Qin Jiao and the others were right. Worried he’d have to pay back the seven thousand yuan, Qin Jiqun had indeed planned to return to his hometown.

He figured, ’That girl Qin Jiao can’t possibly chase me all the way back to my hometown for the money, can she?’

Qin Jiqun looked up at the sky. Figuring he had money anyway, he took his son to the nicest guesthouse in town. Of course, he didn’t forget to treat them to a big meal, too.

The next day, having still not found his brother, the pair went on a shopping spree in Ping’an Town before finally heading back to Three Families Village.

Meanwhile, Qin Jiao had no classes that afternoon. She wanted to see if Ji Changxing was at the clothing factory so she could learn some self-defense from him, so she headed over.

As soon as she arrived, Du Liya pulled her aside and whispered, "Your aunt and uncle are fighting, and your parents aren’t around. Why don’t you go and try to talk to them?"

Although they were all relatives, Du Liya was technically Qin Jiao’s mother-in-law, so it wasn’t really her place to get involved in Qin Na and Sun Jianhua’s affairs.

And as it happened, Su Yun and Qin Zhonghui weren’t around either.

Qin Jiao nodded and headed over immediately.

Qin Na’s first husband had been abusive. Combined with the way she was raised, her personality had always been quite timid.

In all the time she’d been married to Sun Jianhua, the two had never so much as raised their voices at each other. This was the first Qin Jiao had ever heard of them fighting.

Although Qin Jiao knew Sun Jianhua was a decent man, she was still worried her aunt would get the short end of the stick. But when she rushed over, she found they hadn’t come to blows. In fact, the argument was entirely one-sided.

With her eyes red, Qin Na said, "Haven’t I told you what my third brother is like? He’s the type who’s gluttonous and lazy! No matter what, you shouldn’t have given him all our grocery money!"
