Chapter 274: Beginning of the end (3)

Aurora tried to inspect the children as much as they would let her with their constant moving to try to hug her.

"Are they alright?" Vincent walked to Aurora’s side, wiping the blood from his hands into his pants. Vincent’s presence caused the children to cry even more as they had seen him kill the two men and he did not look human. "I forgot how much humans cry when they see the big bad wolf."

"What the fuck is going-"

The sound of another man was heard but then it disappeared before his question could end.

"Come children, we have to go now," Aurora stood up and led the children outside where they found Timothy and Regina standing over an unconscious man. "Timothy, take the children back to your home and keep them safe. Go to the Hamilton house with your men and do not let anyone leave the house."

Aurora looked down at the terrified children glued to her hip. She had no idea what they had seen while they were kept in a cage but knew it would not have been a pretty sight. "Children, that man will protect you. I promise he is not like the other bad men. I will come for you later and help you find homes. Alright? You must be quiet and follow him to safety."

"Come along children. I will give you warmth, shelter, and food. I will make sure you all find good homes," Timothy extended his hand out for the children to go with him. Seeing their terrified faces and hearing their cries upset him.

Instead of chasing after Gods, the king should have been paying close attention to many of the wealthy families around the kingdom. They had the money to do things like this and keep it hidden forever. It was mostly the poor being investigated for things like this. To think all of this was being done to force a wish out of Aurora upset him even more.

"Please be safe, Regina. I’ll return as soon as I can."

"He could at least tell the two people standing behind Regina to be safe," Aurora muttered. She still could not wrap it around her head that Regina and Timothy liked each other and were going to get married. "Time to go," Aurora pulled the back of Regina’s dress to make her leave before she engaged in a long goodbye conversation with Timothy.

"I wonder if that is how we appeared to Victor when we fell in love. Did we have him as a third wheel this much?" Vincent asked as he wiped the rest of the blood from his hands. "You don’t have to worry about her being without family. I can smell the heat between the two of them and I give it a week before she is pregnant."

"I can hear you. I don’t plan to be pregnant before I get married. I have always been against marriage and if I am finally doing it, I am doing it right. I want my wedding dress to fit me perfectly," said Regina. "Isn’t it odd we have not heard anything from my family besides Samuel searching for me?" freeweɓnovel.cøm

"It is odd," Aurora agreed with Regina. Why were Minnie, Nathaniel, and even Rachel out of sight? "Are you sure there isn’t anything you overheard while you were there, Regina? Did many order everyone to stay inside because of a scandal?"

"No, since the one about her and Duncan passed. We have all been able to move around as we wanted and I have not heard any new rumors from the time I visited Timothy’s home. Do you think there’s a chance Minnie knows we will be coming to her?" Regina asked since it felt too peaceful these days. "Maybe they are remaining inside because I am missing?"

Regina wondered if they believed that she was not with Timothy so they were not leaving home in case Timothy might question why he wasn’t seeing Regina. That theory was quickly thrown out as Samuel had told Timothy that she was missing.

Perhaps, they were staying low in case Timothy might come around to see if she was found. They were acting as if a member of their family was missing. They were acting normal. No matter what Regina thought she could not find the answer behind why her family was so quiet these days.

"We will figure it out soon," Vincent stated when the Hamilton home came into view.

"I am back," Aurora muttered. There was a wave of emotions in her chest. As she looked at the Hamilton home it felt like the first time she had stumbled the first time and met Esmeralda. This time, she would be made to stay forever. "Oh, the witches are here."

"Remember to pay us with frogs too!" Agatha yelled as green smoke surrounded the trio and then they disappeared into thin air.

"Those idiots," Vincent’s lip twitched due to the fact one of the witches yelled out loud when they were trying to sneak onto the property and find the family while they slept. "I am going to kill them when I see them again."

"There doesn’t seem to be any movement. I don’t think anyone heard Agatha. Go ahead and see if you are able to walk on the land without any problems."

Vincent picked up his pace walking ahead of Aurora and Regina to see if the witches had done their part well. He took one step onto the property where he knew wolfsbane was secretly planted. He felt nothing. "They have broken the spell," he whispered to Aurora.

It was somewhat irritating that if he had a good relationship with the three witches they could have broken the spell placed on the flowers around the Hamilton home and he would have been able to save Aurora earlier. As upsetting as it was, Vincent could not think about it right now.

Aurora and Regina followed behind Vincent. He would protect them if anyone were to spot them.

"Aurora, does the air suddenly feel chilly? Wow," Regina’s eyes widened when she looked behind them and found all the plants, trees, grass, and everything else to be dying. She looked back at Aurora knowing she had to be doing this and saw that Aurora’s eyes were glowing.
