Chapter 67: Chapter 67 System shop unlocked

Almost immediately, a loud, piercing sound rang through the air.

It was sharp, deliberate—unnatural.

The source of the noise had been thrown far into the distance, directed toward the road that led straight into the city. The moment the sound echoed across the area, the monsters reacted exactly as expected.

One by one... then all at once...

They began to move.

Like predators drawn by instinct, they abandoned the vicinity of Ivy’s bunker and rushed toward the source of the disturbance, their movements chaotic yet unified by a single purpose.

Within moments, the once-dangerous area surrounding Ivy’s base fell eerily quiet.

Ding!

{What next, Host?}

Ivy remained standing in the tower for a brief second longer, her sharp eyes scanning the now-empty battlefield to ensure there were no stragglers lurking nearby.

Only after confirming did she finally speak.

"Kindly retrieve my bolts," she instructed calmly, her tone steady and authoritative. "Also, collect the supplies in the truck... and the pickup truck itself."

She paused briefly, her gaze hardening slightly.

"And reinforce the entrance to the territory. That part is not optional—it’s necessary."

Ding!

{Right away, Boss.}

A brief silence followed before the system’s notifications began appearing one after another.

Ding!

{Arrows used in shooting at invaders... retrieved successfully.}

Ding!

{Supplies inside the truck have been collected successfully, including the contents of the trunk.}

Ding!

{Pickup truck secured and added to storage.}

A faint flicker of interest crossed Ivy’s eyes.

Ding!

{Do you wish to inspect the collected supplies now, Host? There appears to be a considerable quantity.}

Ivy shook her head slightly.

"I’ll check them later," she replied without hesitation. "Right now, I need to return to the base."

Her voice softened—just a little.

"My children are waiting."

Then, as if remembering something, her expression turned serious again.

"Don’t forget to reinforce the base entrance," she added firmly. "You can proceed whenever you’re ready. Just make sure it’s done properly."

Ding!

{Understood, Host. Reinforcement process will begin shortly.}

With that settled, Ivy finally turned away from the edge of the tower.

The wind brushed lightly against her as she made her way toward the stairs, her boots echoing faintly against the metal steps.

Step by step...

She began descending from her cross-bomb tower, leaving behind the aftermath of blood and chaos to meet her children.

When Ivy finally got downstairs, the atmosphere was completely different from the chaos outside.

Aria and Lila were fast asleep on the couch, their small bodies curled slightly toward each other. The faint glow of the television illuminated their faces, while the soft sounds of the cartoon they had been watching continued to play in the background.

Little Hope, on the other hand, lay peacefully in her cot, her tiny chest rising and falling in a steady rhythm.

For a moment...

Ivy simply stood there.

Watching them.

A soft smile slowly formed on her lips—one that rarely appeared on the battlefield.

She walked over quietly, careful not to wake them, and gently placed a kiss on Aria’s forehead... then Lila’s.

"My little warriors..." she whispered under her breath.

Her gaze then shifted to Hope.

Without hesitation, Ivy carefully lifted the baby from her cot, cradling her close. Hope stirred slightly but didn’t wake, her tiny fingers curling instinctively against Ivy’s clothes.

Ivy’s expression softened even further.

She carried her into the bedroom and gently laid her down on the bed, adjusting the blanket to keep her warm.

Only after making sure Hope was comfortable did Ivy straighten up.

Her eyes sharpened again.

"You can show me the supplies you gathered now," she said, her tone calm but laced with curiosity.

Ding!

{Right away, Host.}

In an instant, the air in front of her shimmered.

Then—

Supplies began to materialize.

One after another... and then in bulk.

Ten cartons of instant noodles stacked neatly.

Five large bags of rice.

Twenty packs of table water arranged in rows.

Containers of freshly fried meat, richly coated in pepper, the aroma still lingering as though they had just been prepared.

Cooked vegetables, sealed and preserved.

And then—

Gold.

A noticeable amount of it.

Ivy’s eyes widened slightly in surprise as she stepped forward, crouching down to inspect everything more closely.

"That’s... a lot," she murmured, almost impressed.

She began sorting through the items, her movements efficient but curious.

Then—

Her hand paused.

A police pistol.

Her gaze sharpened immediately as she picked it up, turning it slightly in her hand, inspecting its weight, its structure... its potential.

A faint glint of approval flashed in her eyes.

Without hesitation, she walked to the bedside drawer and placed it inside, locking it with a key.

But even as she did so, her expression turned thoughtful.

She knew her children were naturally curious.

Too curious.

"They’ll definitely go digging around sooner or later..." she muttered under her breath.

A locked drawer wouldn’t be enough.

Sooner or later, they would find a way to open it.

Which meant—

She would have to store it in the system afterward. freēwēbηovel.c૦m

For now, though, she wanted to finish going through the supplies.

Ding!

{Congratulations, Host. You are a true master.}

Ivy let out a soft chuckle, shaking her head slightly.

"Thank you," she replied. "But I wouldn’t have been able to do all that without you."

Her tone grew a little warmer.

"Thank you, Golden."

Ding!

{You’re welcome, Host.}

A brief pause followed before another notification appeared.

Ding!

{Host has been allocated 26 points.}

{System Shop Unlocked.}

Ivy’s brows lifted slightly.

"What kind of shop?" she asked, her curiosity instantly piqued.
