Chapter 4: The Goblin King

It had been five years since that incident.

Now Ronnie and Hina were living with the baby in a small village far away from that town.

Their lives had changed completely.

Both of them left the adventurer life behind and started living as normal farmers.

They used the money they had saved over the years to buy a small house and some farming land.

The village was far away from the big towns.

Small.

Quiet. ƒreewebηoveℓ.com

There was no adventurer guild there, and very few outsiders ever came.

That was why they were safe there.

Every morning, Ronnie worked in the fields and sometimes hunted inside the forest near the village.

Meanwhile, Hina stayed at home and took care of the child.

And now—

That baby had already turned five years old.

They gave him a name.

Arya.

Ronnie and the other villagers went into the forest for hunting.

After evening, they finally returned while carrying a big wild boar with them.

The village was not very big.

Small houses stood near the trees around the middle area of the village.

And that night—

Everyone gathered together in the center of the village.

Ronnie and the others started burning the wild boar to prepare dinner while other villagers helped them.

For the villagers, today felt like a small party.

The smell of meat slowly spread through the night air.

Children were running around laughing while the adults talked happily with each other.

Then Hina arrived with Arya. ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom

Arya was walking while holding Hina’s hand.

As they walked closer, Hina met one of her friends whose house was beside theirs.

"Your daughter has become bigger," Hina said with a smile.

"It has been five months since you left for your mother’s house. Look at her now... she looks much bigger than before."

Nisha smiled softly.

"It really has been months since I returned here," Nisha said.

"I missed all of you."

Then she looked at Arya.

"Arya also looks cute."

Hina looked down at Arya.

"What are you standing there for? Say hello to Nisha aunty and your friend Aisha,"

Hina said gently.

Arya and Aisha looked at each other before greeting each other shyly.

The night continued happily.

Everyone ate meat together, laughed, and drank while enjoying the peaceful night in the village.

But—

The next day, some monsters came near the riverside close to the village.

When the villagers heard about the monsters near the riverside, everyone became scared.

Most of the people in the village were only farmers.

Only a few of them were hunters.

Then Ronnie, Suman, and a few other men went to check how many monsters were there.

After reaching the riverside, they quickly hid behind the trees a little far away.

On the other side of the river—

There were goblin monsters.

Around twelve of them.

The goblins were moving around near the water while carrying weapons made from wood and stone.

"If they attack the village, they will destroy everything," Suman said quietly.

But Ronnie stayed silent.

He continued staring at the goblins.

Suman noticed his expression and placed a hand on his shoulder.

"What happened, Ronnie?" Suman asked.

Ronnie slowly turned back toward them.

"Those goblins are not the real problem here," Ronnie said seriously.

"If only those twelve came, we could still handle them."

Then one of the men spoke nervously.

"Then what is the problem?"

Ronnie looked toward the forest behind the goblins.

"I think they are not alone."

"Most goblins move in groups."

"And where there are goblins... there is usually a Goblin King and Goblin Queen."

"I think they are hiding somewhere nearby... maybe inside a cave deeper in the forest."

The group suddenly became quiet.

Everyone understood what that meant.

Fighting normal goblins was already dangerous enough.

And even though Ronnie used to be an A-rank adventurer, things were different now.

Recently, some low-ranking monsters had started evolving into stronger monsters.

Sometimes even reaching C-rank or B-rank level.

And if a Goblin King or Goblin Queen attacked the village—

Ronnie and the others would not be able to stop them.
