Chapter 12: Main Character

"Mana Enhancement... By using this principle, one can double the amount of power augmented by their spell while they are attacking. By focusing on their point of attack while channeling the mana in that one part of their bodies, the attack contained double the firepower produced...

"Mana Enforcement... By using this principle, one can use mana as some sort of ’shield’. By enveloping the mana on their body and enforcing it, one can withstand damage received by the opponent. The higher the ’Circle’ of the person, the better the outcome of the enforcement..."

"Tier One Sorcery Spells... The weakest type of spell to be conjured by a sorcerer, at the same time, the easiest. A person didn’t need to have one Circle to perform such sorcery. Due to the advancement in the discovery of sorcery, a non-Circle sorcerer can conjure, but only a tier one spell. Warning: never attempt to conjure a tier two spell and above if they didn’t have any Circle yet... The same as conjuring higher-tier spells if you’re didn’t have the right Circle for it."

"Elemental Acquisition... An area of magic that has been developed to this age. Acquiring elemental proficiency shouldn’t be done through nature but through careful nurturing of one’s proficient element. It’s because certain cases involved people who are proficient in a particular element but weren’t qualified to learn it due to their limitations. In return, they experienced Mana Overload and Mana Drain that resulted in them being unavailable to wield mana..."

"Mana Knowledge... Studies have proven that the more someone is knowledgeable about mana and sorcery, the better they can apply certain types of spells. For a specific affinity, to a specific knowledge it pertains to. It’s the way of nature and the way how mana and knowledge coincide."

Cillian felt like he had returned to Earth as he vigorously took down notes for himself. For the whole day, he attended nine classes in total.

He had written information in his notebook because of how interesting they are.

Right before he was supposed to participate in the second class, he had to get back to his dormitory to pick up a notebook since he hadn’t brought one with him earlier.

Everything was interesting.

"Class dismissed."

’Pheww, finally...’

As he quietly packed up his things, Freya, who was silently watching everything from the sidelines, quickly interjected.

"There’s an additional class for you. It is related to... the attitude and behavior of a person. To the likes of you, it is required."

’To the likes of me... As if I’m some kind of monkey.’

Cillian didn’t argue and nodded meekly.

Right on the heels of Freya, he silently followed the student council president towards another class that took a few minutes to walk.

/Problem Class/

Finally, she led him inside.

Entering the class with disinterested eyes, Cillian surveyed the area as he saw students sitting down away from each other.

Since most people here didn’t know each other, it was obvious enough to mind their own business. They also have someone monitoring on their side, making the situation inside the classroom quieter.

Still choosing the edge part of the classroom to sit down, Cillian opened his notes to relearn what he had noted for today, waiting for the homeroom teacher to come.

Tak—!

A moment later, a series of footsteps walked inside the classroom.

Everyone’s gaze fell on a student, and even Freya directed her attention with a frown.

Gossip and chatter erupted around the classroom, making Cillian, who was the only one who didn’t give a damn about it, also look to the side.

’Is a fight about to erupt—’

Soon, his gaze froze.

’Isn’t this just some stupid coincidence?’

After trying to avoid this guy so hard, Cillian’s worst nightmare happened.

He was doing so well throughout the day to avoid this person, but for them to meet like this was kind of... bound to happen? They are both troublemakers, after all.

What entered inside was a man in his prime teenage years.

His crimson eyes caught the eyes of many as he exuded an authoritative demeanor. His uniform outlines his well-versed body, omitting the hellish training that he had done to grab the power he currently has. An intricate necklace seemed to be hanging from his neck.

He was the one who taught him to become a Ruiner.

The main character.

’Aster Densworth...’

As if he realized the mistake that he had made, Cillian avoided looking at the person and trembled inwardly.

’No! Why did you say his name!? Main character only! That person only! Stop, stop. Oh fuck, I think it’s too late or...’

As if furthering his suspicions regarding Aster’s power, Cillian seemed to have jolted awake as he felt the piercing gaze of those crimson eyes.

Slowly drifting his attention, he looked at Aster once more.

He was looking at him.

’!’

[White Flag] -> [Black Flag]

The white flag quietly hovering at Aster’s head turned black the moment his eyes landed on Cillian.

Cillian’s eyes screamed to avoid this person immediately, adding the fact that Aster’s aura he was emitting was no joke.

The main character was there for blood.

If Cillian did something funny, Aster might not hesitate to cause a stir just to land a punch on his face.

Also, the way Cillian exuded cockiness and self-confidence only intensified Aster’s feelings for him.

’I mean, I couldn’t blame this guy. The previous owner of this body bullied a person in his circle, who became Aster’s companion the moment Fergus harassed him.’

