Chapter 28: Chapter 28. Hale Town

Aiden entered the gravity chamber.

There were several large rooms in this gravity chamber. Each compartment could fit the size of a living room.

He entered one of the compartments. However, the gravity was turned off. There was only one way to turn it on.

He tapped his watch. A holographic screen appeared.

He identified a notification.

[ Would you like to make payment for gravity chamber 112, room 3, first floor of training hall 1?.

Price: 1000 contribution points.

Time limit: 3 hours.

Yes/No]

Aiden tapped on the yes option.

He made the payment.

Another holographic screen appeared.

[ Options available.

x5 gravity, x10 gravity, x15 gravity]

Aiden chose the ×5 gravity.

The moment he chose the x5 gravity, a heavy weight descended on the room.

Aiden felt like he was being crushed to the ground.

"Will take some time to get used to this."

He gritted his teeth and sat down.

The weight bore on him heavily. It was as if it wanted to pin him to the ground.

Aiden manifested blobs of blood before him.

The blobs of blood surrounded his body and formed a crimson armor and enveloped his figure from head to toe. Only his face was not covered.

Aiden was really ruthless with himself.

Because of the crimson armor, his weight increased, and the gravity became more intense.

He remained seated with a calm expression on his face. But, it was a very excruciating feeling.

After one hour, Aiden felt the gravity was not so overbearing.

He stood up. He formed a crimson hammer with his blood and started exchanging moves.

His moves were sluggish at first because of the gravity acting on him. But they grew less sluggish and became more refined with time. Beads of sweat tickled down Aiden’s face.

After thirty minutes, the crimson hammer liquified into blood and transformed into a sword.

Growing up Aiden’s life had been full of sheltered and controlled gruesome times spent with combat instructors.

Aiden was therefore familiar with the use of a variety of weapons.

Aiden kept practicing with the sword. His movements were growing more refined and dexterous compared to previously. Although the gravity still acted on him, he was getting used to it.

After another thirty minutes, the crimson sword transformed into two daggers.

Aiden danced across the gravity room with swift grace. The gravity acting on him did not seem so unbearable. Aiden switched from one weapon to another during his practice.

Crimson bladed chains. Halberd. Staff. Polearm.

If anyone saw Aiden practicing in the gravity room, they would be very surprised. Aiden’s ability to adapt was extreme terrifying.

Eventually, his time was up.

The crimson polearm transformed into blobs of blood and disappeared into him.

"I should try to finish the 15 times gravity before I make use of the gravity tower in the VR space," Aiden decided. By the time he would have finished the times 15 gravity, he would have enough contribution points to make use of the VR space. If he had more than enough contribution points, he could even combine the use of the VR space and the gravity chamber for training.

"Time to leave." The crimson armor turned into blobs of blood and disappeared into Aiden.

"I need a shower before I head out for a mission. And I’m starving." Aiden left the gravity chamber.

News of Aiden Vhorn’s altercation with the third strongest first-year student, Vultor Han and his lackey, spread across the first-year students.

Many people who were eyewitnesses to the event even took videos of it and posted it on forums of the first-year students.

Vultor Han had lost all face.

A couple of people who were also eyewitnesses to the event where Aiden Vhorn beat up the late Steve Vorisa also started spreading it in the comment session that Aiden Vhorn really beat up Steve Vorisa to the point where Steve Vorisa shit on himself.

This cemented the fact that Aiden Vhorn was most likely the strongest first-year student at the moment.

Inasmuch as he was ranked very low on the Heavenly Ascension ranking list, many realized that he was a low-key person whose strength could not be judged with the Heavenly Ascension Ranking list.

It was either he was as strong as Asmodeus Vincent or he was stronger than Vincent.

Many first years were looking forward to the upcoming combat monthly evaluations.

Hearing about something was one thing, and seeing it for yourself was another after all.

After Aiden returned to his villa, he showered, made some noodles, ate and relaxed for a few hours by playing some games.

After that, he decided to choose his next mission.

Aiden decided to choose a high-difficulty mission.

After scrolling through the list of long missions, he came across one mission that caught his attention.

[ Mission description:

A group of criminals has been launching assaults on Hale Town. These criminals have been kidnapping women and children for human trafficking.

However, the police unit of Hale Town are too powerless to do anything to them.

Task: Eliminate these criminals within 3 days.

Mission difficulty level: High

Reward: 4000 contribution points]

"These criminals will definitely not be weak. Their blood essence will be very helpful. Also, the contribution points attached are quite the sum. I can use it to access the gravity chambers and the VR tower on campus, and even have some left."

Aiden made preparations.

After changing into a hooded long coat, jeans and some sneakers, he headed out of campus.

He took a cab.

As he was seated in the cab, he was in thought.

"Hale town is located a few drives outside the eastern district of Derulo City. I need to be covert when I arrive in town. I should study the situation well before I make any moves. The mission looks simple on the surface, but there could be more to it than meets the eye. Rushing into action the moment I arrive could cost me my life."

For the rest of the journey, the drive was silent and peaceful.

The cab went through the eastern district of Derulo City, drove for a few kilometers, and passed a forest.

They passed a sign that stated Hale Town ahead.

Eventually, the fenced forests lining the roads grew thinner. Several houses came into view.

The cab pulled to a stop in front of a bar.

Aiden paid the driver, and stepped out of the cab.

The cab drove off.

He had arrived in Hale Town.
