Chapter 45: Chapter 45.Insurance

The arena was still silent.

No one was saying anything.

All eyes fell on one person.

Aiden Vhorn.

He was calm. Seated. Eyes now back to their black color.

He looked civil. What made him stand out was his good looks. Apart from that, he would look like an ordinary person.

No one who didn’t know him would even associate the civil looking, calm person seated on a bleacher, with the puzzling display of violence and carnage that just occurred a few moments ago.

And that was what made this first year student terrifying.

Aiden’s teammates for the upcoming pocket world mission, could not help but be extremely shocked.

No, they were actually terrified of him.

The second years were terrified of him.

From thinking he could die in the fight, to shock at what he pulled off, to terror.

Even Asmodeus, who had presumed Aiden could win because of Desmonda’s earlier expression, was shocked.

The level of combat adaptability and prowess Aiden had demonstrated was not something someone who became a warrior just a few weeks ago could have. Even if he had been training from his womb, this was unheard of.

The only way to explain this was that Aiden Vhorn was gifted. He was an extremely fast and adaptable learner. He was a combat genius.

Asmodeus remembered being called a combat genius in Harland City, even before he became a warrior.

But compared to Aiden Vhorn, he did not even know what to call himself.

He was not one to focus on comparing himself to others. Neither did he compare himself to Aiden Vhorn. He just felt very humbled after seeing what Aiden Vhorn had pulled off.

"I need to duel with him," he thought. "Some friendly spars with him will help me hone myself."

He thought.

"As I expected. It looks like he still held back a bit," Desmonda thought.

"I need to duel with this guy," she thought. "He’s too terrifying. If I have some friendly spars with him, I could increase my combat prowess. But I can’t just rush at him. I will let things progress naturally. Perhaps, when we enter the pocket world, I could become more familiar with him."

Treehill and Hourglass could not help but sigh at the same time.

As they had expected. Aiden Vhorn had slaughtered their key society members.

Those left were weaklings.

He had crippled their fighting force. Surgically. As if he had gotten rid of a tumor section.

If they did not get rid of him after he left campus on a mission, he would become too powerful and kill them in the future.

They did not want to take any more chances.

The other societies that had stayed out of his way, after he rejected their offers, felt relieved.

They had made the right choices by not acting against him.

Of course, these societies were all headed by advanced rank 1 warriors, with most members as intermediate rank 1 warriors and beginner rank 1 warriors.

There were societies headed by expert and legendary rank 1 warriors too, with most members at the advanced and intermediate rank 1 level.

There were also societies headed by rank 2 warriors.

All the societies were having different thoughts about Aiden Vhorn at the moment.

Some were thinking of trying to recruit him in the future. These ones wanted to study him for a while and see how he handles TreeHill and Hourglass first.

Others wanted to completely stay out of his way without making any moves on him. It was their safest course of action.

Others also wanted to get rid of him without even considering asking him to join their societies.

The university was a place where people competed for resources.

If he was allowed to climb the Heavenly Ascension ranking list, what would happen?

There was no way they’d let that happen.

Aiden was not oblivious to these developments.

These were the most obvious reactions to what had just happened.

"Since they want to deliver their blood essences I won’t reject their offers," he thought, as he started making certain plans.

In the Instructors region of the bleachers, silence had fallen over the place.

These men and women, majority of them had graduated from various universities across the empire. They had completed their two years of military training. After that, they chose a career to become academicians.

They all had to admit that they had encountered a number of geniuses. Some of whom had gone on to become people they could only look up to.

But this was the first time they were encountering someone like Aiden Vhorn.

And if nothing bad happened to him, they had a feeling he would become someone terrifying in the future.

"I don’t think something like that is too far away," Pamela thought. "Considering his growth speed."

"To think he’d be this terrifying," Cosmo thought.

He had expected Aiden Vhorn to be a genius. But he did not expect this kind of terrifying display of talent.

Eventually, the silence ceased.

Several bots cleared the fighting platform full of carnage.

Then, the duels continued.

But no one was even in the mood to watch anymore.

Occasionally, several glances would be shot towards Aiden, who was in thought.

Some would look at him in fear. Others looked at him with puzzlement. Others were disgusted. They didn’t like his way of handling things.

Aiden was too focused on himself to think about what others thought of him.

"My current rank on the Heavenly Ascension ranking list is 6100," Aiden thought.

"I have 40,000 contribution points now, after the death duel. I need to get some expert rank 1 poisons and invisibility bracelets for unforeseen circumstances. Pity I can’t afford legendary rank 1 poisons and invisibility bracelets for now.

It will be naive to think that only Treehill and Hourglass would want to kill me now. The university is a place of competition for resources. As much as some people will stay out of my way, some will think I’m in their way and will try to quietly get rid of me. These ones will most likely send at most expert rank 1 assassins after me. It’s not like they look down on me, it’s the logical thing to do. In their opinion, expert rank 1 warriors can handle me, why send advanced rank 1 warriors.

All the more reasons why having some insurance won’t be a bad thing in case of such emergencies."

Aiden ordered some expert rank 1 poisons and invisibility bracelets.

He booked the order to arrive at his villa at 3:30 pm.

Eventually, the combat assessment came to an end.

Aiden left as soon as possible.

It was time to prepare for the gate mission with Desmonda, Asmodeus and the others.

Little did he know that he was all over social media.
