Chapter 299: Life goes on (1)
"You’re going to eventually have to kill him," Vincent said to Timothy as they watched Samuel leave with the carriage prepared.
It wouldn’t take a prophet to see that Samuel would be a problem in the future. Whatever person they knew Samuel to be was long gone. There was still a chance that Samuel would try killing Regina and vice versa.
"I know," Timothy replied. He knew there would only be peace in the beginning as Samuel would receive money from him but there would come a point in time when the reality of his family being gone would hit Samuel and his anger would be directed at Regina like earlier. "Right now, the most important thing is getting him far away from her. There’s going to be so much bullshit about her home and family that I need to shield her from."
"Why not become king and queen? The two of you don’t seem like royalty I would want to kill. After the last fool you had on the throne, not offense," Vincent added as it was Timothy’s relative. "It would be best for someone who has seen there is good to people not like you to be on the throne. This kingdom has a bad history between the two sides."
"Are you telling me I should make it so werewolves, vampires, and witches can casually walk around?"
"Certainly not. That does not depend on someone like you. A greater force will change the world and make the two sides have to coexist with each other. You two would be useful for getting rid of the unnecessary hunts, fear, and hatred towards people like me. The queen will understand it more than anyone," Vincent explained.
Timothy liked the sound of that but Regina did not want to become queen and he was not going to force her into taking on that responsibility. "Regina has no plans to become queen. She does not want to take the chance to be discovered as a witch."
"There is a way for her to return to normal. Have a conversation about it again. If you deny the chance to be king, make sure the person who will become king isn’t as paranoid as the old ones. Right now, werewolves have no plans to take over but there are other creatures who will become annoyed with the hunts and take over this kingdom. You can sleep on it. I’m going back before Aurora realizes the bed is empty," Vincent stated before leaving the doorway.
"Goodnight," Timothy said while he watched the carriage with Samuel get further and further away. They had to see if in the morning Regina would believe that Samuel just left on his own.
The next day, Aurora stirred in her sleep as the rays from the sun shined down on her, making her face hot. Vincent laid on his side, amused by the sight of her fighting the sun in her sleep. ƒree𝑤ebnσvel.com
"Ugh," Aurora groaned and opened her eyes, welcomed by the sight of Vincent with a smile. "It is creepy to watch someone while they sleep," she used her hand to force him to look elsewhere. "I must look like a mess right now. I feel as though I have not gotten any rest but I did."
Vincent pushed her messy hair back. She might not like it but he enjoyed this look she had in the morning. "You look beautiful, Aurora. Like every other moment when I have looked at you. If you weren’t so tired, I would let you feel how beautiful you are in my eyes right now."
"No thank you," Aurora closed her eyes. "We were not supposed to do anything last night but I ended up falling into your trap. You are the source of why I am tired while you look energized. It must be nice to be a werewolf with a lot of stamina. Bad for me who has to keep up with you. You were holding back and I still became tired quickly."
"You had a lot on your plate so you were bound to tire out easily. After some more rest and proper meals, you will be fine. I should not have overdone it last night. You gave me an inch but I took a mile. I am sorry," Vincent apologized. He had taken her two times in the bath and then once in the bedroom. ƒгeewёbnovel.com
He would never admit that he had purposely tired her out so she wouldn’t miss his presence while he went to look for Samuel. Had she not been so tired Aurora would have woken up the moment he tried leaving the bed.
"You do not need to apologize since I enjoyed last night. It is only that I am tired. Can you pull the curtains to block out the sun? I want to sleep a bit more before-"
A loud knock followed by Aurora’s name being called was heard at the door.
"Before that happens," Aurora groaned as her sleep was interrupted.
Without waiting on Vincent or Aurora to answer the door, Regina saw herself in, hoping the two were not naked.
"Samual has left," Regina quickly informed Aurora.
This was enough to share all the tiredness out of Aurora. She sat up and looked at Regina. "Left and gone where? How do you know he has left?"
"I woke up early to visit him because we ended on bad terms last night. The maids came to inform Timothy that a room was broken into and Samuel is nowhere to be found. He stole from Timothy and ran. I’m such a fool for thinking he would have a slap of reality and let us work on our relationship," Regina paced back and forth, tugging on her hair.
She was a fool to let Samuel into Timothy’s home when he was desperate. She couldn’t look Timothy in the eyes when she heard the news.
"Calm down," Aurora said, getting off the bed to let Regina stop pacing back and forth. "We’ll figure a way out to repay Timothy for the things Samuel has taken. This may be harsh but this might be for the best, Regina."
