Chapter 243: Accepted (2)

"Do you want to dance, Vincent?" Aurora was enjoying their conversation but as she looked out at the people dancing around the bonfire, she wished to join them. "I won’t be the best-"

"Come on," Vincent stood up, pulling Aurora up with him. "You don’t have to be good. Tonight is all about having fun."

Aurora inspected the way the women and men dance around in circles. Their movement wasn’t in sync with each other which meant there were no particular dance steps needed. "Do I just need to keep moving around the fire? It doesn’t matter what I do?"

"It doesn’t matter how you dance. Keep moving or leave the line when you no longer wish to dance. Keep a good distance between the person in front and behind you. Are you ready?"

"Ready," Aurora jumped into a free spot in the line and kept moving with the others. She skipped and twirled, enjoying the music along with the others dancing with her. "Vincent?" She became confused after she went around a complete circle only to find him standing where she previously was before joining the fun.

She had not looked back behind her after she jumped in and assumed Vincent was right there behind her.

Instead of leaving the line to be with Vincent, Aurora continued to dance around the bonfire. The heat radiating from the fire felt nice as the air had been chilly but the fire was warming her up.

As Aurora spun around here and there, the person behind and in front of her would laugh and mimic what she was doing.

"Aurora seems to be making friends without realizing it," Victor stood beside Vincent to get a better view of Aurora dancing. "Did you not join her because of how bad you look when you try to dance? I’m sure she wouldn’t have minded."

Cherry smacked Victor in the stomach as he had no room to talk. "Each time I asked you to dance, you kept refusing to go out there. You men are so useless," she muttered, keeping her eyes on Aurora having all the fun. "I should have chased after Aurora instead."

Cherry ran towards the bonfire to join in the line of dancers right behind Aurora.

"W-Wait," Victor tried to stop her to ask what she meant but Cherry was already in the line. "I think my girlfriend likes your girlfriend. Is it our blood to be bad at dancing?"

Vincent didn’t reply to Victor as his attention was solely on Aurora. He didn’t think she could get even more beautiful until now. As she danced around the fire, the light brightened up her face. No one could miss her smile or her laughter when she was close to messing up.

"Aurora!" ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm

Vincent scowled once he realized Cherry had joined in behind Aurora. Why did she have to ruin the moment for him? "Victor, please get your girlfriend."

"Why? She’s having so much fun with Aurora. Are you jealous you are not the one out there dancing with Aurora? If our girlfriends hook up with each other that would be hilarious. Let Aurora have fun with Cherry even if it pains us," Victor was a tiny bit jealous like Vincent though he wouldn’t admit it. "The line is getting really long."

"Oops," Aurora clamped her hand over her hand after she almost fell for the third time.

"If you fall I can’t help it if I laugh. I can’t see Victor anymore," Cherry said as the number of people joining to dance around the bonfire quickly increased. She figured it had something to do with Aurora.

Who wouldn’t want to get up and dance after they’ve seen how much fun Aurora was having? Cherry liked that a good amount of people had forgotten their dislike for Aurora due to her not being a werewolf and were only focusing on having fun tonight.

"I’ve got to stop," Aurora said after she almost fell once again. The bonfire had become too crowded and for someone who kept falling near a fire, it was best she stopped now. "I’m going out, Cherry."

Leaving wasn’t as easy as Aurora thought as there were two other lines of people dancing she needed to maneuver out now.

"Oh crap," Aurora cursed as she was forced to keep moving around the bonfire. The fun was now over as she had to plan how she would leave the line before her feet got tired. "Cherry, how do we get out now?" She turned around to talk to Cherry as she walked backward.

"Like this," Cherry grabbed Aurora’s hand. "Move out of my way or I will gut the next person who bumps into me."

Aurora smacked her face with her hand when the dancing stopped and even the group of people banging on drums stopped when they heard the threat. It was an efficient way of getting out of the crowd but now all eyes were on them.

"Is she done dancing?"

"I just joined."

"Are they referring to you or me?" Aurora asked Cherry as she was confused about who the crowd was talking about.

"You, silly. Your face practically lit up this area and makes everyone just want to dance with you. How can you not see this?" Cherry shook Aurora’s body back and forth. "It’s like we can see the moon Goddess in you as you dance."

"Well, I can’t see what my face looks like when there is no mirror," Aurora muttered. She didn’t expect anyone to want to dance along with her. She thought she was bad because of the many times she stumbled. "I suppose I can dance a little bit longer."

"Are you sure?" Cherry did not want Aurora to feel pressured into dancing.

"I’m sure. Can we have music again!" Aurora yelled to the drummers. "Let’s go," this time she held onto Cherry’s hand for them to dance around together.

On the outside of the crowd, Vincent relaxed as Aurora had dealt with the situation herself. Without even trying she gained a good amount of people who accepted her after they saw how carefree she was. It might also be her smile that trapped them just like how he was trapped by it.

"Can we dance too?" Abigail’s quiet voice asked as she tugged on Vincent’s pants.

Vincent looked down at the small human beside him. "Is there something wrong with your feet?"

"No," Abigail replied after checking if her feet were alright.

"Then why are you asking me if you can dance? Do whatever you want or ask the people you call parents," Vincent looked back up, ignoring the small child.

"I want to dance. I want to dance with you. You are the prince," Abigail tugged on Vincent’s pants to make him look at her again.

Vincent looked down at Abigail again but this time he showed his golden eyes and large teeth. "If you do not want to be eaten by the big bad wolf, I suggest you leave me."

"Cool," Abigail commented, intrigued by Vincent’s eyes. "You are like the wolf I read in the story. Can we dance now?"

Vincent was taken aback by the young child not scared of his face. If he truly shifted the child might run for her life but then Jane, Derek, Aurora, Cherry, and Victor would be on his case. "I cannot dance."

Abigail was happy to hear Vincent could not dance. "I also cannot dance. I never learned to. I always watched the children dancing around at the festivals and was jealous of them."

"You are very grown for your age," said Vincent. Though the girl was really young she spoke as if she was much older. Having to take care of her younger sister on the street did that. "Only one dance."

"What are you doing?" Vincent asked when Abigail held her hands out.

"You have to hold my hands."

Vincent rolled his eyes, already regretting his decision to dance with the little one. If only she knew he was on board to kill her and her sister not too long ago. Would she still want to dance with him then?

"Make it a quick dance," Vincent accepted Abigail’s hands.

Abigail jumped up and down, happy to be dancing with who she viewed to be a prince. "Why aren’t you moving?" She pouted due to Vincent standing like a tree.

"This is my way of dancing. Either get used to it or I shall release your hands," Vincent wasn’t going to dance for anyone. Not even Aurora. It was not something he particularly enjoyed.

"Abigail, you have to take small steps with this one. Just be glad he is holding unto your hand," Derek appeared to cheer up Abigail. Just like the others watching, he was surprised Vincent did not continue to push Abigail away and accepted her invitation to dance.

Abigail wanted Vincent to move around with her and became sad but then she thought he was afraid others might laugh at him for not being able to dance. She also did not like being laughed at.

"Okay," she continued to jump up and down as she held onto Vincent’s hands.
