Why is he looking at me like that?
She thought as she fixed her clothes and sandals on her. She was quickly amazed at how they fit perfectly on her, and couldn’t help but praise them for their service. The hospital where she had stayed always got her sizes wrong.
Caius’s frown deepened, and he crossed his arms as he began to ponder on what could be happening to his little bunny.
Was he thinking of a way to get rid of the child and me?
Caius choked on his own spit.
He glared at her and almost hissed at her, but he held his own tongue. How could she think that way? Was he that monstrous to her? Didn’t she say he looked attractive to her? So why was she still thinking he could do such a thing to her?
His thoughts ran wild.
Rue just sat there fiddling with her dress as she stared at Caius. Confused about why his expression kept changing, and then something clicked in her head.
You should be running away, Rue.
"Can you take me back to the bunny tribe?" Rue asked, as she bit down on her bottom lip, afraid of what his answer might be. She might have enjoyed their time, but she didn’t want to rely on him. frёeweɓηovel.coɱ
Everyone she had ever relied on had always left her at the end of the day.
And besides, this was fully transactional; she had gotten pregnant for him, and she was only meant to give birth.
Caius didn’t like the sound of that; his eyes narrowed at her as he crossed his arms. Rue tilted her head, confused. Why does he look angry?
"I am not letting you leave." He declared, and Rue shuddered. Her eyes went cold as she stared back at him.
He got closer to her, tipped her chin up and looked directly into her eyes.
"Firstly, you invaded my home, wrapped my mind with your scent, got my child, and you think you can run away?" She sucked in a sharp breath as his eyes flickered to ruby red, his fingers traced her nape, that were littered with bite marks, and he chuckled.
"You are mine, Little Bunny. I think it’s too late for me to let you go." He then traced her lips with his claws, and she gulped. "Is that understood, pretty little female?"
Her eyes narrowed, "Then you will have to take care of me."
I mean, what do I have to lose? I can’t die even if I want to; I might as well play with this life to my heart’s content.
Caius furrowed his brows, but he let her go, putting some distance between them. "I will go hunting for some food. You are not allowed to leave this place. Other snakes cannot come here, because it’s covered with my scent, if you step out." He pointed to her stomach.
"You and our child are beyond saving." The way he said it brought dread to her gut, and she swallowed.
Welp, one more burden to worry about.
"And don’t worry, I will be back as soon as possible." Then he grabbed a black fur coat and was about to slither out of his cave.
He didn’t even apologise or talk about whether last night was good enough for him.
Was this what a one-night stand felt like?
Caius froze in place, his face blackened, leaving only a shade of pink on his cheeks, which was very strange because Caius never blushed.
This little bunny was driving him insane.
He turned to her, rubbing the back of his neck. "I am sorry for what happened yesterday. I shouldn’t have forced myself on you like that. I just wanted to help. And as for if I enjoyed it..."
He groaned, his eyes flickering between red and gold.
"Just looking at you makes it very hard to control all the beastly desires that I have been holding back since morning."
Rue didn’t know why, but she found her gaze drifting downward toward his seam, and she recoiled immediately, her face turning beet red.
This snake was absolutely crazy, saying something like that in broad daylight!
A chuckle fell out of his lips, and she snapped her head towards him, tossing him a highly offended glare, which couldn’t even scare a fly.
He raised his hand up in fake surrender and retreated backwards.
"I will return." And with that, he slithered out of the cave entrance, his coils dragging on the floor as he got farther and farther away. Rue didn’t even realise she was pressing her whole weight on her hands as she peeked at his retreating figure, until the end of his tail was out of view.
She then shivered as she crawled back, leaning against the wall.
Even his voice is a sin.
Can’t believe you went from dying on a hospital bed, to giving your first to a snake.
’System, let’s make a deal.’

She sat with that for exactly two seconds.
Then she facepalmed so hard. But sucked in a sharp breath before she continued. Her lips parted and closed, pondering on something. If I am not mistaken, there were perks to getting pregnant and mating with these beasts. Although it seemed painful at the start, I enjoyed everything.
And I want to know what else there is. All of it. To the absolute end of what this body can feel.
Then perhaps...
She stopped herself before she could sink into a delusion that would only destroy her heart further. She didn’t belong here. She was just here for this purpose; once it was done, perhaps death could finally take her away to the peace she had always craved.
