Chapter 125: Down Her Throat
Nico
The moment I watched her walk into the house, arriving late almost at the same time I did, I knew she was beyond pissed off.
The anger basically hovered around her like an aura, her gaze flaming as she looked right at me walking straight towards me just as she walked past the door. ƒree𝑤ebnσvel.com
"You look mad!" I was unable to help the slight chuckle that followed as my gaze slid from her reddened face tight down to her neck and down her chest.
The flush on her skin made her look every bit as tasty even though I’d been fed not too long ago.
Not surprised to feel her irritation deepen when she caught my gaze that lingered on her breasts as I stood in front of her as she began to speak.
"They are making a case against me, and making bogus evidence," a hint of worry in her tone as she spoke, "...they’re planning to charge me and take me to court," she continued.
"I know it! The two detectives I saw were hell bent on it! Someone is paying them to do this," nodding my head as I looked at her really looked at her. She was angrier than I expected her to be.
She should have been prepared to hear things that were bound to piss her off so the fact that the rage seemed to have seeped right in only meant one thing.
They had most likely gone beyond threatening her.
"Do you want them dead? Just say the word and..."
"I don’t want them dead Nico! But I do want whosoever is trying to bury me, buried. The case should disappear and be gone. It’s spoiling my reputation. Leave it long enough and the truth would no longer matter," she said and I could hear a bit of exasperation in her voice as she spoke.
It was the kind of tiredness that came right from your soul when you’re tired of doing your best to hold the chaos at bay.
"I don’t care if you threaten them," she said making it clear that she wanted it handled not caring what methods got the job done.
She didn’t mention killing them but the heat in her gaze as she said those words, I knew she wouldn’t cry over them if they suddenly disappeared and went missing.
Not that I would do it seeing as how it would only make it worse drawing more attention to Catmen as the mastermind in the background went ahead to use it to cause more problems for her.
"Consider it done! I’ll take care of it," I told her sliding my hands around her waist as I nudged her towards the corner of the mansion that led to my room as she turned to look at me glaring.
But I didn’t care dismissing the guards behind us as I gently nudged her upstairs, "...you must be starving! I had the chef prepare something warm for us," I told her with a warm smile on my face not surprised to see her continue to send me wary looks like I was leading her to the slaughter and she was dinner.
She was on the menu but I wasn’t crass enough to make it so obvious that I intended to eat her as I led her towards the dining room on my side of the mansion pushing the door open to reveal a decorated dining room with candlelight dinner.
It was excessive and immersive and the lights on the ceiling danced in a way that even I was impressed as I focused my gaze on Carmen who looked stunned.
Mouth falling open as she gasped staring at the roof in shock and around the hall before her gaze slowly fell on me.
"What is this?" she slowly asked even as I grabbed her hand and led her inside closing the door behind me.
"What does it look like? A dinner," I responded even as I felt her gaze on me get more intense clearly she didn’t like my answer.
"It’s a dinner Carmen! For both of us! We’ve been working so hard! We deserve a break once in a while," I told her leading her towards her chair as I pulled it out helping her sit before heading towards the opposite side of the table and taking a seat.
Allowing a soft smile to paint my face as I looked at her, amused to see her sit like she was sitting for another interrogation ready to spring up at the first sign of anything being wrong.
"What? You don’t like it?" I asked her even as I gestured into the air and the servants who had been waiting by the side moved towards the tables at the corner of the room and picked up a few dishes before moving to hand us the menu.
"It looks great! I just can’t fathom why you would do such a thing! It...it almost looks like a...like a date," she said struggling to get the words out as she met my gaze and I returned hers with a smile on my face.
"If it were a date? Is that something that should worry you? We are sleeping together," I responded even as she looked more and more confused coupled with a sense of annoyance that was seeping out.
"It’s a get to know each other date! There’s nothing wrong with that," I replied as I scanned through the menu in my hands and she made it clear that she was displeased. Not that I expected anything else.
"We sleep together, nothing more!" as I let out a low sigh while still staring at the menu judging that she was yet to pick up hers.
"There’s no reason why we can’t eat together," I responded looking up to meet her gaze as I held it when she placed her menu on the table making it clear that she had no intentions of actually looking at it which was fine. It was.
"Yes but I would prefer it didn’t look like a date. We could have eaten normally without the..."
"Does it bother you that much? A date?" I asked her hating the edge I could sense in my tone as I spoke as she looked straight into my eyes like she did anytime we were on the verge of getting into an argument. freeωebnovēl.c૦m
I didn’t want us to argue. I wanted us to eat because apart from the sex, we were more than business partners that much was clear.
"With the way you moan when I fuck you I didn’t think a date would be such a problem," I said and wasn’t surprised when a bit of fire flashed in her eyes as she sat up straighter and froze.
Clearly I had crossed a line.
"I’d never ever be anything more than a business partner. You and I will never even be lovers not to mention a date!" she snapped at me her breathing heavier than usual enough to heighten the already tense atmosphere and she didn’t end there.
"It’s just sex! You said it yourself! Once we’ve both had enough of that, we’ll move on and end it. We are mainly business partners and nothing more," she said looking at me with anger in her eyes and all I could think of was what she was trying to hide.
Experienced enough to know that anger was never simply just that unlike other emotions. People that used it, did so because it was simply the easiest to show. Easily accessible to reach for.
"So if I said I wanted us to date you would be against it?" I asked mostly curious as she instantly responded.
"I would instantly refuse. Because you don’t have a heart. You only do things that benefit you with a long or short distance goal in mind. That’s not how relationships work,"
"Really? For someone that has never been in a relationship Carmen you sound like an expert," a little ticked off especially since she was right.
Why would I date anyone simply for the sake of dating? Wasn’t that stupid? Moreover no one ever did. Love was never just love. Even for the simplest reasons, like beauty, sense of humour, height, tone of speaking.
Every decision whether consciously or unconsciously was made for a reason. Pretending otherwise was stupid and delusional.
"If I’m going to date anyone Nico. It wouldn’t be you because the guy I would want to date would be the opposite of you,"
"Boring, poor and ugly?"
"Caring, loving and with a heart in his chest instead of stone," she responded which made me chuckle aware that she left out the part where I knew she would like a man who didn’t kill people for a living.
"...someone that adores me and doesn’t intend to use me."
"I adore you!" I told her leaning towards the table stretching my hands out to try and grab her own especially since the dinner plan went downhill the moment we sat down.
"...someone that doesn’t mistake desire for something else," she added and I let out a low sigh raising my fingers to call for the waiter who instantly appeared beside us.
"I’ll have this," pointing to one of the main dishes in the menu even as Carmen glared at me as she spoke.
"I’m not hungry," she said as I pointed to something else on the menu.
"She’ll have this..." I continued before dismissing the waiter as Carmen burned with anger glaring openly at me.
"...I won’t eat!" she said and I could hear the anger in my voice as I responded.
"...then we might as well head to the bedroom. I’m hungry enough for two," seeing as if she indeed didn’t want to eat then I wasn’t about to force it down her throat.
