Du Liya and Beidou’s wedding was a grand affair, with many guests in attendance.

Relatives from the Du family were there as well. Besides Zheng Duo and Zheng Zhuli, whom Qin Jiao had met before, Mr. Du’s younger sister, Du Anni, had also come.

Du Anni was in her sixties but looked much younger. She took good care of herself and was a sharp dresser, making her look like a high-society woman in her forties or fifties.

Looking at the grandaunt, and then at Du Liya, Qin Jiao remarked with a sigh, "The women in your family are all so impressive."

"You’re one of our family’s women, too," Shen Yi immediately corrected.

Qin Jiao said with a faint smile, "I mean they all manage to be doted on by younger men."

He quickly said, "Jiao Jiao, don’t start disliking me. I’m still plenty young, only twenty!"

"Mm, you are pretty young. I won’t start disliking you." Qin Jiao thought for a moment, then added, "At least, not right now."

’He decided that once this was all over and they were back home, he would start working out seriously. And he’d start a skincare routine right away. He absolutely could not let himself get wrinkles!’

Soon, the ceremony began. It was an outdoor wedding, much like the Western-style ceremonies Qin Jiao was familiar with. Since Mr. Du wasn’t in good health, the role of the father of the bride was changed to that of the bride’s brother, with Zheng Duo standing in.

The bride walked to the groom. After exchanging rings, the two embraced and kissed. Then, when it came time for the bouquet toss, it landed right in Qin Jiao’s arms.

The people around them applauded good-naturedly. Qin Jiao looked up at the stage to see Du Liya smiling at her. In that moment, her own heart felt full of happiness.

Shen Yi stuck close to Qin Jiao’s side, pointing out which dishes were delicious and which wines she shouldn’t drink too much of.

Not far away, Du Anni took Du Liya’s hand and said, "I used to watch you chasing after that man, and it broke my heart and made me angry at the same time. But things are better now.
