Chapter 290: Chapter 293: Undressing in Front of Felix Preston

"...What are you talking about?" Felix Preston didn’t understand a single word.

"Ugh!" Renee Sinclair stomped her foot anxiously. "How am I supposed to explain this to you..."

She tugged at her hair in frustration. "I... I really have no way to explain it clearly. Just remember, the moment you see me acting crazy again, find something and hit me to snap me out of it!"

"Hit me hard! Use all your strength!"

"...No." Felix Preston shook his head, his rejection swift and firm. "I’m not going to hit you. Go ask someone else for this favor."

"I..." Renee Sinclair was beside herself with anxiety, but she had no idea what else she could say to persuade Felix Preston.

Felix Preston pushed up his glasses and unceremoniously shooed her away. "It’s getting late. You should hurry back and get some rest. For this kind of favor, you’d be better off asking a girl. It’s not appropriate for you to ask me."

"...Got it." Renee Sinclair’s spirit instantly deflated.

’Of course I know it’s more appropriate to ask a girl for help, but the system controls my body and only makes me act up when Felix Preston is around. Where am I supposed to find a girl to help me now?’

She slumped her shoulders in defeat and turned to walk toward her room.

Felix Preston frowned as he watched her retreat, completely baffled by her act. He had no desire to get involved. As long as Renee Sinclair didn’t bother him, he couldn’t be bothered with her nonsense.

Although Kyloria wasn’t as cold as Aethelburg, the outdoor temperature still dropped several degrees below zero at night. With the door open, all the warm air from the heating was escaping. Felix Preston took a step back, intending to close the door.

But the next moment, Renee Sinclair’s voice called out to him again.

"Felix Preston."

Felix Preston frowned impatiently. "Is there something else?"

"Yes. There’s something else I need from you."

Perhaps because it was so cold, Renee Sinclair’s voice had suddenly become stiff and mechanical.

Felix Preston pulled the door open again. "What is it?"

Renee Sinclair turned, her movements stiff as she walked back to stand in front of Felix Preston.

Felix Preston lowered his gaze to her, waiting quietly for her to speak.

But she didn’t say a word. She just stared ahead with a blank gaze, then raised her hands and suddenly unzipped her down jacket.

"...What are you doing?" Felix Preston still hadn’t realized what Renee Sinclair was about to do.

ZIP—

Renee Sinclair yanked the zipper all the way down. Then, grabbing the collar on both sides, she stripped off the pure black down jacket without a moment’s hesitation.

It revealed a cream-colored wool sweater underneath.

The sweater was form-fitting, its thin fabric clinging to her body and outlining her graceful figure.

Felix Preston took one hurried glance before frantically averting his gaze.

"Renee Sinclair, what the hell do you think you’re doing?" he hissed, his face now showing clear signs of anger.

"...Heh." Renee Sinclair grinned, letting out a laugh that was both coy and bizarre. "Felix Preston, I’ve always liked you. Can’t you tell?"

"..." Felix Preston’s brow furrowed deeply, but he didn’t respond.

’Her behavior is just too bizarre,’ he thought. ’Even though I’m still annoyed with her, I can’t help but wonder if she’s lost her mind, or if she’s encountered something... unclean.’

"Renee Sinclair, snap out of it!" Felix Preston barked, trying to jolt her back to her senses.

But not only did she fail to snap out of it, she even raised her hands, grabbed her wool sweater, and pulled it over her head before Felix Preston had time to react.

Fortunately, she was wearing another layer underneath, so he didn’t see her bare torso.

"Renee Sinclair, what are you trying to do?"

Felix Preston’s eyes widened in alarm, and he subconsciously took two steps back.

Renee Sinclair seized the opportunity. With a quick movement, she squeezed past him into the room.

Felix Preston scrambled back a few more steps, looking at her with a shocked and panicked expression. "Renee Sinclair, are you possessed or something? Do you have any idea what you’re doing?"

Renee Sinclair was smiling, a gentle yet obviously strange smile. "Of course I know what I’m doing."

With that, she threw the sweater in her hand to the ground, then once again grabbed the last layer she had on and pulled it off right before his very eyes.

This was her last top. After taking it off, she was left in just a thin bra.

Felix Preston froze for a second before scrambling to pick up the two tops she had discarded, frantically flinging them at her.

"Renee Sinclair, are you insane?"

"Hmph..." Renee Sinclair narrowed her eyes and gave a sinister laugh. She decisively swept the clothes off her shoulders, facing Felix Preston half-naked.

"Felix Preston, don’t you like it?"

"...Are you fucking crazy?!" Felix Preston let out a rare curse.

He strode out of the room, snatched the down jacket from the floor, and threw it at Renee Sinclair. "Put on your clothes and get the hell out!"

"What’s going on? What’s happening?"

Mason Shaw and Jasper Linden came running at the sound of the commotion.

They ran so fast that before Felix Preston had a chance to shout a warning, they were already at the doorway, where they saw the half-dressed Renee Sinclair.

"...Holy shit!"

The two men swore in unison, then simultaneously spun around, turning their backs to Renee Sinclair.

"Wait, what the hell is going on here?" Mason Shaw grabbed Felix Preston’s arm, staring at him as he demanded an answer.

"How should I know?" Felix Preston replied, his face dark. "She said she needed to see me about something, but as soon as I opened the door she started taking her clothes off for no reason! It’s like she’s possessed!"

"What?" Mason Shaw was incredulous—not because he didn’t believe Felix Preston, but because he couldn’t believe it of Renee Sinclair.

’Renee Sinclair had made her share of mistakes in the past, sure,’ he thought. ’But ever since Charlotte Shaw had her baby, she’d cleaned up her act. From spending time with her recently, I was sure she wasn’t a frivolous person with no self-respect.’

’How could she voluntarily go to Felix Preston’s room and start taking her clothes off in front of him?’

"Has Renee Sinclair lost her mind?" That was the only possibility he could come up with.

Jasper Linden shouted at the top of his lungs, "Renee Sinclair, are you okay? Are you out of your mind?"

Inside the room, Renee Sinclair shuddered. Her vacant gaze began to clear at a visible rate.

Mason Shaw said, "She’s not even answering. Her mental problems must be pretty serious!"

"...W-what mental problems?" Renee Sinclair had just regained her senses when she heard Mason Shaw’s words.

Mason Shaw replied, "The mental kind! The kind in your head, obviously!"

"Huh?" Renee Sinclair frowned in confusion. A cold gust of wind blew into the room, making her feel chilly. She instinctively looked down and saw that her upper body was clad in nothing but a bra.

"...AAAAAAAAAH!!!"

A belated, bloodcurdling scream tore from her throat. She frantically grabbed the down jacket and wrapped it tightly around her exposed body.

She didn’t know what had happened. All she could feel was the blood draining from her face, bit by bit. It felt as if her very heartbeat and body heat were slowly fading into nothingness.
