Chapter 22: Chapter 22. Putting the plan in motion
Derulo City University.
Mission Hall.
The place was bustling with chatter and activity.
Several student warriors stood before various booths. Various staff members were seated at the other end of the booths.
A handsome tall lean fellow with brown hair and dark eyes stood in one of these booths.
"Kindly point your storage bag towards this device," the staff member said after confirming from the missions database the mission Aiden had taken on.
Aiden nodded.
He pointed his storage bag towards a floating scanner.
The device scanned the contents in Aiden’s storage bag.
A hologram of the 60 corpses of the beginner rank 1 flame Berserker Buffalos appeared.
"Are you a second year student?" The staff member was quite surprised. Not only did this fellow take on this mission alone, he actually overcompleted the mission.
The only explanation was that he was a second year student who was more experienced as a warrior.
"Even if he were supposed to be a second year student, a mission like this requires a group of people to join hands. Usually, when they return, the contribution points are split equally between them. But to think he completed this mission alone."
"I’m a first year student, Instructor."
Aiden’s reply snapped him out of his thoughts.
"What’s your name?"
"Aiden Vhorn," Aiden replied.
A glint of realisation flashed through the instructor’s eyes.
So it was him. The one all over the news.
This kid had become more powerful than when he came out of the gate. This was the only way to explain the outcome of his mission.
"Good job," the instructor said. "Additional 500 contribution points for the exceptional outcome of the mission. How’s that?"
"Looks like I don’t have to negotiate," Aiden thought.
"Sounds good to me," Aiden replied.
The instructor pointed towards a direction in the booth. A container was there.
It looked like a storage bag, but it was larger.
"Pour the bodies out into it."
Aiden nodded. He poured the sixty corpses out of his storage bag. The moment they came into contact with the large container, they shrunk into it.
"Technology is really advancing," Aiden thought.
The instructor tapped on a button.
Aiden’s watch buzzed. He tapped it twice.
A holographic screen appeared before him.
[ Congratulations on completing your mission.
You have obtained 1000 contribution points.
Additional 500 contribution points obtained for exceptional results.
Previous rank on the Heavenly Ascension ranking list : 35000/35000
Current rank: 34700]
Aiden nodded.
"I should return and start putting my plan into motion," he thought.
He nodded politely towards the instructor and left.
****
Aiden was currently seated in his living room in his villa.
"Is there any society that has some sort of conflict with the society Shawn is part of?" he thought. "I need to find a society with a very deep seated grudge with the society Shawn is part of. That way, they will be easy to manipulate," Aiden thought.
Aiden started reading discussions on campus forums.
There were various societies on campus. They naturally existed to foster connections between students. After all, a university was not only a place of study. It was also a place where people made lifelong connections.
Naturally, because these societies existed, there were also rivalries between societies. And some of these rivalries even graduated into deep seated conflicts.
This was the loophole Aiden wanted to exploit. He wanted to find the society Shawn belonged to, and find a society that had a deep seated conflict with them.
This was the first step.
Aiden gathered enough information on campus forums after reading extensively.
He closed the laptop.
"Azure Sky Society. That’s the society Shawn belongs to. They have a serious grudge with the Mystic Sea society. Apparently, the Mystic Sea Society sexually assaulted some ladies from the Azure Sky Society two years ago in a pocket world. However, there was no proof of their actions."
"The Mystic Sea society people also denied these allegations. Since there was no proof, the student council and the disciplinary committee could not do anything about it. However, there have been occasional skirmishes between the two societies. But, because of their similar levels of strength, no one has taken things too far.
Apparently, the girlfriend of the Azure Sky Society president was rumored to have been sexually assaulted by the president of the Mystic Sea Society."
"Let’s use this to escalate things into a full blown conflict. It seems Steven is also part of the Azure Sky Society. This will be easier than I thought."
Aiden opened his laptop again.
He sent an anonymous message to the email of the Azure Sky Society.
It was fun while it lasted. Also, fuck you all.
That was all. He did not add anything.
"The best approach to something like this is to make the message vague," Aiden thought. "The president of the Azure Sky Society already hates the president of the Mystic Sea Society. His hatred will fuel him to draw a conclusion on his own that the Mystic Sea Society president is behind this vague message, and is referring to the sexual assault incident in the pocket world two years ago. Since his girlfriend was a victim, he will act."
"Plus, the insult will incite the Azure Sky Society members to join their president to clash with the Mystic Sea Society people. The Mystic Sea Society people will most likely deny they were the ones behind this message. They will also think the Azure Sky Society people are trying to frame them. In anger they will also retaliate. This will definitely lead to a group death duel in the death arenas. Shawn and Steve will naturally be swept into it since they are members of the Azure Sky Society. Since the two societies are equally matched in strength, they will end up destroying each other, instead of one society overpowering the other. This should work."
If this plan worked, no one would suspect he was the one behind anything.
At worst, conflicts would occur outside the university between the backgrounds of the students from the two societies after they die in the death arenas. That would include the Vorisa Family. They would be too busy seeking revenge on others, for the death of Shawn and Steve that they won’t even think about Aiden anymore.
"Now, all I have to do is wait for results," Aiden thought. He closed the laptop, drank some milk, and entered the shower.
