Chapter 4: Chapter 4. Making plans

When Aiden stepped out of the cave, he decided to make some plans.

He sat at the edge of the cliff, in thought.

Aiden mused "I grow stronger by absorbing the blood essence of those who are dead, and I do not make use of worldly natural energy to grow stronger, since I’m not a warrior in a traditional context. That does not change the fact that I can measure my strength by still deciding to use the power system of warriors to quantify my strength. Also, since I’m 19 now, everyone is free to assume I’m a warrior who suddenly awakened as a rare case after crossing the biological awakening window, age 17 and 18.

Aiden thought "Warrior Universities are opening admissions tomorrow. I should make preparations. Fortunately, they don’t have any entrance exams. It’s more of mandatory for beginner rank 1 warriors to join. But I need to register with the Global Warriors Association branch in the Hervora District of Fulco City as a warrior before I can join a Warrior University. With my unique way of growing stronger, I won’t need the cultivation resources of these universities.

What I will need is access to the danger zones, and gates. Only those who belong to warrior universities and those who have graduated from warrior universities can have access to these danger zones and gates. These Global Academic Federation people and Global Warriors Association people have cooperated to structure the system this way to ensure that every warrior has to go through the system of training, and would not charge recklessly into danger zones and gates. After graduating from a university after becoming a legendary rank 2 warrior, one has to serve in the military of one’s empire at the Frontlines to fight against chaotic beasts across the uncharted lands for two years.

After that, one can either decide to work with the military, become a freelance awakener, join a guild/ create one, or become an academician.

I should decide on what to do. Hmmm.. since I grow stronger by absorbing the blood essence of dead creatures, an environment of war will best suit me. After serving two years in the military, I will work with the military. I will make use of the Eldorath Empire Military Frontlines environment to grow stronger, until better opportunities present themselves. This should be enough of a plan for now"

Aiden stood up, and turned around to leave.

Southern Continent

Eldorath Empire.

Fulco City.

Hervora District.

Global Warriors Association Branch in the District.

Several individuals walked in and out of a Skyscraper.

" Did you hear, a very renowned artifact engineer is having an auction at the Artifact engineer association branch in the district"

" What? I really wish I could become an artifact engineer. Unfortunately, I don’t have the requirements. Unless one is at least a legendary rank 2 warrior they can’t become an artifact engineer, because of the large use of worldly natural energy to craft weapons"

" You could consider becoming an alchemist?"

" Well, I don’t have the brains required for that. Becoming an alchemist requires one is very well versed in medicines. I didn’t do well in school, you know"

" Tsk... I really envy those who belong to the Global Artifact Engineers Association and the Global Alchemists Association, these fellows make a lot of money. And the connections they have, is something one cannot even fathom"

A tall young man with lean athletic build, brown hair and dark eyes bypassed the group of people having various conversations across the place and entered the skyscraper.

This young man was naturally Aiden Vhorn.

When he entered the building, the place was very quiet.

He proceeded towards a front desk where a female secretary was seated.

The female secretary greeted him politely.

" Good day sir, what can I do for you?"

Aiden replied politely "I’m here to register myself as a warrior please, a newly awakened warrior"

"Your name sir?" The woman asked.

" Aiden Vhorn please," Aiden replied.

The woman nodded. Several typing sounds were made on the keyboard as she keyed in his name.

" She wants to see if I have crossed the biological awakening window" Aiden mused.

" Sir... it says here that you are 19, that means you’ve crossed the awakening window" The woman sighed.

There were cases like this. Some people were so desperate to become warriors that they began to have grandiose delusions.

This was the third case she had dealt with today.

If this man proved difficult, she would call security to drag him out of the building. She had a date this evening. She didn’t want to meet her date in a bad mood.

A glint flashed through Aiden’s eyes.

Aiden didn’t say a word.

He simply willed his own blood to appear before him.

His eyes assumed a crimson light, and faint crimson hues congregated across, turning into several blobs of blood. The blobs of blood turned into small crimson needles.

" Is this enough to prove what I’m saying?" Aiden said calmly.

The woman was shocked.

How was this possible?

Had he not crossed the awakening window?

So what was she seeing?

Then, a thought occurred to her.

"Since time immemorial, for as long as we can recall, Endra has always been a world where some people naturally awaken to become warriors at age 17 and 18" She thought " This has come to be known as the biological awakening window. It does not make any sense for this guy to awaken at nineteen. But... I suppose there’s a first time for everything. The world is full of strange things I suppose. Let’s just treat it as a normal awakening and have him go through the registration"

" Sir" She stood up.

" Although it’s been confirmed that you’ve become a warrior, we need to confirm your specific rank. Kindly follow me to this room for that procedure"

She had accepted that he was a warrior now.

Aiden nodded politely " Sure"

By his will, the tiny blood needles diffused into blood droplets and returned into his being.

His eyes resumed their normal black color.

He followed the woman into the room.
