Chapter 94: Bonding (1)

Aurora sat in silence awaiting Vincent’s return ignoring the warm food turning cold. How determined was he to write and send the letter now instead of waiting till morning? There wasn’t much time to convince the man not to force his brother to have a party. All this was just for him to get her to go out and socialize. "I hope Victor rejects it," she muttered under her breath.

"You wounded me with this betrayal Aurora," Vincent said, returning to the room with a smile on his face. He took his seat back beside her. "The things I do for you."

"I don’t remember asking for this," she reminded the man. However, it was interesting to see how he carried himself with an attitude that he could do whatever he wanted. One word to his brother could Victor host a party he never wanted? Vincent was no doubt a king to the people here. How on earth did she end up as a guest to such a man? The events leading up to this only happened a few days ago but this was still unbelievable. "You must have many enemies."

Power and control came with others envying the position. That must be the reason he kept watch when they went out today.

"I do, which is why we have to be careful with how far out of my sight you are. My uncle and a few other family members detest that I am the one in this position. I have never liked them even when my parents were alive. Till this day I still cannot understand why my father still loved his young brother."

Vincent knew it was his uncle that had something to do with his parent’s death. Whether the man coordinated it with the vampires or left them behind when the war got worse, he had no idea. But all signs led to his uncle. There were a few other suspects he was watching but the memory of his uncle smiling at their funeral was hard to forget.

"Even when there was tension between the two, my father still looked out for my uncle but the man wasn’t thinking of family like my father was. With my father gone, it made sense his brother would be the one in charge but me being able to change into the alpha affected that. Family can turn on each quickly for something they desire," he said.

Aurora nodded in agreement. "Well, in my case, they weren’t technically my family."

"They treated you like family therefore you were their family. Blood doesn’t always define a family. Look at how the blood-related ones treat each other. That girl isn’t related to you by blood and look at what she did to her brother."

"Was there really a need for you to kick him back then? Do you perhaps have any information on what’s happening with the Hamiltons? Regina at least." Aurora had been itching for some sort of news on how Regina was doing. freёwebnovel.com

"The information I have is pretty pricey. What do you have to exchange for it?" Vincent smirked, tapping his cheek as a hint. One little kiss wouldn’t hurt in exchange for what he knew.

"Proof that you are a gentleman?"

Vincent wasn’t surprised this was brought up again. It was her one defense against him. "Well, I’ll drop the act and stop pretending to be a gentleman."

Aurora clicked her tongue now between a rock and a hard place. A kiss on the cheek was so simple but yet such a big deal for her. It’ll be the first kiss she ever gave to any one of the opposite sex.

"You’re so easy to tease. I don’t have any news on what’s happening inside the home but they still have men looking all over for you so leaving here isn’t an option at the moment. Only two people have left the home since this all happened. Nathaniel and Minnie Hamilton. They have the others on lockdown in case they can’t be trusted,’ said Vincent.

"I see. Is there any way you can get me the history of the Hamiltons? I wish to know more about their background," Aurora suddenly recalled the task she was given to learn the history of the Hamiltons. It must be important if a part of herself came out to say this. Why was this important she wanted to be answered right away?

Vincent raised his brow confused by the sudden request. "I have only been watching the Hamiltons from the time you went there. I will try my best to go way back into their history but we don’t keep too many tabs on human families unless they are royalty or a huge threat. Why do you want this information?" fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm

"It’s best I know as much about them as I can and I don’t think you’ll believe the exact reason why I’m requesting this." How familiar was he with having himself appear like a ghost in front of himself? He was a werewolf but this was something that might make him look at her like she was crazy.

"Try me." How strange could it be when she was sitting in front of a werewolf? He had seen many things in his life and doubted he wouldn’t believe what she said next.

"Okay. Remember the who thorns thing. After that all went away I saw another me standing in the doorway to the bathroom and Mari couldn’t see her well, me. I was told to find the history of the Hamiltons and my memory was returning so there was no need to worry about it." She carefully watched his expression to see if he believed her or not.

Vincent titled his head to the side trying to put together what was so hard to believe about that. "Stranger things have happened here. That’s one of the more believable things you can ever tell me since strong creatures like yourself can do things out of this world. Did you know that ghosts can also linger around places with good or bad memories because they have unfinished business in this world? It’s a rare chance that someone can ever spot them."
