Chapter 18: The Hidden Treasure Vault

A notification suddenly appeared before Arya.

[Level Up]

[You can now Devour him.]

Arya looked at Rohan’s dead body.

Without hesitation, he placed his hand on Rohan’s body.

Then another hand touched the severed head.

The next moment, black smoke started coming out.

The smoke slowly covered both the body and head.

Then it began getting pulled into Arya’s hand.

Little by little, Rohan’s body disappeared.

Nothing remained behind.

Another notification appeared.

[Level Up]

[Devour Skill Level 3]

Arya looked at the new notification.

Then suddenly—

Knock. Knock.

Someone was outside the door.

The guards had heard the sound from earlier.

"My Lord, are you alright?" one guard asked from outside.

Another guard quickly spoke.

"Did something happen in there, my Lord?"

Before they could say anything else—

The door opened.

Both guards immediately looked up.

Standing before them was Rohan.

At least, that was what they saw.

Nothing seemed strange.

Rohan looked at them calmly.

"Nothing happened."

"A cloth stand fell down."

"I already picked it up."

The guards immediately relaxed.

Then Rohan continued.

"I am going outside."

"Do not follow me."

"Understood?"

"Yes, my Lord," both guards replied at once.

One guard entered the room to check everything.

The other remained outside.

Meanwhile, Rohan walked away from the room.

But the truth was—

It was not Rohan.

It was Arya.

After devouring Rohan, Arya had obtained his transformation ability.

Now he could perfectly transform into Rohan.

Even his appearance, voice, and presence were identical.

As long as he remained in this form, nobody would suspect him.

Nobody would question him.

And now—

Arya could move freely through the castle.

As Arya walked through the castle halls, every guard lowered their head when he passed by. freewebnoveℓ.com

No one dared to question him.

No one even looked directly at him.

Arya continued walking while thinking about the Trial.

If he wanted to pass this Trial, he needed to obtain some rare items.

As far as he knew, there were only two places where he could find them.

The first was the castle treasure room.

The second was the deep dungeon beneath the town.

For now, Arya decided to enter the castle treasure room first.

But to enter that place, he needed permission from the Town Lord.

Rohan’s father.

The problem was that Arya did not know where he was.

Just then, a guard appeared from the opposite side of the hallway.

Since Arya was still using Rohan’s appearance, the guard immediately lowered his head.

Arya stopped him.

"I want to visit my father."

"Take me to him."

The guard immediately nodded.

"Yes, my Lord."

"Please follow me."

The guard led him through several hallways before stopping outside a large room.

Then he respectfully stepped back.

"My Lord, this is the Lord’s office."

Arya looked at the door.

"Good."

"You may leave."

"I want to speak with my father alone."

"Understood, my Lord."

The guard bowed and left.

Outside the office stood two more guards.

When they saw Rohan approaching, they immediately saluted.

"My Lord, the Town Lord is not here."

"He is currently in the meeting room."

Arya nodded.

"I will go there."

"Take me."

"Yes, my Lord."

A few minutes later, they arrived at the meeting room.

After entering, Arya saw many important people gathered around a large table.

The Town Lord sat at the head of the meeting.

The moment he saw Rohan, he frowned slightly.

Arya looked directly at him.

"I need to speak with you alone."

The room immediately became silent.

The Town Lord looked around at the others.

Then They slowly stood up.

Without saying anything, They walked outside.

The meeting ended immediately.

After everyone left, only the two of them remained.

The Town Lord looked at Rohan carefully.

"What happened?"

"Why are you here?"

"Are you alright?"

"You still haven’t recovered from your injuries."

"You should be resting in your room."

The Town Lord’s voice contained concern.

Arya listened quietly.

Then he began telling him everything he needed to hear.

After listening for a long time, the Town Lord finally nodded.

In the end, he agreed.

Arya had obtained permission to enter the treasure room.

Then Arya left the meeting room.

A few minutes later, he arrived outside the treasure room.

But this was not the real treasure room.

It was only the entrance.

Beyond this place was another room, and inside that room was the true treasure vault.

The guards stopped outside.

Only Arya was allowed to enter.

The moment he stepped inside, the door behind him slowly closed.

Only members of the Lord’s family were permitted to enter this place.

Arya continued walking forward.

Then suddenly, the entire room lit up.

Magic lamps hanging on the walls glowed one after another.

The room was filled with all kinds of magic items.

Some were weapons.

Some were armor.

Others were strange treasures that Arya had never seen before.

A faint magical aura filled the air.

Arya slowly looked around while moving deeper inside.

Then he saw it.

In front of him stood a massive door.

It was far larger than a normal door.

Ancient symbols were carved across its surface.

Arya immediately understood.

This was the real treasure vault.

He took out the key he had received.

But after looking at the door carefully, he realized something.

The key alone was not enough to open it.

The door was protected by another mechanism.

A special lock.

Only members of the Lord’s family could unlock it.

Arya frowned slightly.

Standing before the giant door, he wondered how Rohan usually opened it.

Behind this door was the real treasure room.

And somewhere inside it was the item he needed.

But at this moment—

Arya still did not know how to open the vault

Arya just watched the big, massive door for a moment.

The door was huge, but it was still not as big as the door to the Goblin King and Queen’s room in the Goblin Village.

Even so, it was still an enormous and imposing door that gave off a heavy feeling just by looking at it.
