He adjusted his monocle and said slowly, "This is the deep mental space of the Colossus. In other words, this isn't reality—our consciousness was forcibly dragged here by that red light. So right now, where we are should be inside the subconscious of the Colossus's Brain."

Zuo Zuo was stunned.

Lynn stood up and said, "There's no smell at all. That means everything here is a projection of consciousness. That monster you just saw was likely a reflection of your own subconscious. The more afraid you are of something, the more you dwell on it—the more those worries in your mind get projected outward."

"For example, you were just afraid there might be a monster in the blood mist, so one actually appeared. And you were wondering if it might be me in disguise, so that monster ended up with some of my features."

"So."

Lynn rubbed his temples, smiled, and licked the corner of his mouth, "This is absolutely the best place to deal with those who've experienced great terror! The only thing I'm not sure about is, if we die in this godforsaken place, will our bodies on the outside die too?"

All of this was speculation he'd pieced together from the clues around him.

That red light.

It should be a sign that the Colossus's Brain was about to awaken.

The only thing uncertain was whether there might also be a projection of the Colossus's Brain's consciousness in this subconscious space. If so, there were probably a lot of people right now trying their best to find it, weren't there?

Lynn narrowed his eyes.

Zuo Zuo tilted her head blankly and said, "But why didn't that monster just now attack us? If it was a nightmare or something like that, shouldn't it be full of aggression?"

Lynn curled his lips, grinned slyly, and said, "Maybe it's because, in this place, we have a higher authority and status."

Because in a certain sense.

As long as he and Zuo Zuo were still together.

Then they were the Colossus's Heart.

As the second-in-command of the Colossus, as the Queen, if there weren't any privileges in the Colossus's mental space, that really wouldn't make sense, would it?

Zuo Zuo was still completely clueless.

Obviously.

With her level of understanding, getting her to comprehend Lynn's analysis was pretty much like making an elementary school student learn calculus.

...

Ten minutes later.

Lynn dragged the reluctant, shuffling Loli Zuo by the hand, striding forcefully deeper into the blood mist.

Her long, waterfall-like hair was tied up, and she was already wearing a set of gear that Lynn had meticulously designed for her.

Of course, Lynn had no perverse pleasure whatsoever, nor had he designed anything based on what was floating around in his head. He simply thought this outfit was more suitable.

Yes.

That's right.

[Ding! Zuo Zuo's anger towards you +10]

Clearly.

From the mental waves transmitting from Lynn, Zuo Zuo could clearly sense that he was thinking about something weird again—and definitely nothing good!

Lynn turned his head, a slight smile curling at the corner of his mouth as he glanced out of the corner of his eye at Loli Zuo behind him, who was angrily baring her little fangs as he dragged her forward.

Lynn was about to say something to tease his Loli Zuo, but just then, a telepathic sensation suddenly struck like an electric shock from deep within the blood mist, making both him and Zuo Zuo shudder involuntarily.

"Something's happening!"

Lynn instantly went on alert, stopped in his tracks, and turned his head to stare ahead.

Zuo Zuo's hands instantly twisted into two blades forged from flesh and blood, and she warily rushed to Lynn's side.

"What was that?"

Lynn didn't speak. Instead, he squinted, staring intently at the blood mist ahead.

A certain sensation.

Or, to be more precise, it was the hyper-dimensional perception unique to Colossus components.

He'd felt something similar before, especially when he was in danger—his heart would pound violently, vaguely making him aware of a hyper-sense born between him and certain beings.

For example, Little Treasure, or the Colossus's Brain.

And this feeling was clearly more distinct here in this mental space than it was in the outside world.

So.

What was it?

Was it the individual consciousness of another Colossus component, or was it the Colossus's Brain?

"Let's go check it out!"

Lynn was on guard. He grabbed Zuo Zuo's little hand, tapped the ground with the tips of his toes, leaped up, and plunged headfirst into the blood mist ahead.

He raced in that direction at full speed.

And as the distance closed, the intermittent sensation became clearer and clearer.

And gradually.

A second, a third, a fourth appeared!
