Chapter 5: Chapter 5. Leaving

Aiden followed the woman into the room.

When they arrived in the room, a very large blue orb could be seen resting on a handle in the room.

"Warrior ranks are divided in ascending order, into rank 1, rank 2, rank 3 and rank 4," the woman explained for formal reasons. "Each rank is divided into five levels: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Expert, and Legendary. For instance, for a rank 1 warrior, the levels are beginner rank 1, intermediate rank 1, advanced rank 1, Expert rank 1 and legendary rank 1."

Aiden nodded. He was familiar with this power system.

"Just manifest your power, and launch an attack on the orb. It will quantify your power and determine your rank. As for your affinity, I can see it’s blood related," the woman said.

Aiden nodded.

"I need to use my strongest attack. I don’t know how powerful I am. The only way to be sure of the full extent of my strength is to launch my strongest attack."

His eyes turn crimson. He willed his blood to appear before him. Several blobs of blood congregated across the place. The blobs of blood seamlessly transformed into a medium sized arrow. The medium sized arrow seemed more solid and well compacted, compared to Aiden’s previous blood formed attack.

The woman’s eyes flashed with a glint. Even she noticed it.

Under Aiden’s will, the medium sized crimson arrow shot towards the blue orb.

The medium sized crimson arrow crushed into the blue orb. But the blue orb held.

The woman was not shocked. Only legendary rank 4 warriors could crush the orb.

Aiden’s medium sized crimson arrow returned to him. The medium sized crimson arrow transformed into blobs of blood and returned into Aiden.

The woman stared at a large super computer connected to the blue orb.

It was calculating something.

Aiden and the woman stared at the screens.

[Estimated power of Warrior Aiden Vhorn.

Beginner Rank 1 warrior.

Certainty of estimation: 99%]

The woman nodded. Not shocked. All newly awakened warriors were usually beginner rank 1 warriors. She typed something in addition to what had already been confirmed.

[Estimated affinity: Blood]

After that, someone wearing a suit entered the room after the woman made a call.

The person handed over a card to Aiden respectfully and left.

"Sir Vhorn, this is your warrior’s card. You’ll be using it in the future for warrior related transactions. Also, your details are now registered in the Global Warriors Association Database. When you are enrolling in a Warrior’s university tomorrow, they will scan the card and use it to confirm if your details are really registered with Global Warriors Association as a warrior before you are allowed to enrol. Please, do your best to keep it safe."

"Also, a deposit of 10,000 dollars has been sent into your account with immediate effect as your weekly warrior’s alliance."

Even for someone who did not come from a very humble background, Aiden was surprised.

10,000 dollars every week was not a small amount of money. Warriors really lived in a different world.

The woman, oblivious to his thoughts, continued.

"As you come to the warrior’s association to update your ranks in the future, your weekly warrior’s allowance will increase. Kindly note too, that you can sell the body parts and energy core of chaotic beasts you kill for cash. These energy cores and body parts can aid in crafting of medicines and weapons. However, don’t try to venture into danger zones or gate controlled areas until you enrol into a warrior’s university. Not only will you not be allowed access to such areas, you’ll be fined a huge sum of money." The woman was very emphatic with her last point.

A lot of newbie warriors thought the world revolved around them and kept making this mistake.

Aiden nodded quietly.

"Alright. Where can I sell the energy cores and body parts of chaotic beasts I kill," Aiden asked.

He needed money to afford his basic needs. He did not want to rely on anything from his parents anymore.

He needed his independence. That meant he had to get his own place from now.

From the Warrior’s Association, he was planning on heading straight to a real estate broker to hire an apartment for himself. As for his parents, he would only send them a message that he was now a warrior and he had moved out. At least, they deserved to know that. He had to be mature. But he would only let them know that after he enrolled in a warrior’s university tomorrow.

He did not hate them. This was why he wanted to take this quiet approach and relinquish their control over his life.

"We have a trade hub in the Warriors Association branch in the district," the woman said.

Aiden replied, "Thank you."

The woman led him out of the room. Aiden walked out of the building.

Aiden sat on a bench by the sidewalk.

"I need to decide which Warrior University I want to enroll in, so that I can figure out where to get an apartment. After all, I should get an apartment close to the particular warrior University. I should leave Fulco City. Might as well enrol in Derulo City University then," Aiden thought.

He was walking to the train station. It was not too far from where he was, so there was no need to take a cab. Just a few walks and he would arrive.

Aiden’s eyes however, narrowed.

Someone had been following him.

His parents sent them.

A beginner rank 1 warrior.

"Seriously... what am I now, a criminal being tailed?, I’m sure this is not the first this has happened. I just haven’t realized it before" I Aiden thought.

Previously, he was a normal person, so his senses were not heightened enough for him to pick up the signal if someone were to follow him.

But now, he realized it.

"Do they want to control the air I breathe or something?" He was marvelled. He shook his head.

Aiden stepped into an alleyway intentionally.

The person following him made a call.

He did not know Aiden was different now. He thought Aiden was still a normal person. So, he thought from how he was speaking, Aiden would not hear him.

"Sir," the person speaking on the phone said, "the young sir is headed towards a train station."

The voice on the other end of the phone was quiet for a while.

Aiden heard his father, William’s voice on the other end of the phone with his heightened hearing.

"Sigh... is he trying to run away or something? Teenagers... restrain him and bring him home. He’s leaving for the International Business Institute tomorrow."

Aiden shook his head from the alley.

"It seems the guy following me did not notice me coming out of the Warriors Association Building. That means he only started following me from when I started heading towards the train station. Did he actually tell the guy to restrain me, like I’m some sort of criminal?"

The fellow appeared in the alley.

There was no one there.

Then, a hand landed on his neck. A single strike.

He fell down. Unconscious.

"Seriously, I’ve changed my mind. They are not even getting a message from me." Aiden shook his head.

He left the alley, headed to the train station, and hopped on a bullet train headed towards Derulo City.
