Chapter 10: Chapter 10: Enchantment Bullets

Strange magic runes shimmered across the bullets. "I enchanted these myself. 9mm caliber. When they hit a target, they trigger a blast of intense light and searing heat. The damage is equivalent to a high-explosive incendiary grenade."

Kevin picked up the bullets and examined them closely.

Soon, a message floated before Kevin’s eyes.

[9mm Handgun Bullet · EnchantFireball: On impact, deals one instance of Fireball magic damage to the target.]

Seeing this message, Kevin glanced at Amelia.

Fortunately, he was the captain now. The rules prevented the other Survivors on the ship from attacking him directly.

Otherwise, just her ability to enchant bullets would be more than enough to cause him serious trouble.

With that in mind, Kevin didn’t hesitate. He picked up the five bullets on the table and jerked his chin.

"You want to make a deal with me?"

Amelia nodded. "Exactly. You’ve got bullets, right? I can enchant them for you. In exchange, you need to supply me with enough food and water, and hand over a share of the bullets. I’m running low on ammo."

Kevin shot her a look. "What, scared to eat the Barnacles?"

At the word "Barnacles," Amelia’s face drained of color. "Stop kidding. The eyes on those things look just like human eyes. They show all sorts of emotions. How am I supposed to eat something like that?"

Kevin nodded.

He casually conjured three bottles of Holy Springs and tossed them to Amelia. "This is Holy Spring. Quenches thirst, replenishes vitamins, and boosts your stamina. With this, starvation won’t be an issue."

With that, Kevin pulled a stack of magazines from his inventory. "How many times a day can you cast Enchantment?"

"Ten times. After that, my focus breaks, and I have to rest before I can cast again." Amelia took the bullets from Kevin. "You handed over twelve rounds. I’ll enchant ten for you and keep two for myself. Is that okay?"

Kevin smiled.

He hadn’t expected Amelia to still hold onto basic fairness and honesty, even in this situation.

"Fine." Kevin nodded, then pointed out the window to the pile of Ocular Barnacles on the deck. "Just a heads-up. My intel talent says those ugly things are edible. Especially the eye. Swallow it, and it might save your life when you need it most."

Amelia stared silently at Kevin for ten seconds.

Then she sighed. "Thanks for the warning. If it ever comes down to life or death, I’ll follow your advice."

Kevin chuckled. "Deal."

[Affection +30]

Amelia stared at the hickey on Kevin’s neck, then glanced toward the bedroom door. "You’re the captain now. I’m counting on you to keep me alive. So try to keep it down. You two were at it for hours, and I could hear it all the way out on the deck."

Her face flushed red, Amelia turned and practically bolted out of the captain’s quarters.

Kevin watched the affection bar over Amelia’s head bounce back to zero and smirked. "Amelia, I’m going to get that Enchantment ability of yours one way or another."

Not long after Amelia left, Stephanie dragged Leo over.

The moment they spotted the hickey on his neck and connected it to what just happened in there, both of them looked painfully awkward.

Leo, in particular, wore a deeply conflicted expression. Shock, envy, jealousy, and confusion all warred in his eyes.

Stephanie, standing nearby, looked at Kevin with equal interest and curiosity.

"Hey, how about those Barnacles? Tasty?" Kevin didn’t let them speak first, going straight for the sarcasm.

The moment they heard "Barnacle," a wave of nausea hit both of them.

Leo pointed at Kevin’s nose, ready to curse him out, but Stephanie immediately slapped his arm away. She turned to Kevin and smiled. "Kevin, those Barnacles are way too gross. You’ve got plenty of food and water here. Just share a little with us, okay?"

"When we run into my sister, I’ll seriously persuade her to serve you properly. Maybe even let you have a Kid with her."

At the word "Kid," Kevin’s expression instantly turned cold. "Save it. Don’t disgust me. I have nothing left to do with your sister."

With that, Kevin casually pulled a pack of sandwiches from his backpack and started munching.

