Chapter 184: Chapter 184 - Chaos Element?

Theo’s eyes narrowed slightly.

The bone tunnels were annoying, but they weren’t unbeatable.

As long as he stayed on top of her and forced her into close combat, every second she spent defending herself was a second she couldn’t spend burrowing underground.

’The problem is...’

His grip tightened around the umbrella.

’She still hasn’t revealed her second element.’

That fact alone kept him from charging in recklessly.

Theo’s gaze remained fixed on Lucienne.

She stood perfectly still on the other side of the arena, the tip of her scythe resting lightly against the ground.

There wasn’t the slightest hint of panic on her face.

’’Impressive,’’ she shouted. ’’I can see how you got that title now.’’

Theo’s expression slowly darkened.

Water began swirling around the tip of his umbrella once more as faint arcs of lightning crackled beneath his feet.

Lucienne responded immediately.

She kicked the ground once while twirling the scythe in her hands.

Rumble!

The ground began shaking violently once more.

Crack! Crack! Crack!

Bone hands burst through the earth in every direction.

One skeleton after another clawed its way onto the battlefield, empty eye sockets glowing with pale blue flames.

Theo didn’t hesitate and charged forward.

His body vanished and reappeared dozens of yards farther each time.

But within seconds, well over a hundred undead had risen, forming a moving wall between him and Lucienne.

Theo’s expression didn’t change.

Without slowing down, he flicked his fingers.

Pop! Pop! Pop!

Thin lightning bolts shot through the air, punching clean through skull after skull.

Skeletons collapsed before they had even fully stood up, only for more to continue clawing their way out of the shattered ground.

’She’s trying to slow me down,’ Theo realized. fгeewebnovёl.com

Crack!

A bone hand clawed out of the earth underneath him and grabbed hold of his leg.

’’Tsk!’’

He stomped its head with his other foot, smashing it.

As he glanced up, the wall of skeletons had completely swarmed the path to Lucienne.

’Fucking annoying,’ he thought, coming to a halt. ’Let’s try something else then.’

He flicked his finger, pouring large amounts of mana outside his body.

Several large lightning bolts formed above him.

Without hesitation, he shot them off and continued forming more.

The bolts soared far above the skeletons, high into the sky.

But as they’d covered half the distance, each of them began curving downward and splitting up.

Lucienne’s eyes widened slightly.

The lightning bolts came soaring toward her from all sides.

Even as she moved, their trajectory shifted with her.

Lucienne’s grip tightened around her scythe.

’Homing spells?’ she thought, her brows knitting together.

She immediately swept the weapon through the air.

WHOOSH!

Bone walls erupted around her in rapid succession.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The first few lightning bolts tore straight through them, reducing entire sections to dust.

But the brief delay was enough.

Lucienne kicked off the ground, her robes fluttering behind her as she darted sideways.

The remaining bolts curved sharply after her.

"Persistent..." she muttered.

She slammed the butt of her scythe into the earth.

Crack! Crack! Crack!

Dozens of jagged bone pillars shot up at once, filling the sky around her.

The lightning smashed through pillar after pillar, showering the battlefield with fragments.

She spun around in a circle, twirling her scythe rapidly to block several bolts that had curved around the pillars.

Across the arena, Theo had already begun making his next move.

’While she’s distracted!’ he thought, dashing forward.

Massive amounts of water began swirling around his umbrella in a cylinder-like shape.

Theo’s feet exploded with lightning.

He vanished from his spot, reappearing right in front of the sea of skeletons.

The water around his umbrella accelerated until it became a roaring tornado.

It grew rapidly in size, casting a massive shadow over the skeleton sea and immediately catching Lucienne’s eyes.

’Now,’ he thought, clenching his jaw.

Right in front of the sea of skeletons, he swung his umbrella down with all his might.

Lucienne’s eyes went wide for a moment.

The roaring wave slowly crashed downward.

CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!

It had already started sucking in the nearest skeletons and pulverizing them like a meat grinder.

Lucienne’s expression sharpened.

’Break the source,’ she thought.

Without the slightest hesitation, she dropped to one knee and slammed her free hand against the shattered arena floor.

A pulse of deathly black mana shot through the ground.

It passed underneath all the skeletons and reached Theo in an instant.

Crack!

The pulse of mana caught his attention.

’Shit!’

The earth underneath him bulged up.

But Theo had no intention of canceling his spell. Not with all the mana he’d already poured into it.

BOOOM!

An enormous skeletal hand erupted from the ground below, its five bony fingers snapping shut as they lunged for his body.

It was fast.

Far too fast to dodge while maintaining control of the water tornado.

But Theo had no intention of dodging.

The instant the giant hand emerged, a dense gray mana burst from his body.

It created a massive circular door just a few yards in front of him, surrounding over half of his body.

CRACK!

For a split second, the people in the stands thought he’d been caught.

Then the skeletal hand vanished as if it had never even existed.

Lucienne’s eyes widened, completely caught off guard.

’Huh?’ she thought. ’That’s impossible... I definitely felt it connect.’

She was one hundred percent sure Theo wouldn’t be able to do anything anymore.

Then her spell suddenly vanished and disconnected?

She didn’t get long to think about it.

Theo slammed his umbrella all the way down, finally carving a wide path straight through the horde and the arena.

But he wasn’t done yet.

While everyone was still stunned, the water tornado suddenly popped off his umbrella.

It rushed forward like a massive, swirling wave, heading straight for Lucienne.

The girl’s eyes widened.

’What...?’ she thought, utterly confused.

Suddenly, her instincts screamed for her to move.

Without hesitating, she kicked off the ground as hard as she could.

Crack!

A gigantic skeletal hand erupted from the earth where she’d been standing an instant earlier, the closing fingers crushing nothing but empty air.
