to stop him and start confronting him out of nowhere?
Cillian gave out an annoyed smile.
"Honestly, it did cross my mind."
Cillian paused.
"But did I contemplate it? Absolutely no. Since Melissa—no, Ms. Forn and I have quite a history with each other, believing my words will be hard. Words are meaningless when emotions come into play. Objectivity will not be your objective, but the lies and deception behind my words."
"But..."
"But I guess that doesn’t answer your question, so I’ll give you one, so let me finish first."
Cillian interjected Willow, not giving her any time to speak.
"I didn’t tell the class at all because I didn’t care. I don’t give a crap at all. That’s it. That’s the same for you three."
Willow went silent for a moment, thinking about the words Cillian had spoken earlier in class while considering the statement just now.
It doesn’t make any sense.
"You want to win, but you don’t want to help your class? You don’t want to lose, but the opponents we’re going to face have the information you held rather than telling us about it?"
Willow scoffed, giving him a scornful face.
"Your words are just a bunch of bullshit, just so you know."
"Oh, just shut the hell up."
Cillian bumped Willow’s shoulders, which made Ivy glare at him as he started walking a few steps before stopping when he heard someone’s voice.
"I’m sorry."
Ivy and Willow looked at Melissa, who apologized first.
Cillian didn’t look back.
He silently started walking again before gradually sprinting and leaving the three beautiful main casts.
...
Standing in front of the student council’s residence, Cillian weakly knocked once, expecting a fast reply since it was still the peak of the classes for now.
But no person came out from inside.
Freya, whom he liked to greet since she was the only person in the council with whom he had good connections, was not coming out.
Cillian knocked once more and decided that he would barge in if there was still no response.
That was until he heard a series of footsteps that opened the door, revealing another female.
The problem was that it wasn’t Freya.
’Another fucking woman...? Just how many freaking women do I have to meet today!?’
It was another woman with shoulder-length auburn hair. Her delicate face creased, expressing a clear disdain as if Cillian was meant to receive those kinds of faces from almost every lady he met.
She was wearing the academy uniform as her good figure complemented her appearance.
"Cillian Sparrow?"
Recognizing the individual standing in front through Vin and Phillip, Cillian nodded before greeting.
"Hello, Ma’am Caspin."
She was the current Treasurer of the council, the person Vin and Phillip met to pay for the fees in the club, Caspin Lendez, a noble.
It was Cillian’s first time meeting this Caspin, but she was already giving him the heebie-jeebies. He didn’t like the look she was giving, the same look Freya gave him when she was tasked to monitor him.
"Why are you here?"
Caspin asked.
Cillian answered right away.
"I want to see Ma’am Freya. Is she inside?"
Caspin lightly shook her head.
"No, she’s doing something important right now with other members. I’m the only one here. That thing that requires her attention, is it important?"
Cillian grew hopeless when Freya and other council members were not there, but he eventually nodded to her question.
He was expecting to be tormented with words such as the likes of "you brat, you just got lucky to be monitored by Freya," and the likes, but he was a bit astonished when Caspin answered normally.
"Okay, let me get to it. I can’t ignore help coming from my junior... even for someone like you,"
’Someone like me...?’
Cillian raised a brow, shaking his head in defeat.
’What in the world is happening? This is becoming weirder.’
He found it unbelievable that Caspin was willing to give a hand with the bad reputation that he had.
’Anything student matters-related shouldn’t have any biases, I guess?’