Cillian couldn’t just tell him, "hey, I’m not that person anymore," and be done with it.

On the other hand, it’s not like he had to convince Aster that he turned into a new leaf because he wanted to leech off the main character.

Just thinking about it makes Cillian tremble, thinking that it didn’t suit the character he was about to do.

’There’s nothing to change at all. That’s right, it’s better to keep this kind of relationship with him.’

Cillian convinced himself, as he couldn’t help but see a presence sitting beside him.

Though all the nervousness and trembling were gone in an instant, as he formulated a thought inside his head.

’Aster—no, this person knew he was still at school. Like me, his freedom was also stripped for the meantime due to what happened to him and Fergus. For the same reason, he had to lie low for a while.’

In that case, he couldn’t do something drastic that might lead to heavy penalties.

’Heh, and because of that, no matter how high his bloodthirst, he couldn’t lift a single finger to harm me. That would be... bad for me and for him. But let’s not get to that point.’

Cillian glanced at the Aster, who also gave him a look.

’Anyways, he’s back from the detention, huh. Maybe he already did while I was cooped up in my room. And we’re attending the same class...’

Suddenly, Cillian snapped as he couldn’t help but come up with a simple, mischievous scheme.

’You will regret sitting down with me.’

Aster might’ve noticed the fear-stricken expression he had made earlier, but it’s only this body that had reacted to it.

The current Cillian is not afraid of this guy at all, but he had to get back to him somehow, knowing he couldn’t allow the same thing to happen later on if they started to meet yet again.

Giving him a scoff after avoiding his eyes, Cillian waited for the instructor to come.

The room had also settled down as the noise immediately halted. Only the hushed breathing and light tapping resounded inside the classroom.

In that moment of silence, the teacher for this class entered. Everyone stood up to greet the person, including Aster and Cillian.

"You may sit down."

Everyone was seated except the monitors. And in that moment when the teacher was preparing his lessons, Cillian was the first one to look at Aster this time.

"..."

Aster also gazed back at Cillian’s indifferent expression. It was unknown what he was about to do.

With a frown, Aster coldly inquired.

"What?"

Cillian intently gazed at his crimson eyes for a moment before his expression changed.

It was a very nasty and mocking change.

With the tip of his lips curled upward, he wore the most smug face Cillian could muster.

"Heh. Heh."

"..."

If it were any other person, they might’ve just shrugged it off.

In fact, the idea of a person giving them a broken laugh would give them the idea that the person is a crazy guy.

But Aster was different.

He had bad relations with Cillian, especially since he was a lackey for Fergus. To him, that broken laugh was a mock.

As to whatever it signified, Cillian wouldn’t want him to know.

His sole aim was to provoke the shit out of Aster using minimal action... and it crazily worked.

"Heh."

A vein popped out from Aster’s head while angrily biting his lip, trying his hardest not to give Cillian a beating.

He looked like a constipated person who was to trying shit.

"HeH! hEh!"

Blood started to seep out from Aster’s lips.

Seeing this reaction made Cillian feel the highest enjoyment ever.

Cillian felt he was born to provoke anyone and literally everything at this moment.

’Hahaha! Stop smiling... s-stop... Bring your lips down... Wha—Hahaha...!’

When Cillian’s excitement reached the max, his lips swayed upwards, but when he realized that Freya might notice them, he brought his lips down.

But then, it goes up again, then down.

In the end, Cillian’s lips remained up as his brain betrayed the swelling joy in his heart, his body trembling in bliss.

’This is... wonderful.’

Cillian knew Aster couldn’t make a move at him since Freya was watching, surveying the situation like an eagle hunting down on her prey. fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm

With one wrong move, she will have no choice but to carry out judgment and prey on them.

"Hehhh...! Hehhhh! Heeeeeeee"

Seeing that his mental state was going from bad to worse, Aster tried to stand up and move to other seats, but failed horribly.

"What are you doing?"

Freya pressed out with a cold tone.

"Sit down. The class has already started."

’You can’t do that. This was the reason why I started this after the teacher was done ordering us to sit down and wait.’

Cillian paused as his already smiling lips turned even more arched.

’This is one of the freedoms removed from us. You can’t do shit.’

Aster clenched his fist, having no choice but to sit down. He seemed to be recollecting himself to adjust his mental state.

But Cillian wouldn’t allow that.

"Heeeeeeeeee! Heeeeeeeeee!"

He already started. It would be a waste to finish off without doing anything.

’One hour. Yes, this one hour is something you’re going to regret.’

Cillian chuckled outwardly, not daring to hide it from Aster.

He was going to have so much fun.
