Chapter 52: Chapter 51: An Exhilarating Rebirth

The Resurrection Celestial Lord’s five-meter-tall figure almost touched the shop’s ceiling.

The moment the Resurrection Celestial Lord was summoned, healing energy enveloped Zhao Kai. He stood dumbfounded, sensing the Power of Rules emanating from it.

The Resurrection Celestial Lord’s Rule Authority, Eternal Life Reformation, and its skill, Recovery Enlightenment, activated simultaneously. A Core of Resurgence, interwoven with gold and green, merged into Zhao Kai’s chest.

Then, Zhao Kai felt an unbearable itch from the stumps of his limbs, which had been numb for so many years and would only ache and itch on rainy days.

Next, at a speed visible to the naked eye, his severed right arm and both legs began to rapidly grow back.

Although Zhao Kai felt his body growing weaker and weaker during the process, he couldn’t help but laugh out loud, tears and snot streaming down his face.

This was a cathartic rebirth!

The fist-sized depression on the left side of Zhao Kai’s head was also restored under the Resurrection Celestial Lord’s Rule Authority.

Just as Zhao Kai was trembling with excitement and joy, staring in disbelief at his newly grown legs and right arm, a clear, melodious voice tinged with a smile rang out.

"The recovery went better than I expected!"

"This recovery has overdrawn a great deal of the Life Energy within your body. It will take at least half a year of proper nourishment to fully replenish what was lost."

"There should be a bathroom in the shop, right? You look a bit of a mess right now."

"A new life calls for a new look. Why don’t you calm down and get yourself cleaned up? Then I’ll take a look at whether your two Guardian Beasts can be healed."

Zhao Kai concealed the excitement and joy of his rebirth deep within his eyes, turning to look at Zhong Yi with gratitude.

He dropped to both knees on the floor, cupped his fists, and declared,

"Master, you have granted me a new life. From now on, I, Zhao Kai, would lay down my life for you."

Zhao Kai’s words and actions were subconscious; as he spoke, he didn’t realize how cringey he was being.

He had even forgotten that his Soul Base had been infested with Insect Eggs.

But those words were truly from the bottom of Zhao Kai’s heart!

As a modern person, Zhong Yi’s toes curled from the secondhand embarrassment, but he stepped forward, bent down, and helped Zhao Kai up.

"Just call me Young Master. I’ll take you to your new home in a bit."

"Is there anything here you need to take with you? I’ll help you pack up."

Zhao Kai had always been someone who valued his freedom immensely, but after this experience, the words "new home" stirred a sense of longing in his heart.

"Young Master, the stone and wood materials here are the most common kind you can find, but I put real effort into these wood and stone carvings."

"If you don’t mind, Young Master, you could take these carvings. Even if you don’t use them for decoration, the craftsmanship alone would let them sell for a bit of money."

As he said this, Zhao Kai glanced around the small shop where he had been cooped up ever since arriving in Starlight City.

Zhao Kai felt no attachment to the little shop, for it held the version of himself that had lived a life worse than a dog’s.

After leaving this shop, he would once again become that Four-finger Creator revered by thousands.

Previously, the injury to the left side of his brain had prevented Zhao Kai from controlling his Soul Power to concoct Potions, but when using an Engraving Knife to carve stone and wood, he had still displayed the terrifying control of a Four-finger Creator.

While Zhong Yi was downstairs helping pack the finished stone and wood carvings into a Storage Bag, Zhao Kai was already standing in front of the mirror in the second-floor bathroom.

Because of his previous disability, the bathroom hadn’t been used in a long time, and even the mirror was covered in a thick layer of dust.

Zhao Kai raised his hand and wiped the mirror, looking at his own wretched appearance reflected in it.

Zhao Kai didn’t dwell on sentimentality. Instead, he gave a carefree smile.

The image of Zhong Yi surfaced in his mind. His lips moved, silently mouthing the words, "Thank you."

The sound of running water echoed from the bathroom. As Zhong Yi packed the lifelike stone and wood carvings into a Storage Pouch, he began to ponder.

’When I was designing the game, I created a lot of Guardian Beast "easter eggs" that needed to be triggered in special ways, like the Illusion-tailed Fox.’

’But I only designed two major "opportunities" within Starlight City.’

’One opportunity was in the Upper City District, and the other was in the Lower City District.’

’And the opportunity in the Upper City District was precisely this Four-finger Creator, Zhao Kai!’ freёweɓnovel.com

’When I originally designed the Zhao Kai opportunity, it was to motivate players to spend a lot of money to buy and reroll for a Healing Element Order Beast.’

’But because the operator set the price for Order Beasts too high, not a single Healing Element Order Beast was ever rolled by the time the servers shut down.’

’In the game, Zhao Kai’s opportunity was never triggered. But after I transmigrated into this world and recruited him, I’ve already secured the opportunity from the Upper City District.’

’In the next few days, I plan to make a trip to the Lower City District and secure that opportunity as well.’

’Having a Four-finger Creator join me is an incredible boon, both for my current situation and for my future plans to build my own faction.’

’And if I remember correctly, Zhao Kai is a Four-finger Peak Creator, just one step away from becoming a Five-finger Creator.’

Before long, Zhong Yi heard footsteps on the stairs. He looked up to see a handsome, rugged-looking middle-aged man walking down.

If not for his eyes, which revealed him to be Zhao Kai, it would be hard to equate this handsome man in a long, ink-black robe with the disheveled Zhao Kai from just moments before.

Before Zhao Kai could speak, Zhong Yi spoke first.

"I saw the Beast Pattern on your chest earlier. One of your Guardian Beasts is an Earth Dragon. The shop isn’t large enough for you to summon it."

"The yard behind your shop looks spacious. Why don’t you summon your Guardian Beasts there?"

Zhao Kai was deeply moved that Zhong Yi was so concerned about his Guardian Beasts.

Having experienced the fickleness of human nature, Zhao Kai understood just how precious this concern truly was.

"Young Master, my Lifebound Guardian Beast and the one I contracted later are both Earth Dragons. I do need to summon them in the backyard."

"It’s just that my two Guardian Beasts are in an even more wretched state than I was. One of them has been afflicted with a chronic poison, and foul-smelling pus and blood constantly seep from its sores."

"I hope my two Guardian Beasts won’t offend you, Young Master."

Zhong Yi waved his hand dismissively at his words.

"That’s not important. Your body has recovered now. I was wondering, do you have any savings left?"

"If not, I can give you some. Go and purchase some blood-based food and nourishing materials for your two Guardian Beasts."

"Feed them the blood-based food before the treatment!"

Earth Dragons have very strong digestive and absorptive abilities; once consumed, blood-based food is rapidly converted into Energy.

The Resurrection Celestial Lord’s healing method required the Guardian Beast to consume its own Energy, and Zhong Yi had gathered from Zhao Kai’s words that his two Guardian Beasts were on the verge of death, their internal Energy completely depleted.

If they didn’t replenish it beforehand, there would be almost no Energy available for the treatment.
