Chapter 218: Traitor (4)

Walking back into the community, Vincent received many stares from the people he walked by. Most thought their eyes were playing tricks on them while others thought it was his ghost.

"Everything will be explained in a few hours," was all he said to the crowd. He was planning on giving the entire community a detailed explanation altogether rather than having to explain to one group, then another, and so on.

"A community meeting will be held in three hours. Please spread the word around. If you don’t want to miss what has been happening please be there. Give Vincent some time to himself for the moment and save your questions for later. All will be answered! Derek yelled to the crowd.

After this, he planned to hurry back to Jane and the young ones before Vincent could throw him another job to do.

To make things easier for him and Aurora, Vincent took a horse tied by the gates for him and Aurora to ride back to his home. They both needed to get cleaned up and then he was going to have a chat with Cecilia.

"No one inside of the community is allowed to leave for the next five hours," he instructed Carl. All of Graham’s supporters might try to run away from their punishment but he was not going to allow that.

He’ll expose all their dirty deeds to the community and have them either killed, locked away, or exiled depending on their crimes.

"If you weren’t so dirty I would lay against your chest and fall asleep. I have been walking for so long," Aurora yawned suddenly feeling tired now that they were back home. All she wanted now was a nice warm bath and a bed to sleep away in.

"I will have a warm bath ready for you. You can sleep for the rest of the day while I deal with everything else," said Vincent. He heard her yawn about five times since they came which was why he was in such a rush to get them back quickly for her to rest.

"Is this how a queen feels? I can get used to this treatment. If I close my eyes before we get to your home please catch me if I fall. Since Artemis has left I think that’s the reason behind my sudden tiredness." Aurora was a little bit worried she might fade away.

She was created by Artemis and there was the possibility of her disappearing but she wasn’t planning on leaving Vincent. If Artemis wanted Aurora to be with her, Aurora wouldn’t do it.

"You’ll be fine. Artemis cares for you and your siblings. I doubt she would make you give up the life you have created on your own. You will be with me forever and ever," Vincent reassured Aurora. He was certain it was only her trip that made her tired and she was overthinking everything.

"Forever and ever hmm..." she trailed off, closing her eyes for a moment. "Too risky," she opened them back fearing that she would leave off to the side of the horse and fall onto the road. It would be both embarrassing and painful to fall.

"We’re here," Vincent informed her when the house was in his sight.

Outside of his home still had a small group of people there but it was nothing compared to how it was earlier. Vincent chose to ignore those people for now as word about the meeting would soon spread around and they would eventually leave to return later.

John the butler appeared out of the house to take the horse and put it away.

Yet again, Aurora was confused as to where the butler had been this entire time. For as long as she had been back here she only came across the butler once. With everything about Vincent’s death, where was he? "Vincent, are you sure he is not dead? He’s never around." fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm

"I told you he likes to be silent and do his job. I don’t make him do more than what he does now. He does not enjoy being seen by others too often. I have no idea why and I do not feel the need to ask him about it. You’ll get used to it," Vincent got off the first so that he could assist her.

"I’ll get used to not remembering you have a butler but him randomly popping out of places will keep scaring me. Let’s say hi to each other at least once a day," she said to John.

One day if he was willing, she wanted to know why he didn’t like being seen by others.

John simply bowed his head at her request.

"Progress," Aurora clapped her hands but this little action took too much of her strength. "I must bathe and then sleep or perhaps, sleep in the bath?"

"Do want some company-"

"Not a chance when you have so much blood on you. Plus I know that if I let you join me I’ll become more tired than I already am. Get your own warm bath mister," she poked his chest with each word.

"Couldn’t help trying. I will get you a new maid to help you. It will take a moment for me to choose someone." Vincent was going to make sure the next person to be Aurora’s personal maid would have a full background check and nothing owing to others.

"I’m not in a rush for a new person around me. I can dress, run my bath, do my hair, and everything else on my own. I did not have someone to do that for me at the Hamiltons. I want to do those things alone now that Mari is gone." Aurora wasn’t ready to warm up to someone again so soon.

She placed her trust in Mari but it didn’t work out. If she were to ever get another maid it would be someone she spoke to for a while before giving them the job. free𝑤ebnovel.com

"Okay," Vincent replied. When she was ready he could always present her with a list of candidates.

"I will see you when you return later. Please don’t take too long wrapping everything up," Aurora wanted to lay with him and fall asleep. ’When did I get so clingy?’ She wondered.

Vincent entered the home right behind Aurora but unlike her, he was already stripping for his bath. Time was of the essence so he wanted to visit Cecilia before anyone else could get to her or before he tried to hide anything he needed to see.

In less than twenty plenty minutes Vincent had washed away the blood and changed his clothes. After a quick check-in with Aurora who fell asleep while she was bathing, he exited his home to see Cecilia once again.

Two visits from him in two days, she must feel honored that he was making his way to her. Oh, how she must wish she had never married Graham now. Life might’ve been better when she was merely a mistress instead of a wife.

Vincent hummed a tune as he walked with his hands behind his back while ignoring the stares and whispers. Had he known today was going to be such a good day he would have asked Abel to prepare a feast for him to celebrate his uncle’s demise.

He thought about visiting the memorial for his mother and father to finally send them off from this world. They no longer needed to worry about him and Victor. Vincent wanted his parent’s souls to move on so they could meet in another lifetime.

At that same time, he wanted to introduce the woman he would spend the rest of his life with to show his mother she was right about him finding the woman to make him change his mind. To show the person he gave his mother’s necklace. Had his mother been alive Vincent knew she would have loved Aurora.

Upon reaching the house belonging to his uncle, the front door was wide open with bags piled up on one another.

"That was quick," he commented on the fact Cecilia already had her things ready for her to move out. He was a little surprised she wouldn’t just flee and leave those things before she could be caught but she was too greedy to let go of her expensive things.

"That idiot," he heard Cecilia’s voice as he silently went up the steps.

"I should have picked someone else. Look how I will end up if Vincent knew about what happened. What time is he going to return-"

"I’m afraid he’s not going to return to you. His little meeting with the vampires didn’t go so well," Vincent interrupted her. He leaned up against the wall to watch her continue what she was previously doing. "Why are you in a rush to take out all of your things Cecilia? Why are you leaving my uncle?"

The shock had taken over Cecilia the moment she heard Vincent’s voice. Just this morning she was celebrating his death but now, she was fearing him again. "V-Vampires? What do you mean?" She decided to feign ignorance.
