Chapter 56: Home (1)

Aurora didn’t know what to think of Artemis so far after their small conversation. She was hoping to learn so much more about herself from Artemis but Artemis wanted her to figure it out on her own. Aurora understood why because no one would be able to tell her why she did something but it would’ve sped up the process if they did.

Artemis was the second person to tell her she had become angry with them. Why? Her lost memories were the answer to everything but she wasn’t sure how to get them back. Vincent once mentioned she was waking up so maybe she just needed to give it time. But how much time was the big question?

"Everything can’t be revealed in a day," Aurora muttered trying to convince herself. It might be a good thing she didn’t learn everything after all. What if there were more bad things in her memories? Memories that her past lives would like to forget? Some things were better left unknown. "The good thing is I can do whatever I want now. I hope Vincent’s home doesn’t have too many rules."

"It does but they won’t apply to you. They are mostly for the werewolves who come to visit."

Aurora almost jumped into the water when Vincent suddenly appeared behind her. He did it in her mind and now he was doing it in person. He needed a bell or something to alert her when he was around. Aurora didn’t know how much longer she could take the jumpscares. "Can you please give me a heads up when you are behind me?"

"Of course, I wouldn’t want you to die of fright. We’re going straight to my home now. Minnie has men sent out to look for you and the safest place for you to be aside from this forest is at my home. Get on," he said, going down on his knees so that she could ride his back. Vincent took her bag of items in his hands to hold.

Aurora instantly felt awkward whilst imagining her being on his back. How could he ask a lady to do that without a second thought? She remembered him claiming to be an improper man but still, she was not like him. No one would be watching but this memory would be burned into her mind. Plus, he seemed like the type to make her one day never forget about this. "No thank you. I’m capable of walking on my own." ƒгeewёbnovel.com

"Yes, I know you are independent but it’s a long walk and I travel faster than you do. Please get on Aurora."

"Why didn’t you change into the thing you were earlier?" She questioned remembering the image of the beast she had seen.

"Because I don’t want to scare you." His other form wasn’t something others found to be pretty and the last time she had seen it fully in what she had believed to be a dream, she had run from him. He knew that was a scary experience because it was all new to her but even with Aurora knowing he was a werewolf, she will be scared of the other him.

Aurora didn’t have a reply to that and got onto his back for him to take her to his home. What was the point of fighting to walk on her own for much longer? She wondered what awaited her at Vincent’s home and how much her life will change going forward.

Meanwhile, in the Hamilton household, Samuel was seen by a doctor who bandaged up his head and told Rachel he needed to take a lot of rest and have his medication. There might be a small wound at the back of his head but the doctor promised it wouldn’t be too noticeable.

Rachel sat beside Samuel’s bed hoping it wouldn’t leave a scar at all to ruin his perfect body. How was she to sit still when someone dared to hit her son in the head? She told her husband to find the person who did this at once but they weren’t even sure where to start looking. Samuel had not seen the person who hit him and Regina claimed to have run away. The only person who might’ve seen who hit Samuel would be Aurora.

"I told your father they should’ve handled the situation with Aurora a long time ago. I did not sign up for all of this hunting down someone, magic, and getting my son hurt. The two of them always leave me out of what they’re planning and now they’re shifting blame to everyone else but themselves," Rachel muttered once again, upset with her husband and Minnie.

If Nathaniel stopped listening to Minnie for once in his life and listened to Rachel’s plans, their son would not be lying here on this bed. Rachel had plans to get rid of Minnie and also her husband because she was tired of him too. All she needed was that perfect moment to strike. When Samuel becomes the heir, Rachel planned to have this house in her control by picking out a meek bride for her son. One who wouldn’t dare to question her mother-in-law. It was her turn to do what Minnie did to her.

Regina sat in a corner listening to her mother once again upset with her father and Minnie. Her mother hadn’t said much to her since they returned home and Minnie had ordered everyone not to speak with her. Regina was only here to make sure Samuel was alright before retiring to her room the night. She had an eventful night and did not want to end it off by continuously listening to her mother.

She was glad Samuel was alright. Her mother would never find out it was her who hit him and hopefully, they would never ever find Aurora. Their family dynamic would soon change because Regina saw a glimpse of Minnie’s true personality when she learned Aurora had escaped.

’I have a feeling Minnie will visit me tomorrow because they won’t find Aurora tonight,’ Regina thought to herself mentally preparing for the next day.
