Chapter 59: Personal Mission-3

"You?" Jordan laughed coldly, and said, "Why?"

"You must have offended Alchemist Harley in some way. Otherwise, how could it be that he would make trouble for our family for no reason?" Sharley spoke slowly, then gesturing at his son, said, "This boy went to be examined yesterday. He has great potential for fire control. Thus, hehe, he has already been accepted by Alchemist Harley as an apprentice. After a few years’ hard work, Alchemist Harley would take him in as an official disciple. In the future, he would become an alchemist."

His son, Alex, walked up to stand proudly beside Sharley. There was immeasurable pride on his face as if the entire world was under his feet, even the general’s son wouldn’t have such an expression standing beside his father.

After the "trouble" caused by Jordan’s son, he had lost the chance to enroll in Dragon City Academy. But who would have thought that when a door closed, a window would open? He actually had great potential for fire control, so there was a high chance that he would become an alchemist in the future.

Alchemist–the most powerful, most noble profession in the whole of the sanctuary... no, the whole of earth and its Empires!

Sharley was very proud. His two sons weren’t even able to compare with Jordan before, but that was all right, for his grandson was much, much more outstanding than Alex!

"Is that so?" Darius shook his head and couldn’t help but speak up, "I can guarantee that you will never become an alchemist’s apprentice, so of course, you will never become an alchemist either."

"Hahahaha, who do you think you are? Who is this kid you brought, Jordan? Do you actually think you can influence Alchemist Harley’s decision?" Alex laughed coldly. He felt this was the biggest joke in the world...if Jordan really had such an ability and connections, then why would Alchemist Harley purposely cause trouble and delay the distribution of alchemical pills for the family? freeωebnovēl.c૦m

Plus, when he called him kid he truly wasn’t exxagerating, he was merely seventeen like himself at most. So what kind of inflience did such a kid have? Nothing! Unless he was part of a big family or the son of a guild leader.

However, if Jordan had the ability to befriend and seek aid from such people, they would have never caused trouble for him in the first place, they would have been very obedient and even more loyal than before. In reality, their true goal was to make the family become better; everything else was secondary.

Darius did not say anything else. He only smiled...after all, things would become clear later.

However, even Jordan himself did not take Darius’s threat seriously. In his opinion, although this young man had truly displayed a great confidence and even had the demon suppression office praise his establishment, he couldn’t possibly have any relations with Alchemist Harley.

While he might solve the problem, directly altering Harley decision about taking disciple was a thing even his parents might not be able to influence, much less a kid several decades younger than him.

Although the four of them all belonged to the Snowwell family, they were mutually antagonistic, so how could they possibly have any common topics to converse with each other? After the short verbal battle, they each kept silent, waiting for the arrival of Alchemist Harley.

However, this Alchemist Harley really liked to put on airs. After a long time, he still had not appeared. When they were nearing the limits of their patience, they finally heard footsteps from outside the door.

"Zhi..." the door opened, and a medium-sized man entered. This man could only be Alchemist Harley.

There was only one alchemist in the whole of Dragon City, even more so, only one surnamed Harley.

Jordan, his son, and Sharley, plus his son, all stood up, grasping their fists in greeting. Alex even bent and knelt in front of the newcomer and said respectfully, "Disciple Alex hereby greets Master!"

In the new world and after the changes that occured over the centeriues, the martial arts of old became the normal as all strong people who treaded the path of cultivation would take on such actions to display their respect, speak and much more.

It wouldn’t be an axxegeration to say that the very foundation of the entire earth was altered into martial arts culture, even though mages were by no means any less than warriors, martial arts was seen as cultivation and so was cultivation. While they were called warriors and mages and cultivators to generalize, in some parts of earth, they were instead called martial artists.

An alchemist’s apprentice could barely be counted as half an alchemist’s disciple.

"You may rise," Harley casually waved his hands and nodded at Jordan, saying, "You don’t have to waste your time on pleasantries. Let’s just get down to business. I’m a very busy man."

"Kid, how dare you not greet Alchemist Harley?" Alex immediately pointed at Darius. He had very sharp eyes and had immediately noticed that Darius had not greeted Alchemist Harley. He was even just sitting there as if nothing important was going on.

Even Jordan was very surprised. The reason he had invited Alchemist Harley to dinner tonight was to curry favor with the man and solve the medicine supply problem. But now Alex had taken advantage of and directly pointed out this weakness; were things going to turn bad?

If Darius acted very direspectful, Alchemist Harley might not take their words and direct dismiss them. After all, he by means lacked connections and Jordan didn’t think that Darius could outpower Harley, at most, his parents could stand at equal ground.

He could not help getting angry in secret. The important thing was to settle the problem that the Snowwell family was facing now. How could Alex be so petty? He suddenly felt that he really wanted to kill this little brat in one blow.

"Hey, he really doesn’t know the rules of the game!" Sharley too harrumphed seeing this scene, not missing out on the chance.
