Chapter 21: Chapter 21: Top of the Tier

After a night of fighting, he had finally found his fighting spirit.

This time, he stopped playing tricks. He went in alone with just his spear, charging straight into the center of the last dozen Eldritch skeletons.

Facing the attack, Kevin stayed calm. He raised his spear, blocked, dodged, and struck back.

Every time he was about to get hurt, he used The Fixing Gaze.

In the end, right after using his last charge of The Fixing Gaze, Kevin killed the last Eldritch skeleton on the deck.

He leaned on his spear, breathing hard.

This was his first time letting loose since he was reborn, and his most satisfying fight yet.

Even though he didn’t have his past-life strength or powers yet, he had successfully found his fighting heart again.

Kevin smiled, satisfied.

But in Leo’s eyes, that smile was deeply unsettling.

Just remembering how Kevin acted like a killing god, fighting a whole group of skeletons alone with his Lance of Longinus, made Leo deeply afraid of him.

He was badly hurt, the poison was still in his body, and Stephanie had ruined his manhood.

Even in his anger, he knew he couldn’t cross Kevin. Otherwise, he would die.

Leo turned his head away, tears of anger rolling down his face. "Kevin... just you wait. I’ll get my revenge."

Three hours later, in the captain’s cabin.

Kevin wore a bathrobe, leaning back against the headboard, resting his eyes.

Luna had just given him two rounds of massage. Now she was completely drained, lying against Kevin’s chest and whining softly.

There was a knock on the door.

Amelia and Stephanie walked in, carrying a pile of old, broken weapons.

Clatter!

Amelia dropped the gear on the floor.

They were all old, rusty melee weapons.

A rusty cutlass...

A broken pitchfork...

A mossy axe...

And a crumbling hand crossbow...

Kevin looked at the scrap metal on the floor and nodded. "Good work tonight. Pick one weapon each, then go rest. We’ll talk more when morning comes."

Amelia and Stephanie looked at each other.

Amelia walked up to Kevin. Seeing him half-dressed, her face turned red. She took a fist-sized crystal skull out of her pocket and handed it to him. "This was dropped by the skeletons. It might be useful for you."

Kevin looked at the Eldritch skull in her hand. His eyes lit up.

Another Eldritch Artifact!

[Pirate’s Crystal Skull: C-Tier Eldritch Artifact. Can be attached to melee weapons. Killing Eldritch Entities with it increases the drop rate of Eldritch Artifacts by 10%.]

Kevin took the Pirate’s Crystal Skull and admired it.

"This is an Eldritch Artifact. They drop from Eldritch Entities sometimes. It holds all their power essence, showing the source of their abilities. This skull represents the stealing power of those skeletons."

He looked up and explained it to Amelia.

Amelia quickly learned the method Kevin taught.

A golden light flickered in front of her eyes, and she clearly saw the full description of the Pirate’s Crystal Skull.

After reading it, Amelia clenched her fist in excitement.

She untied a string of hair ties from her hair and handed them to Kevin along with the skull. "Captain, this Eldritch Artifact is best for you. You should take it. On this ship, you’re the only one who can fight Eldritch Entities head-on. I’ll give you the hair ties so you can string it on."

Kevin didn’t expect Amelia to step back when faced with such a temptation.

He admired her character and morals again. "You don’t need to step back. Your performance in this fight is enough to secure your place on the ship."

He handed Amelia three Holy Spring bottles. "Go back and rest well. I promise you, if I find an Eldritch Artifact that fits you, you’ll get it first."

Hearing his promise, Amelia’s shoulders instantly relaxed. She felt lighter all over. "Thank you, Captain."

She picked up the crossbow on the floor and left the cabin with a cheerful smile.

Kevin watched her back walk away, his eyes narrowing slightly.

He had been watching the Affection stat above her head the whole time.

From start to finish, it stayed locked at exactly 95.

Obviously, Amelia wouldn’t easily raise her favor for someone just because of gifts.

This girl was so guarded. Pretty tough to handle.

Kevin kept his praise to himself.

Only then did he notice Stephanie still standing at the door, clutching her skirt, looking shy and expectant.

Kevin’s expression instantly turned cold. "Why are you still here?"

Stephanie looked up at Kevin and asked carefully. "Kevin, Cap... Captain, I joined the fight too. I’m all dirty and smelly. Can I use your bathroom?" fɾēewebnσveℓ.com

Hearing the word "fight," Kevin almost laughed out of anger.

From start to finish, Stephanie fired ten shots.

Besides the first shot hitting Leo in the butt, the other nine all missed.

On this terrifying sea, wasting ammo means wasting life.

Just thinking about that made Kevin angry. "No."

Hearing the refusal, Stephanie’s expression turned weird. "Why? I clearly joined the fight!"

Kevin scoffed lightly. "Then please tell me, how many Eldritch Entities did you kill?"

Stephanie was speechless, stuttering. "I... I was covering you..."

Hearing that excuse, Luna in Kevin’s arms just laughed.

She propped herself up, showing her bare white shoulders, and mocked Stephanie. "Stop making excuses. I watched from the bridge from start to finish. That wasn’t covering fire, that was trying to kill a teammate. The bullet hole in Leo’s butt is still bleeding."

Stephanie looked embarrassed but still refused to leave. However, Kevin didn’t give her a chance to speak again. He grabbed a pile of empty bottles from the nightstand and threw them at her. "Take these to get water and wash up in the bathroom yourself. I’m a clean freak. The captain’s cabin is only for me to use."

Stephanie silently picked up the bottles, looking resentful. Suddenly, she looked at Luna and asked bitterly, "Then why is he allowed to use the bathroom?"

Kevin raised his eyebrow. "Because she’s my woman, and she’s only ever been touched by me."

Stephanie caught the mockery in his words. Her face burned with shame and anger, and she turned to leave.

Luna caught the praise in his words and kissed his cheek affectionately. "I’ll always be yours alone."

Then Kevin and Luna kept at it for another two hours.

A faint glow appeared in the sky.

Even though there was no sun in this sea, the dark clouds still let through a little light.

Kevin held Luna in his arms against the headboard. His body instantly tensed. "Something is going to happen."

"What?" Luna mumbled sleepily.

But soon, her eyes snapped open.

At the same time, all over the ship, Amelia, Stephanie, and Leo woke up.

A light screen unfolded before their eyes. The familiar voice echoed in everyone’s ears.
