Chapter 213: Chapter 212:Oh, this is gonna be so much fun!

Three days later..

"Alright boys, you ready?" Son-Kai asked as he focused on the three of us, well just me and Malachi, since Leo had claimed full rights on turning my head into a nest, the stupid guy was dozing off with not a care in the world..

"Yea old man, stop wasting time already, let’s do this shit.." after three days of sleeping, eating, sleeping and eating some more, it was no surprise that I’d gotten really close to Malachi’s family.

It helped that they were extremely easy to get along with, plus the fact that Shafrin was a truly wonderful person to be around? Bonus. I felt like I was at a second home, that too in just three days...

"Language young man!" Shafrin’s stern voice sounded out, her figure radiating menace as she stood beside Son-Kai.

"Sorry ma’am!"

Unfortunately though, getting close with them didn’t come without its disadvantages.

I finally understood why the monkey was so jovial and hyper the first time we met, it was because he’d only recently escaped his mother’s disciplinary regime, Shafrin’s iron fist still fresh on his mind.

"Hah! You got told off again, where’s that your big bad, I am HIM persona now.. hahahahaha..."

Bonk!!

"Fuck!!!"

"What was that?"

"Nothing mom!"

"Heh. Sucker."

"Shut it!"

We glared at each other, me swearing to get the monkey back once we’re inside wherever it was we were going.

"Alright, since you boys seem so energetic, let’s get going. Hahahaha..." Son-Kai laughed as he moved toward the sleek aircraft parked on the wide open space before us..

"I’m never getting used to the image of a gorilla in a Hawaiian Shirt, never!" I muttered under my breath.

"Shhh.. the old man thinks he looks cool, don’t ruin this for me." Malachi was struggling to contain his laughter as we both followed after the man..

"You boys stay safe.. I want you home in one piece!" Shafrin’s worried voice reached us from behind.

As always, the tomb would be a place where strength would be the only currency, and life wasn’t assured, it took an extreme amount of convincing to even allow the woman to let us go, so her worries were valid.

"Don’t worry ma, I’ll be sure to return as the one true heir to the monkey king!" Malachi’s confident voice echoed as we finally got on the lowered platform, a flash of light later and we were teleported into the vehicle..

.....

The first thing I noticed was space.

Lots and lots of space.

I wasn’t exactly sure what I had expected when I heard aircraft, but it definitely wasn’t this.

Soft couches lined the sides.

Large crystal windows stretched across the walls.

Tables stacked with snacks and drinks sat around the place.

There was even a damn fountain in one corner.

"..."

I looked at Son-Kai.

I looked back at the room.

Then looked at Son-Kai again.

"...why does your plane have a fountain?"

The large ape blinked.

"Why wouldn’t it?"

"..."

Monkey logic made no sense, I’d already learned not to question it.

"Hahahahaha..." Malachi held onto his stomach as he laughed shamelessly.

"Stop acting like a country bumpkin, Dante."

"Country bumpkin your ass! Why does an aircraft need a fucking fountain?!"

"It’s decorative."

"Decorative my bloody foot!"

Shaking my head, I moved towards the massive crystal windows, deciding not to question the absurdity anymore.

Swooooooshhhhh!!!!

The city rapidly shrank beneath us.

My eyes widened slightly.

Only now did I realize how ridiculous the city of Flowers and Fruits truly was.

Cloud pathways stretched endlessly through the skies.

Thousands of vehicles crossed through the heavens.

Massive beasts flew between mountain peaks.

Floating islands drifted lazily through the skies.

Entire platforms carrying groups of people moved in the distance.

And every single one of them...

Were headed in the same direction.

"..."

"...yea, definitely your wuxia bullshit inheritance arc alright." I muttered.

"Hmm?" Malachi tilted his head.

"Nothing."

The monkey shrugged before moving beside me.

"See those?" He pointed outward.

Far ahead, several massive platforms floated through the skies.

Each one carried groups of simians.

Some had crimson fur.

Others black.

Others silver.

Golden.

Some wore armor.

Others carried enormous staffs on their backs.

Some simply stood with folded arms, eyes closed.

"...other clans?" I asked.

"Yup."

"Candidates?"

Malachi shook his head.

"No."

"...No?"

A grin slowly spread across his face.

"Support." ƒгeewebnovёl.com

"..."

I slowly turned toward him.

"...support?"

"If the support looks like that..." I looked back out the window.

"...how stupidly ridiculous are the heirs?"

"Hehehe..." The monkey only laughed mysteriously.

Honestly, the more I saw, the more I realized just how grand a scale this thing was on, the more excited I became.

The very thought of facing different types of challengers was like a shot of pure dopamine to my system.

Screeeeee!!!!

Leo suddenly opened one eye from atop my head before staring into the distance.

"Hmm?"

Following his gaze, I frowned.

Far away, isolated from the others, floated a black cloud.

Standing atop it was a single figure.

No movement.

No expression.

Just standing there silently.

Even from this distance...

Something about him felt off.

My instincts twitched.

Then his eyes opened.

Our gazes met for a brief moment.

A smile slowly spread across his face.

"..."

Instant dislike.

I didn’t know why.

Didn’t know who he was.

But I already wanted to punch him.

"Hm?" Malachi looked over.

"What happened?"

"Nothing."

I looked away.

"I just saw someone with a very punchable face."

"Huh?"

Before he could question me further...

BOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!

The entire aircraft trembled violently.

Like we’d just passed through a violent hurricane.

The laughter around us died instantly.

Clouds ahead split apart.

And then...

I saw it.

My eyes widened.

Mountains.

Not one.

Not ten.

Thousands.

Endless mountain peaks stretched beyond what my eyes could see.

And at the center of it all stood a colossal stone gate.

No.

Calling it a gate felt wrong.

It was more like a world of stone standing upright.

Ancient monkey statues towered on both sides, staffs planted firmly beside them as their eyes glowed with an ancient golden light.

They didn’t feel like statues.

No!

They felt alive.

Even from this distance, I could feel the weight of their presence!

Beneath the gate...

People.

Countless figures.

Platforms.

Flying beasts.

Ships.

Clans.

Factions.

Monks.

The skies themselves had become crowded.

"Hehehe..." Son-Kai suddenly stood up, a grin spreading across his face.

"Welcome boys..."

"To the Tomb of the First Monkey King."

I looked back and forth.

Focus shifting between the massive gate, the ocean of people below, and the grinning Son-Kai, and my own grin grew to match his..

"Oh, this is going to be so much fun!!"
