Chapter 842: Rank 7 Entity [GT Ranking Bonus Chapter]
With that singular attack, Teo Swig had wiped out over a hundred Rank 5 Shadow Assassins as though they were nothing, although everything within a two-hundred-meter radius had been burnt to a crisp.
Asher gazed at Teo Swig from the corner of his eyes. He had to admit it, Teo Swig was strong. The guy had speed, defense, attack power, sharp senses, battle IQ; the man had it all. But still, he felt like Teo Swig had been unleashing one heavy attack after another, and nobody on this planet possessed infinite Astra energy.
With the sole exception of Malrik Wargrave whenever he was under the sun. ƒгeewёbnovel.com
"I don’t mean to overstep, nor do I know the volume of Astra energy flowing through your Astra veins, but aren’t you spending a lot on these huge attacks?" Asher asked calmly.
Teo Swig turned his gaze toward Asher for a moment before speaking. "Don’t worry, it’s fine. Immense Astra energy reserves are one thing people who are familiar with me know me for. It seems the stars know that I need immense reserves of Astra energy to support my four elemental affinities," he explained calmly.
Asher nodded and said nothing more as he understood that some people were simply born with ridiculously vast reserves of Astra energy. The Wargrave family was proof of this. Even Ryaen and Vaelric both possessed far greater reserves of Astra energy than normal.
But Finch and William simply possessed normal amounts of Astra energy for people of their Life Rank.
"Let’s keep the momentum," Asher spoke with a smile.
Teo Swig simply nodded his head, but before they could even take a single step forward, a portal tore open directly beneath their feet.
Asher’s eyes turned to the side where another portal opened, and from it, two female students stepped out with fear in their eyes, as they had obviously been running from something.
’So someone else can open portals, huh?’ Asher thought to himself as he vanished into the portal.
Asher and Teo appeared in another part of the city. The destruction around this area wasn’t nearly as extensive as the wreckage Asher and Teo had caused, as though no students had appeared here.
The moment they landed on their feet after emerging from the portal several meters above the ground, Asher and Teo immediately spotted another Shadow Assassin. But this one was sitting on the ground as though meditating, patiently waiting for someone to challenge it.
Although these Shadow Assassins didn’t give off any presence that allowed others to quantify their ranks, Asher could estimate them based on how much danger the being before him posed. And the being before him was definitely a Rank 7 entity that seemed to be the boss of the wave.
’No wonder those two girls were afraid. It seems they stumbled upon it and immediately fled for their lives,’ Asher mused to himself.
Teo Swig, who stood beside Asher, was already in a martial stance with a frown on his face. Just like Asher, he and the others could sense the danger this particular Shadow Assassin radiated. He knew the being before him was nothing like the Rank 6 Shadow Assassin he had fought earlier.
But Teo wasn’t exactly too worried. He had seen the video of Asher’s battle with Xal’Thar, so he knew Asher could fight Rank 7 beings. Although he personally couldn’t keep up with or fight a Rank 7 entity, Teo had already come to the conclusion that he would participate in the battle. While Asher fought it head-on, he would attack whenever the Rank 7 being was distracted or launch long-range attacks from a safe distance.
After all, who knew when he might at least get the opportunity to land a successful attack against a Rank 7 entity that wasn’t paying attention to him?
But what Teo Swig hadn’t considered was that, to participate in a battle like this, first of all, you had to be capable of keeping up. Secondly, the shockwaves from a single collision between these two beings could very well kill him. But he would have to discover that himself the moment he interfered.
The very next instant, shrill whistles filled the air as over two hundred shadow arrows shot toward Asher and Teo from the rooftops of various high-rise buildings. Teo Swig simply deployed a barrier of wind that effortlessly blocked every single shadow arrow.
"I will handle this. Deal with the minions on the rooftops and around the area," Asher spoke without taking his eyes off the meditating Rank 7 Shadow Assassin. In the past, he remembered blinking only for Xal’Thar to close the distance in that instant and plunge a fist through his gut. Of course, he had phased through it, but it showed just how intelligent and flawless those beings were with their timing.
"No problem," Teo Swig immediately agreed. His knees bent as the earth beneath his feet cracked, and he shot forward like an arrow toward the Shadow Assassins positioned on the rooftops. freёwebnoѵel.com
Teo Swig’s feet touched the smooth glass surface of a high-rise building, and with that, he blurred upward. He arrived at the rooftop, his body suspended midair for a brief moment as his eyes met the Shadow Assassins waiting there. Without missing a beat, his arm snapped backward like a drawn bow before he hurled his flame-coated glaive downward with terrifying force.
Teo Swig’s glaive tore through a Shadow Assassin before it could even phase, carving a deep ravine across the rooftop, and with a thunderous boom, a massive explosion of flames erupted outward.
Teo Swig landed upon the butt of his glaive before, without missing a beat, launching himself toward another high-rise building several meters away with the agility of a cat. As he soared through the air, the Shadow Assassins didn’t hesitate. They immediately attempted to shoot him down.
Teo Swig simply shifted his hand sideways while still airborne, and the glaive embedded in the other building shot back toward his hand as though it possessed a will of its own. In reality, he had merely recalled it through his mastery over wind.
With his glaive once again in hand, he deflected the incoming dark arrows, his arm becoming a blur until he landed upon the rooftop with explosive force. The instant he landed, he dove forward like a streak of light, his glaive blurring into silver afterimages as he made quick work of every Shadow Assassin standing upon the roof.
His eyes suddenly snapped downward as a spike of darkness burst outward from his own shadow. His body immediately went into overdrive as his reflexes instinctively took over. He dodged to the side while simultaneously swinging his glaive upward from below, unleashing countless razor-sharp wind blades.
The building beneath him cracked before shattering into pieces as he began to plummet. But before he could fall any significant distance, his body halted in midair as he defied gravity itself, remaining suspended above the battlefield.
Although Teo Swig couldn’t truly fly, his current mastery over air and wind at least allowed him to float and levitate with remarkable ease.
He raised his glaive toward the sky, his Astra energy pulsing outward as he created countless wind-forged swords, spears, and arrows. And with that, he pointed his glaive toward the surrounding buildings where the Rank 5 Shadow Assassins were positioned, and instantly the countless attacks surged forward with overwhelming ferocity, tearing through everything in their path.
