Chapter 1629: Chapter 1630: If You Trust God, You Might as Well Trust Me

"Where are you going?" He asked, noticing she hadn’t stopped after running for a while.

"There’s a fountain square ahead."

He slightly furrowed his brows, glancing at her profile under the fading lights.

Was she running so fast just to get to the fountain square?

He exerted a bit of force to stop her in her tracks, "The fountain square won’t run away, there’s no need to rush."

Hearing him say this, Feng Jinglei realized she indeed didn’t need to hurry. But she just wanted to show him what these two coins were for!

Raising her head, she indeed saw the spectacular fountain not far away, showering under the colorful lights, pearls flying and falling gracefully, captivating and eye-catching.

"Why are we here?" He glanced at her and asked.

Feng Jinglei just smiled and pulled him toward the fountain with its graceful dance.

"One for you." She handed one of the coins to him.

He was a bit dumbfounded, "What for?"

"You must have heard of wishing wells."

He finally understood her intention; she planned to make a wish with these two coins?

"Do you think this is Rome’s Trevi Fountain?"

"Who says you have to go to Rome’s wishing well? Isn’t there a saying, ’sincerity brings results’? How do you know if you don’t try? What if it really happens?" She turned, and a smile blossomed on her clean face, which unexpectedly captivated him.

Feng Jinglei turned around, tossed the coin into the fountain, intertwined her fingers, closed her eyes, and made a wish.

Qin Feimo stood beside her, quietly watching, suddenly very curious about the wish she made.

"Aren’t you going to make a wish?" She opened her eyes, noticing he was only watching her, still holding the coin in his hand, she couldn’t help but ask.

Qin Feimo turned his head, looking at the gushing fountain, he had never lacked anything in life, truly had no wishes.

"What did you wish for?" He turned, subconsciously asked what wish she had made.

Feng Jinglei paused, "If I say it out loud, it won’t come true."

He lifted the corners of his mouth, somewhat amused, "Do you really think there are gods or deities who can hear your heart and make your wishes come true?"

"Better to believe there is than isn’t, what if there really is a God?" She didn’t know if there was a God, but having wishes was essential, what if they do come true?

He glanced at her, hands in his pockets, suddenly bent closer to her.

The sudden closeness caught Feng Jinglei off guard, instinctively leaning back, "What are you...doing?"

He just stared at her, "Instead of believing in God, why not believe in me?"

She was taken aback, "Believe...believe in you?"

"Tell me your wish, and I’ll make it come true."

Under the night sky, his dark eyes were like a starry night, unfathomable.

"No." She lowered her head, turned, and walked away from the fountain.

He slightly furrowed his brow, pocketed the coin, and followed her, "So, you’d rather believe in a non-existent God, but not in me?"

She kept her head down without speaking.

The wish she made was hoping that every day spent with him in the future could be as beautiful as tonight, wishing her later life filled with children and him would be enough.

He was part of her wish, she naturally couldn’t tell him that wish.

"It’s late, let’s go home."

Seeing it was getting late, and to avoid the topic, Feng Jinglei looked up at him.

He stared at her for a long time, for the first time really wanting to know what was in her heart, yet she decidedly chose not to tell him.
