Chapter 304: Home (1)
"If you want to stay one more day, I wouldn’t mind. This departure seems a bit too sudden," Vincent stated since he did not want Aurora to be rushed away from her sister.
"Regina and I have already talked about this and we are fine with it. I know you are just trying to make me happy but you are also worried about how things are going back home. Regina and I are going to try using the mirror spell by making it permanent so that we will see each other daily. I need to go back home and try contacting the witch sisters once more," said Aurora.
"Hmm. I am not exactly a fan of them entering my home so much. It is hard to get over almost being turned into a goat. They have been helpful recently but I think it’s best I buy you another home to let those witches visit you. What do you think?" Vincent stroked Aurora’s hair.
"Vincent, you just do not like people in your home. For all we know, Victor could have so many people in your home at this moment," Aurora said then chuckled when Vincent growled. "It is a waste of money no matter how much you have to buy another home. Besides, the wall is the main priority right now so no one will be free to build it for you. I will let them just show up in my room then everyone is happy."
"I am not," Vincent muttered.
"When is the big bad wolf ever happy? You will be fine," Aurora playfully patted his right cheek to comfort him. "Now there is no one I have to worry about, all I want to spend the next few days doing is sleeping and trying to regain some of my abilities. I think the spell to wipe out my memories weakened me over the years and now Artemis’s absence is making it worse. I can only mess around with plants and my knives," Aurora said, a tinge of sadness evident in her voice.
Vincent held her left hand to comfort her. It would be hard for him if something he was able to do naturally suddenly went away and it was not his fault. What the old woman had been doing to Aurora must have cost something from Aurora’s side each time the ritual was performed and now Artemis, who would have the ability to heal her, was gone.
"You’ll have plenty of time to try regaining all of your abilities when we return home. They are most likely still there but it has been a long time since you last used them. Once you stop worrying about them you’ll find that they return quickly. It will be alright," Vincent kissed her forehead.
"You’re right. And it’s not like I desperately need them. There is no one in my life I need to fight against. I would like to live a revenge-slash-fighting-free life now. That’s hard to request when living with an alpha. Why did you have to be such an important man?" Aurora poked his cheeks.
"Hey," Regina said to get the attention of Aurora and Vincent who were lost in their world. "You two have been excluding Timothy and me from your conversation for the last couple of minutes. Were you even aware that we were standing here?"
"Yes, but we were ignoring you, hoping you would go away," Vincent honestly replied.
"Hmm," Regina side-eyed Vincent. She couldn’t tell if she completely liked him or wished to poison him. If she did the latter, Aurora could stay with her forever. "You two should head back now before it gets too dark."
"A being created by the Goddess of the night and an alpha werewolf are traveling together. We will be fine in the middle of the night. It is anyone who dares approach us that you must worry about. Until we see each other again," Aurora stepped forward to hug Regina.
Regina hugged Aurora, enjoying the warmth she felt in the moment. "Until we meet again," she said.
With Regina unable to see what she was doing, Aurora sent Timothy a threatening look and mouthed the words, "Break her heart and I will break you. It won’t take long for me to return." freёwebnoѵel.com
"What did you say?" Regina pulled away from Aurora after hearing something.
Aurora innocently smiled and replied, "Nothing."
"Oh," Regina pulled Aurora back into the hug. She went straight back to threatening Vincent by whispering something about poison.
Aurora might be older than her by many years but Regina could not help being protective over Aurora and wanting to shield her from bad people who mistreated her. She could not wipe the old Aurora who would smile and just accept the way people treated her out of her head. There would always be an urge for Regina to want to protect Aurora.
"Goodbye," Aurora said as she pulled away. "I will buy the mirror spell as soon as she gets back home. The drops of blood and strands of your hair should work well with making it permanent."
"Wait what?" Timothy asked out of confusion. Why on earth would Aurora need Regina’s blood or hair?
"Calm down, Timothy. You need to get used to witches needing to use weird things for spells to work. Don’t be surprised if you find me with a lot of frogs in our home," Regina grinned, as there was a lot she wanted to try before becoming normal again.
Vincent helped Aurora up onto the horse they had used to ride into town and then got up behind her. By nightfall, they should be back home and hopefully walking into a peaceful house. With Victor being the one in charge anything was possible. Vincent knew he should consider himself lucky if he returned to his house standing. freewēbnoveℓ.com
After one last goodbye, Vincent started their journey back home. Aurora kept looking back at where Regina and Timothy stood waving goodbye. Right now, Aurora wanted nothing more than for her own wish to be granted. She wished everyone weren’t so afraid of each other so she and Regina could live close by.
