Chapter 286: Moving on (1)

"I’ll stay here for as long as you need me," Aurora promised Regina. freewebnovel.cσ๓

"It’s dangerous for the two of you to stay here for so long," Regina wiped away her tears. As much as she wanted Aurora to stay, she knew how dangerous it was for a werewolf alpha to be in town along with someone as rare as Aurora. "After everything has settled, the two of you can leave. Besides, it wouldn’t be goodbye. You and I will meet again."

Before she would consider giving up becoming a full witch, Regina planned to practice more spells and try creating a way for her to meet with Aurora often as she did with the spying spell. That was her new goal.

"Right," Aurora agreed with Regina. "This isn’t goodbye. I have to visit often to make sure you and Timothy don’t go back to pranking each other. Then there’s your wedding I want to be around for and I want to have you at mine. I hope you weren’t going to think of anyone else as your maid of honor?"

"Of course not. Who else in my life is deserving of that title? You’re the only person I have liked consistently throughout the years and you have never betrayed me," said Regina.

"About that, I have something to confess," Aurora’s tone changed from playful to serious. "Remember when I used to take cookies from the kitchen secretly for us to eat? I hid some of the ones you liked and ate them by myself."

"What?!" Regina exclaimed out of disbelief. They made a promise to always share the cookies they would take from the kitchen. "How could you? Is no one loyal these days?" She chuckled.

"They were so good that I wanted more for myself. I thought about you while I ate them," Aurora laughed along with Regina.

"I’m sure you did. After all the punishment my mother put you through for taking them up, you deserved to have a little for yourself. I’m going to miss the fun moments we had in this house," Regina said while she watched the house continue to burn. "We were in so much trouble here."

"We’ll make new memories outside of it. There is so much trouble we can find ourselves in now that we are free to do whatever we want."

Regina knew that but nothing could beat the time they spent in this house. It was a shame the home had to be burned down before they collected some of their memories. Like the dolls, they used to play together. Those would be nice things to pass down to their daughters if they hopefully had one of their own someday.

"I hope you and I both have girls in the future. We can have them be as close as we were," said Regina.

"You’re already thinking of children with Timothy?" Aurora playfully nudged Regina. "You must truly be in love. I hope the two of you have not slept together yet but I would love for us to have girls as close as us."

"Why can’t I have slept with Timothy when you have told me about you and Vincent? What kind of unfair logic is that?" Regina turned slightly to face Aurora. freēwēbηovel.c૦m

"I am older than you. I can’t like the idea of him sleeping around with you just yet. I should talk to warn him. Maybe I whack him around a little bit or threaten to throw him into the underworld? What about saying I will feed him to werewolves if he breaks your heart?" Aurora considered the endless possibilities.

"Please, Aurora. If Timothy tried stomping on my heart he does not have to worry about your threats. I will kill him myself. I lose my ability to cast spells but I should still be able to make quite a few potions to have him go out quickly," Regina chuckled. "Oh crap, I am just like Minnie and my grandfather. Do you think we should be more concerned about the house? We’re talking about all kinds of random things."

"It’s not like we can put out the fire just yet. There is still a lot to be destroyed. I’m surprised no one from the neighbors has come out to check on the fire and see if anyone is alive. Surely, a servant would have noticed the flames and smoke in the distance," Aurora looked around to see if anyone was coming. "We should leave before anyone spots us just sitting here," Aurora stood up first.

"Good, I think I would be in a much better mood if I didn’t have to sit and watch the house burn while thinking about my family. We can start walking back and hopefully catch up to Vincent and Timothy. I hope Timothy has killed Gilbert instead of keeping that disgusting man alive. He wanted Minnie to give him to me instead of going into a cell," Regina shuddered as she recalled the memory.

"If Timothy has not killed him, I will personally do it myself. That man has always given me the creeps each time he visited Minnie. Even if he was not a witcher, I would want to kill him. We’ll find out about it soon. She should pay the children she saved a visit to see if they are doing alright."

"Okay," Regina replied. She walked slowly behind Aurora and turned around to give one look at the burning house. "What is that?" Regina muttered when she noticed something odd.

She squinted her eyes and saw that souls were seemingly lined up by things wearing dark hoods and sharp weapons in their hands. "Are those what Grimms are?" She wondered. She figured they were here to collect the souls that had been freed and those that died in the house tonight. ’I should get out of here before they try taking me with their souls,’ she thought.

Regina ran to catch up with Aurora to go back to Timothy’s home. At that same time, she missed someone running out of the burning home.
