Chapter 273: Beginning of the end (2)

"When I decided to court you, Regina, and you finally agreed to marry me, I expected we would be spending time planning our wedding. Not once would I have thought we would be walking up to a mountain to save children from your crazy witch family," Timothy stated as the four of them walked up a mountain to find a cave Aurora knew about.

"It’s more exciting than preparing for a wedding where we would have hired a wedding planner. The only way for you to back out of this would be with death. Choose wisely sweetie," Regina batted her eyelashes at Timothy.

"I am not trying to back out but I hope there are no other surprise adventures or crazy family members we need to deal with anytime soon. I want us to get married soon," said Timothy.

"This is not exactly the best time to be talking about this," Aurora spoke up. They were on their way to save children and the conversation somehow got shifted to marriage. "We should be quiet in case there is anyone around to hear us. There might be guards around to kill anyone who gets near to the cave."

"I would hear them and warn all of you to be quiet," Vincent stated from the front of the group. He was leading them through the dark mountain as he could see and hear better than any of them. "This might be the only time I agree with the human that there should be no more crazy adventures after this. I want to settle down and not have to fight for a while."

"You are the alpha. If there are any crazy adventures it will be because of your enemies. Even though you are getting rid of your uncle’s followers there will still be someone trying to get rid of you. Tough luck," said Aurora.

"We will not have to leave the community-"

"Unless she is coming to visit me," Regina interjected. She was certain this would not be the last time she saw Aurora for a long time. After Aurora returns to wherever she went they would meet again. Even if Regina had to search every inch of the kingdom.

"No," Vincent replied.

"Why are we talking about this right now when we are nearing the cave? I blame Timothy." Aurora made a root made pull out of the ground right before Timothy causing him to trip but not fall.

"Aurora! As hilarious as that would have been, we shouldn’t mess with each other’s future husband’s. I might try turning Vincent here into a frog and if I succeed, I’ll have no idea how to turn him back. From now on we will only talk about our plan. How much further?" Regina asked Vincent.

Her feet were already tired and her body desperately needed water to keep her going.

"Aurora’s right. I can smell people nearby and there is smoke. There’s a faint scent of blood in the air too but it does not smell like a child. We might not be too late," Vincent said.

"They wouldn’t kill the children unless they have Aurora or they would have to collect more children which would be a hassle. They’ve killed and stored the body here. It is mind blowing how many things were so close to me but I did not have the slightest clue. Think about if you never started to regain your memories, Aurora."

"Whatever happened to only talking about the plan," Aurora looked to her side at Regina. Maybe talking helped to calm whatever emotion Regina was feeling.

"Sorry. My adrenaline is through the roof and if we remain silent I might burst from the pressure."

"We’re here," Vincent and Timothy said at the same time.

Aurora’s skin tingled from the memories of what would happen whenever she went into this cave. She would come out with no idea of who she really was and take the identity given to her.

Vincent, Aurora, Regina, and Timothy hid the darkness watching and waiting for a moment to strike. They needed to do this as quickly and quietly as possible where no one could run away and warn Minnie they were coming for her.

"He wants them gone by tomorrow. Now that the spoiled brat ran away he’s not playing around. Let’s get this over with and collect our money. We’ll skip town before that psycho old woman burns it to the ground," the voice of a man was heard echoing from inside of the cave.

"Do not even think of crying," another voice was heard and then the sound of a cage rattling like it had been kicked. "I’ll pick out whoever cries first to be killed and I’ll volunteer to do it myself."

"Why are there tears in your eyes when this is better than living on the street where you’re hungry and no one gives a damn about you.

’I can’t listen to any more of this," Aurora thought as she reached her breaking point.

These were innocent children who most likely followed these men because they thought they would receive help. They were brought here to be killed because of someone’s greed.

"Timothy and Regina, stay here to keep watch and alert us if anyone comes. Vincent," Aurora called his name for him to move with her. "How many?"

"Just the two," Vincent replied. "I will get rid of them." freeweɓnovēl.coɱ

Vincent ran ahead of Aurora following the voices of the two men coming from inside of the cave.

"Who are you- wait..."

"Ah!" ƒreewebηoveℓ.com

The voices disappeared as soon as Vincent found the two men and killed them. Aurora went straight to the cages where the children were being held. "Do not be afraid. I am not here to hurt you. We will take you somewhere safe from these bad men."

She used her strength to break the lock holding the chain around the cage together.

"Come with me-oh!" Aurora almost stumbled backward as the children all ran out of the disgusting cave they were in and hugged her. "They won’t be able to harm you. I promise."
