Chapter 10: Chapter 10 Farmhouse.
"Alright it’s time to go to bed." Ivy murmured under her breath, her hand rested on her stomach. "Why do I feel terribly hungry though? I just had dinner not quite long and now I’m hungry." She added with a frown and sad expression on her face.
Just then...she suddenly remembered something making her face lighten up instantly.
She had remembered keeping some sandwiches in the system this morning. She purposely didn’t keep it in her children lunch as she knew they were going to eat it.
Since she had gotten pregnant...she always kept small meals away in case she felt hungry again.
Without wasting much time...and since the system knew exactly what she was thinking about...it widened its interface, allowing Ivy to look through it, all while organizing her other supplies inside the system space, even though that was not why she was here tonight.
At some point, she pulled out a boxed meal containing the sandwich...the main reason why she had to check the system.
It would have gone cold by now. I’ll microwave it though. She thought Inwardly as she opened it only for steam to rise gently into the air.
Ivy froze.
Her fingers stiffened slightly as she stared at the food.
It was still hot.
Fresh.
As though it had just been cooked.
"...What?" she whispered under her breath.
Frowning, she quickly reached for another item....a chilled drink she had stored alongside it. The one she had bought that morning. ƒгeewebnovёl.com
The moment her fingers touched it, a faint chill spread across her skin.
Cold.
Perfectly cold.
Not room temperature.
Not slightly cool.
Exactly as it had been before she stored it.
Her heartbeat quickened.
A strange feeling crept up her spine.
Slowly... deliberately... Ivy began testing everything.
Cooked rice was still warm.
Meat dishes were fresh, tender, untouched by time.
Frozen shrimp remained solid.
Not even the slightest sign of thawing.
No smell, decay and no change.
All the other food were extracted alongside the properties from her ex-husband’s house. She had thought they would be used to gain cubic space but it turned out that was not the case.
Time...was not moving here.
Ivy’s eyes widened as the realization struck her like lightning.
"This means..." she whispered, her voice trembling slightly with excitement.
"I can store unlimited supplies... without worrying about preservation."
{Exactly host. As long as you keep expanding the space then you’re good to go.}
Her breathing grew uneven as her mind raced.
This wasn’t just useful.
This was...
Game-changing.
And with that...Ivy finally made her way inside all while munching on the sandwich, one of her hand supporting her back.

The next day, unable to bear leaving her daughters behind again, Ivy took them along.
She packed their breakfast, snacks, and water just like the day before, making sure everything was neatly arranged before they set out.
The car rolled to a stop in front of a quiet farmhouse not far from the underground shelter.
It looked... ordinary but the system had selected it.
A young man stepped out from the side of the building as soon as he noticed them.
"Good morning, ma’am," he greeted politely, his eyes briefly flicking toward the two children. "Are you here about the storage space?"
"Yes," Ivy replied calmly. "I called earlier."
"Ah, right," he said quickly, nodding. "You’re the one who wanted to rent immediately."
He hesitated for a second, then added carefully,
"You... didn’t even come to inspect the place first or are you here for that first?"
"I don’t need to inspect it," Ivy said, her tone steady. "As long as the structure is solid for what I need it for.."
The man smile widened.
"Well... that’s not a problem. It’s a private property. No one will disturb you."
"And the rent?" Ivy asked.
"Two hundred dollars per month," he replied.
Then, almost awkwardly, he added,
"And... you don’t need to pay any deposit."
Aria frowned slightly at that and tugged Ivy’s sleeve.
"Mommy... why is it so cheap?"
The young man laughed nervously.
"It’s just a storage place. Most people don’t really want it."
Ivy’s lips curved faintly.
"Perfect," she said. "Send me your account details please."
Without wasting much time...the man quickly forwarded it to Ivy, since they’d both chatted about the money, and almost immediately...
Ding!
A credit alert.
"Enjoy your space. I’ll be back in a month time again." The man voiced out with a light chuckle after which he walked out of the farmhouse leaving Ivy and her children standing.
"Are we going to be living here mama?" Lila raised an eyebrow with curiosity in her eyes.
"Oh no. This is just a place where mommy wants to store food so that we’ll never go hungry okay? Ivy replied with a warm smile and even though Aria and Lila didn’t really understand...they just nodded their heads in response.
---
Inside, the space was large, quiet... and empty.
To anyone else, it was just a temporary storage building.
But Ivy stood still for a moment, her gaze deepening.
This was enough.
---
The first truck arrived less than an hour later, but Ivy’s daughters had already gone inside the air raid shelter which was just a few minutes from the farm land.
They had complained of tiredness to Ivy that she had to drive them back home immediately and only left when they both said they were feeling better.
Ivy couldn’t afford to let anyone of them get sick. Not with the apocalypse coming.
"Delivery for Miss Ivy?" A driver soon called out.
"Yes, over here," Ivy replied, stepping forward.
The man looked at the building, then back at her.
"You ordered... all of this?" he asked, clearly surprised. "Are you starting a supermarket ma’am?"
"Yes I’m opening my own supermarket," Ivy answered smoothly.
"Huh," he muttered. "Alright ma’am."
And with that... other men began coming into the farmhouse carrying foods in hand.
Rice, instant noodles, Canned goods, Preserved meat etc.
Ready-to-eat meals since foods don’t get spoilt in the system.
Ivy ordered every foods she could think of and ordered everything.
She watched as different trucks kept coming in, all carrying her orders.
Once the drivers left...
Everything vanished as she absorbed it into her system
By evening...
Twenty thousand dollars...gone.
_____
Her phone rang.
Ivy glanced at the screen.
The bank.
She answered.
"Good morning, ma’am," a professional voice came through.
"We’ve noticed several large transactions from your account. We’d like to confirm—"
"I authorized all of them," Ivy interrupted calmly.
There was a pause.
"All of them, ma’am?"
"Yes."
Another pause.
"...Very well. Thank you for confirming."
The call ended.
---
Silence returned as Ivy stared at her phone.
Then at her remaining balance.
Her brows slowly drew together.
"At this rate..." she murmured,
"I’ll run out very soon."
Her gaze darkened.
If I want to continue... I need more money to keep buying goods but how?
The thoughts lingered.
