Chapter 247: Chapter 250: We’re Made for Each Other

"I’m not looking." Charlotte Shaw shut her eyes.

Willow Quincy walked over to her and sat down on the edge of the bed, right beside her.

"...Sonia." He looked at Charlotte’s tightly shut eyes and called her name, a hint of helplessness in his voice.

"..." Charlotte Shaw couldn’t be bothered to acknowledge him.

"Sigh..." He let out a low sigh and gently reached out to touch Charlotte’s closed eyelids.

"Get lost!" Charlotte Shaw violently slapped his hand away. With a kick of her legs under the covers, she shot across the large bed to the other side, putting a chasm-like distance between herself and Willow Quincy.

"Heh..." Her reaction made Willow Quincy chuckle, the coldness in his eyes instantly replaced by a bright warmth.

"Why are you acting like a child?"

"..." Charlotte Shaw still refused to acknowledge him.

She wrapped herself tightly in the blankets, balling up into a puffy, pouting bundle. The more Willow Quincy looked at her, the more he adored her, finding her increasingly cute.

"Alright, I’ll stop teasing you. Come here, I have something good to show you."

"Not. Looking!" Charlotte Shaw repeated the same two words.

As if he hadn’t heard her, Willow Quincy pulled a passport from his coat. Facing Charlotte’s back, he said, "Sonia, your passport is ready."

"...Passport?" Under the blankets, Charlotte’s eyes snapped open.

"Yes, a passport." Willow Quincy’s voice was filled with delight. "I got the passport I applied for on your behalf. With this, you can leave the country with me."

"..."

"Willow Quincy." After a few seconds of silence, Charlotte suddenly threw off the covers and sat up. "Let me tell you one last time: I will absolutely not go with you. Not in this country, not abroad. I’m not going anywhere."

"Either you let me go, or you can keep me locked up like this for the rest of my life."

"Now that we have the passport, the visa will be quick." Willow Quincy’s smile didn’t waver as he continued, "A visa for Nordheim is easy to get. It should only take about half a month. Sonia, you’ll only have to put up with this for thirteen more days, at most. After that, we can leave this place and go to Nordheim, the place you’ve always wanted to visit, to see the aurora you’ve longed to see for so many years."

"Willow Quincy!" Charlotte’s brow furrowed, and her voice suddenly rose. "Stop making plans! I’m not going with you!"

Her resistance and disgust were as sharp as thorns, but Willow Quincy seemed completely unaffected, the smile never leaving his face as he kept talking.

"Sonia, the pace of life in Nordheim is slow, but because it’s so far north, it has periods of polar day and polar night every year. You might not be used to it at first, but you’ll be fine after a while. I’ll be with you the whole time."

"I don’t need you with me!"

Charlotte Shaw clenched her fists, her voice growing hoarse from shouting. "Willow Quincy, I’m not going with you, and I don’t want you with me! I want to go back to the Shaw Family! I want to find Felix Preston and my son!"

Willow Quincy was still smiling, but the expression had become somewhat twisted. "Sonia, we’ll have a son of our own, too."

"You’re disgusting!" Charlotte Shaw grabbed the pillow next to her and hurled it at Willow Quincy with all her might.

Willow Quincy could have dodged, but he didn’t. He just stood there and took the hit from the pillow.

Charlotte Shaw glared at him with pure hatred, her eyes turning red and her lips trembling.

"Willow Quincy, snap out of it! I could never love you, I could never go abroad with you, and I will absolutely never have a child with you!"

"My heart is small. There’s only room for one person, and that’s Felix Preston. I love Felix Preston. I will only ever love him in this life. Even if you lock me up forever and I never see him again until the day I die, he’s the only one I will ever love!"

"...Then what about me?"

Willow Quincy’s smile finally crumbled. The corners of his mouth, once upturned, slowly straightened, and the gentle amusement in his eyes was replaced by wild jealousy.

"Sonia, if you love Felix Preston, then what am I supposed to do?"

"Do whatever you want." Charlotte’s reply was completely indifferent. "Willow Quincy, your problems are not my concern. You don’t need to ask me."

"’Not my concern?’" Those three words, spoken so lightly, stabbed Willow Quincy’s heart with excruciating pain.

Charlotte Shaw was always like this, always using the simplest words to wound him to the core.

And yet, Willow Quincy loved her for her cruelty.

"Sonia." Willow Quincy gazed at her, his voice taking on a low, pleading tone. "Of course it has to do with me. Have you forgotten? I’m your brother."

"Hmph," Charlotte Shaw sneered. "You still remember you’re my brother?"

Willow Quincy: "Of course I remember. I’m your brother, and you’re the sister I personally chose. You were born to be mine! We’re a perfect match, and no one can ever tear us apart!"

"...You’re truly insane." Charlotte Shaw couldn’t understand him at all.

He broke into a crazed grin, his eyes glittering with undisguised madness as he looked at Charlotte. "Sonia, I’m not insane. I’m perfectly lucid. I know what I’m saying, and I know what I’m doing."

Charlotte Shaw looked at him with a complicated expression, saying nothing.

Willow Quincy frowned, his gaze pained. "Sonia, don’t look at me like that. I’ve become this way... shouldn’t you be happy?"

"..." Charlotte Shaw didn’t know how to answer, nor did she want to.

Willow Quincy got up from the edge of the bed and knelt on it.

"You used to always complain about me. You complained that I was too cold to you, too harsh with you, and that I never let you get close. I couldn’t explain my reasons back then, so I could only endure your complaints helplessly, unable to do a thing."

With every sentence, he shuffled forward on his knees. "Now, I’ve finally resolved everything that was holding me back. I can love you and cherish you without any reservations. So why aren’t you happy?"

Just as he finished speaking, he was kneeling directly in front of Charlotte.

He was tall and well-built; even after so long in a hospital bed, he hadn’t lost much weight. He knelt before her, his legs spread in a domineering, imposing posture. His broad, towering frame completely enveloped her, leaving her with no way to escape.

Charlotte Shaw looked up at him, feeling as if the small space was sealed off by his presence, the very air growing thin.

"Sonia." Willow Quincy gazed at her with infatuation, a wronged look on his face. "I don’t have any secrets holding me back anymore. I can love you and be close to you freely now. Why can’t you just be a little happy?"

"..."

Charlotte Shaw shrank back. ’His current state is terrifying,’ she thought.

He didn’t voice his resentment, but his darkening expression and the oppressive atmosphere plummeting around him exposed the violent emotions simmering within.

Her intuition screamed at her that she couldn’t stay in this room any longer.

Without a sound, she scrambled out of bed and made a dash for the door.

Willow Quincy had anticipated her move. Before her feet even touched the floor, he shot out a hand and seized her shoulder. Then, with a deceptively gentle motion, he dragged her back and pinned her beneath him.