Sure, they were just ordinary supermarket sandwiches. Under normal circumstances, Stephanie and Leo wouldn’t have even glanced at them.

But here, on this terrifying sea, stranded with nowhere to go, the only food on the ship was Barnacles.

After a half-day of chaos, Leo and Stephanie were starving.

In that moment, the sandwich in Kevin’s hand was worth more than any signature dish from a Michelin-star chef. freewebnσvel.cøm

Gurggle!

Gurggle!

Both Leo and Stephanie’s stomachs let out loud, simultaneous growls.

Leo took a deep breath and stepped forward. "Kevin, how about we make a deal? You know, Joseph is pretty close to your girlfriend, Bella."

"Hand over the food and water. Not only will I protect you when things get dangerous, but I’ll also promise to help you take down Joseph when we meet him and Bella. That way, Bella will eventually change her mind about you. Sound good?"

Stephanie chimed in from the side. "Exactly, Kevin! Don’t get disheartened just because my sister is close to Joseph. With our help, you’ll win her back sooner or later."

Hearing their nonsense, Kevin actually burst out laughing. "Win her back? Does she even deserve it?"

Just then, the bedroom door creaked open.

Luna walked into the living room, rubbing her sleepy eyes. "You guys are so loud. Can’t you let someone sleep?"

Luna was wearing a bathrobe too, her neck covered in hickeys.

The moment Stephanie and Leo saw the marks on her, and the way her legs were slightly parted, everything suddenly clicked. "Bitch! So you were the one messing around with Kevin in the room just now!"

Stephanie pointed at Luna, furious.

Then she whirled back to Kevin, outraged. "Kevin, how can you let yourself down my sister Bella like this? You actually cheated! You scumbag!"

Leo stood aside, first glancing at Luna, then at Kevin, wearing a mocking expression. "Kevin, we’re all men. It’s understandable if a guy plays around occasionally. But if you don’t want Stephanie and me to tell Bella about this, you’d better share some food and water with us. That way, we can keep your secret."

With that, he took another look at Luna. Now wrapped in a bathrobe, her figure was incredibly attractive, her healthy skin radiating a unique allure. Leo swallowed hard, instinctively looking away. After all, Stephanie was right there. He wouldn’t dare push it too far.

Kevin ignored them both. He reached into his backpack and, like a magician pulling a trick, produced an apple, tossing it to Luna.

Luna’s eyes lit up at the apple in her hands. "You actually still have fruit! I love you so much!"

She leaned in and planted a quick kiss on Kevin, then cradled the apple and took a big bite.

Seeing this, Stephanie and Leo grew anxious. "Kevin, that’s enough!"

Stephanie marched up to Kevin and snapped, "Why does she get to share your food but I can’t?"

Kevin raised an eyebrow. "She slept with me. What about you?"

At Kevin’s words, Stephanie’s face drained of color. Her hands clenched tightly at the hem of her skirt, her expression torn.

Seeing this, Leo quickly stepped in front of Stephanie, glaring at Kevin. "You damn Kevin! If you even think about making a move on Stephanie, I swear I’ll fight you to the death!"

With that, he turned around, grabbed Stephanie by the arm, and dragged her toward the door.

But the furious Leo didn’t notice the fleeting, secretive glances Stephanie shot toward Kevin.

Shyness... nervousness... anticipation...

Clang!

The captain’s quarters door slammed shut.

Luna wrapped her arms around Kevin’s shoulder, speaking softly. "Stephanie seems pretty interested in you."

Kevin shrugged. "The best is yet to come."

Inside the sailors’ quarters.

The moment Leo pulled Stephanie inside, he locked the door behind them. "Stephanie, don’t be tempted by that devil Kevin! I believe we’ll definitely find food and water!"

Hearing this, Stephanie first shrugged off Leo’s hand, then put on a hurt expression and complained, "I don’t want to be harassed by that disgusting guy Kevin either. But we haven’t eaten or drunk anything for a full day."

With that, she squatted down on the floor, buried her face in her hands, and began to sob.
